Quote:Things I want to do on 2XP Weekends:
- Farm vast quantities of prestige for my solo VG.
- Earn giant heaps of infamy at the same time.
- Pick back up any higher level characters who have stalled out, and see if I can jump start my interest in them with a few levels.
- Start characters that I normally wouldn't think of playing, because they don't handle very well in early levels.
- Team a lot more often than I normally would.
- Make a killing on the Black Market taking advantage of the fairly predictable post-2XP fluctuations in a lot of common items.
This is what I usually do as well.
Quote:Things I actually do on 2XP Weekends:
- Lag
- Rubberband
- Slideshow
- Freeze
- Mapserver
- Log out
At least I've been able to take "Reload the server list for twenty minutes until Virtue isn't red" off of that list, the last couple 2XP Weekends.
Eisenzahn's experience is a major reason to have back-up characters on other servers, BTW. -
Per the Wiki, here's what should come with the 51 month badge:
51 Month Rewards
Tried and True Badge
Costume Change Token given to all characters on account
Costume Pieces: Crab Spider, Blood Widow, Mu Mystic, Wolf Spider Helmets
Sounds to me like you do have it - what more were you looking for?
My 60 Month reward was missing, so I submitted a /petition in-game, and 3 days later it was there and I got a very nice email from them asking if the problem was fixed.
Your experiences seem atypical to me - have you tried escalating it? -
Quote:That was my interpretation fo the suggestion - and I fully support it if that is the case. Not sure what you mean here.
Do you mean just adding a display of Primary/Secondary powerset?
ie go to the character select screen and see:
Super-Duper X-Man
Invulnerability/Super Strength
Level 38 Science Tanker
Brickstown
as the character display (plus his picture of course)? -

Not always - I've seen events just stop happening, like a switch being turned off.

Quote:Yes to this a BILLION times over!
I understand the original intent..SG promotion as an official rp ceremony to give a more authentic feel but that sentiment is outdated now.
People can still promote/demote in an online-only ceremonial thingamajig but please give some of us the ability to opt out of such a static function.
I never heard this "original intent" explanation before - where did it come from? -
Quote:Then you are obsessing over a "perfect shot" and way over-thinking it.It actually feels significantly different. With the breath cones, I don't hestitate to fire them as often. If it hits one or two enemies its at least not wasted.
With Energy Blast I often feel like I'm angling for a shot that never appears. But again only on teams. I think this character solos really well. -
Often requested, always supported.

Please don't take this the wrong way (but I'm not sure how to phrase it more gently) -
You have read too much advice on the forums!
Seriously, as Muon already said, sometimes stuff (in this case, how much higher level mobs resist Lethal) gets overstated. in this game, most times, the difference between one thing and another is a relatively "small" percentage, making something take a bit longer rather than become "unpossible".
But you also have a good start into solving the problem you are seeing - a willingness to try other alts. You will find one that fits you.
BTW, I found MMs harder to learn how to play compared with a Brute or Corruptor. Managing pets was so different from managing a single character. For that reason, I would *not* recommend starting out with a MM, especially if you do want the occasional PuG.
But I also recommend that you go ahead and join groups, just explain that you are new. My experience has been that you will find many players who want to expound on how to play, etc., and if you let them, they will take lots of time to explain how to work in the group. If you fall into a group unwilling to do that, quit the team and find someone else. Joining a teaming global channel will help there.
Heroside, I found that playing a Blaster was a good way to learn how teams operate - you can stand back a bit and watch how the other ATs do their thing. To some extent, you can do that with a Corruptor villainside, if you play one with a secondary that can buff/debuff quickly so you can go back to blasting. -
So far, I've only moved one character - from Justice to Liberty, where I have built up a 2-player SG.
I may move a couple more lesser-played characrers off Infinity (to free up slots) in preparation of Going Rogue, since I have a couple of inherited SGs on Pinnacle & Victory. -
Sign up Brighid Frost (fire/ice blaster) for this.
She's still level 40 and can start one of the teams if necessary. -
I hate Redraw!
To use the Axe, you have to pull it out of nullspace (putting away anyother weapon or shield you may have out) then after whiffing with it (vet power attacks lack much in the way of Accuracy), you have to pull out the regular weapon/shield.
Plus, Sands has a cone if you line it up right, allowing me to beat on two or three opponents instead of just one. It has been coming in pretty handy for my lowbie meleers opening Presents during this Winter Event, since the Frostlings spwan packed together so nicely. -
Agreed with all of the above - you can drastically limit what this person can remove using what they all told you.
So the only thing you would "lose" is any time you spent on current design and any time you might spend changing what they did if you end up hating it.
Since base editing is a massive time sink, that might be a lot of time - but to me, base editing is something I do for fun, so nothing is truly "lost". -
Actually, no, I've never seen it limited by the size of the plot. It's 18 total storage items if you can make them all fit on whatever soze plot and never grows larger than that, sorry.
It can be limited by the ROOM. Your standard 2X2 Workshop can only hold 9 storage items, although they can be mixed as Chad noted. To hold the maximum number of storage items, you need 2 of these rooms - that is 2 rooms X 9 storage = 18 total storage items.
Some other rooms also take storage items - it's listed on the Detail portion for that room in the base editor. I know that the Oversight Room can hold 1 storage, Control Rooms & Energy Rooms can hold 1 storage, at least one of the medical Rooms can hold 1 storage. Transport Rooms do not hold storage, nor does the Entry Room or any Decorative Room.
You can only have 1 Vault ( and a second one would be pointless, as they access the same storage space as the one in the Vault Reserve, and a second one adds nothing).
An "Invention Table" isn't a storage item (it's a different class of item called "workshop" IIRC) and does not count against your 18 storage item total - again, this makes sense, since you aren't storing anything in it, just using it to make stuff to store.
Here is the general Wiki link regarding bases - you can drill down further from there:

