Soft cap being the be-all and end-all of a build is what I would consider to be the actual "defense myth."
I approve of my newer build for my brute with def that's one purp from soft cap. It's better in most situations--in some situations remarkably better. But when it's not better, it's a lot worse. Those situations being enemies that rapidly floor def. Previously, as a WP brute, his mitigation came mostly from res and regen and -def groups weren't much different than any other.
I think switching from being almost exclusively purp insp dependent to being orange and purp dependent will help, but is less streamlined and simple.
For his second build, a lvl50 build as opposed to an exemplaring build, I will find a way keep more of the regen. -
if it's consistently linked to an in game action I'd suspect your computer instead of your internet

Winning the lottery made me be more in debt than before I had all that money. Money caused my debt. :(

Quote:Eat a purple inspiration and call it a dayI have a /DA build that is currently hovering at 44.9% def against Energy/Neg. Energy. I can get it just over 45%, but it will require me using an additional enhancement slot that would have otherwise been used to add in a +end proc in stam.
My question is does 44.9% actually roundup to 45% and so I have nothing to worry about, or if not then is that last .1% going to really make enough of a difference? -
Don't get me wrong I like the idea of a small group infiltrating a base or what have you and going in and stealthily executing their plan and getting away with it. It's a fun plot line to many stories.
I am just too greedy to enjoy that alone. -

Quote:You don't need the soft cap.Really, S/L defense? By myself I only have about 16% of that.
WP is S/L resistance and F/C/E/N defense, so I wanted to enhance that. (Unfortunately there are almost no sets that offer S/L resistance bonuses, though.)
I'm not sure if I can get enough set bonuses for S/L defense to reach the softcap (45%). Wouldn't it be better to try to softcap the already higher F/C/E/N defense?
Thanks,

Getting w/in a purple inspo (or two) of cap is good enough for WP. WP doesn't have DDR to speak of. So enemies that do -def melt through your def very quickly. Then it comes down to you other layers of survivability enhancing attributes, (res and regen).
This means that you have to keep purples on you. But, it's really not that hard.
Here're the binds I use to combine inspos on the fly. I don't run short on purples until I run low on inspirations. Usually I don't run out though.
Code:CTRL+NUMLOCK "inspcombine Keen_Insight Good_Luck$$inspcombine Focused_Rage Good_Luck$$inspcombine Take_a_Breather Good_Luck$$inspcombine Dramatic_Improvement Good_Luck$$inspcombine Rugged Good_Luck$$inspcombine Emerge Good_Luck" SHIFT+NUMLOCK "inspcombine enrage luck$$inspcombine insight luck$$inspcombine awaken luck$$inspcombine respite luck$$inspcombine catch_a_breath luck$$inspcombine Break_Free luck" ALT+NUMLOCK "inspcombine Uncanny_Insight Phenomenal_Luck$$inspcombine Righteous_Rage Phenomenal_Luck$$inspcombine Second_Wind Phenomenal_Luck$$inspcombine Resurgence Phenomenal_Luck$$inspcombine Robust Phenomenal_Luck"

I usually only play the dev choice AE arcs w/ my farmer.
Since there're no merits, I don't play it with my SF runner. -
Quote:I see adverts for 'kill-most' SFs more than I do for speed or kill-allMuch more fun. For the first week or so, people starting doing the "kill all" thing, which was a bit annoying, but now people seem to have settled into the "kill on the way to objectives" which is probably how these things were designed to be done and are very fun as a result.

Quote:^^^^^^^^^^^^^ thisStamina didn't make the low level endurance issues worse. Poor decision-making made the low level endurance issues worse.
I am not at all clear on how adding more endurance recovery could be rationally seen as making the problem of low end recovery worse. I could understand if at some threshold people said it didn't make any difference, but worse? -
I'm having fun
Lost more people running them.
Yeah I have to sit on my hands sometimes, but so what.
Maybe not killing everything could lead to more shards per sec. But more kills means more of the other rewards as well. Many people I have anecdotally talked to have gotten one or more purples running kill alls.
Also, killing for the sake of killing is underrated. -
take each of you def powers, throw 5 def IOs in them
subtract your build's current total for that power
repeat til you get all the powers done
add the difference from all of them to your current build's totals
or something simpler that someone else posts -
Are you sure that warning was legit?
Cause thats a current scam that's going around too. -
Quote:I'll do these too.All we can do as players is /bug it and/or PM it to... I'd say theOcho, he's the community guy, he'll likely forward it to who needs to know. Make sure you describe your bug well and preferably in a way that allows them to easily reproduce it.
I assumed it was a known bug because I heard about it from someone else asking if it had been fixed. Then I had to go and check and see for myself.
It's very easy to replicate because it just never works. I use the Power Analyzer temp power and then start smacking on a mob while checking the mob's status window. All of my other -tohits show up but that one never does. It has a 33% chance to hit, but I ran it for more than 33 repetitions before I stopped counting the repetitions. I continued to let it run where I could watch the status window while I updated the wiki. So, most likely I had over 100 hits where the proc failed to fire.
I'll set up my logs as well and run the test again.
If anyone else has heard about this bug, where did you hear about it? -
Quote:Thank you. I will give it a try.You could try PMing Arbiter Kim, who was supposed to be handling bug reports on the forums. He might be able to help, although he's only made one post on the forums this year, so I don't know if he's still in that role.
ahh well

I use it as a stand alone proc on PBAoEs. If I had it in a set, I prob'ly would swap it with another Absolute Amazement.