Quote:With all due respect, OP, there was no "bad blood" fomented by this thread.Well, I've also noticed.. Excuse this post.. A lot of hostility in reaction to this thread and aimed towards me in particular, I've tried to be civil and really I refuse to lower myself to the level of flinging insults at people, bickering with them and berating them for having a differing opinion from my own.. Nay and rather, I respect them for having a differing opinion.
With all the bad blood, though and all the anger and hostility I'm beginning to perceive from many of the posts made recently in this thread I think I'm going to quietly bow out and allow it to die away. Perhaps I made a mistake in thinking this was an issue that could be talked over, it seems people are not ready to look at things objectively and without malice or bigotry.
Everyone, be well. I mean that.
Your definitions seem a bit thin-skinned and skewed. You assume that anyone who has stated a distaste for MRP & ERP as being hostile at best and outright hypocritical at worst.
I saw little actual hostility, more an attitude that a poster here and there found it a puzzling behavior while some others found it creepy. I suppose that because you are advocating such behavior you have now taken their comment to be some sort of personal criticism. There is a difference, and no one in this thread has said that you should stop doing the ERP you apparently find enjoyable - with a few warnings that you should be careful that the other party is indeed a "consenting adult" not a minor.
But I also found your stance that those who criticize ERP are "hypocritical" because they must indulge in ERP themselves (and now lie about doing so) to be a rush to judgement on your part. I can assure you that many people do not ERP in this game or elsewhere....
As for objectivity - given that you have read posts that were made in a fairly balanced tone to be personal criticisms - I guess you may want to examine your own objectivity in this matter. -
Why are you saving them?
I will make an assumption that you think you may want to use them later, but can't right now? Also, you may have gone to the market and seen that recipes are expensive?
My advice is to sell anything that you won't be using in a level or two - on the market if it's a recipe that is pulling in good Inf consistently, or at a vendor. You can always buy it later if you still want it. And in the meantime, you now have Inf to buy something you can use now.
Generally speaking, the Devs seem to be saying that we aren't supposed to be holding recipes - that's why we don't have a way to keep any significant number of them. -

I only have the medicine pool on 1 out of about 25 blasters. And for that one, it's an experiment like Riverdusk has. The good thing is that with the ability to have a second build, you can try the same blaster with and without that pool (it gets a bit pricy if you want to IO them both out, however).
As far as the lack of Infl goes, there is a large element of randomness to it at least until you get to the upper teens, so your observation that your blasters are poor in comparison with a scrapper is anecdotal at best. Think back - did that scrapper get a really good drop or two, maybe a run of Luck Charms?
There's no good reason why your new blaster can't have as many opportunities to get merits as the scrapper did. The soloing tactic is different (as many have pointed out) but blasters can certainly solo content, including story arcs for merits.
All my blasters fly and all of them get Stamina by the mid20s (not all right at level 20). Beyond that, some have Stealth, some don't even take a third or fourth power pool, instead taking nearly all the primary/secondary and then ancillary power pool.
What server is your new blaster on? If I have a character there, I would be happy to promote your blasting career with a gift of Infl. -
Villains access the aura mission the same way they do the cape mission - by talking to their initial contact (Kalinda or Burke).

Quote:How many enemy groups have different badges for minions vs Lts vs bosses?
For example, a player who's earned all the Minion, Lt and Boss defeat badges for a particular enemy group would receive a corresponding Accolade and access to a pet powerset centered around that group.
Off the top of my head (and I'm really not much of a badger so I could easily be wrong), there aren't any, are there?
So "all" the badges might mean only one? And some way easier to get than others? Or am I missing something?
Besides that, I don't really care for the dilution of the pet ATs (MM's mainly, but to a lesser extent, trollers, defs, & doms). -
Note that time of day also may have an effect on how populated a server is, since there are a couple of servers which are the unofficial homes for player communities outside the continental US.
If you are playing at off-peak hours (typically any time not after work, 6 p.m. to midnight in the US plus weekends) you may want to check those servers out.
I know Justice is/was the Pacific Oceanic server for those playing really off-peak for US hours. -
Quote:FAIL.......... Oh well, one re-spec comin' up...and I was so close
Wait - don't worry about a respec just yet.
You can always take Hover next time you get a power choice.
And honestly, at any level under 10, you should probably just delete the character and reroll her. You are still in the learning stages - and your friends are just starting out new characters, so rerolling and levelling with them would be fun, wouldn't it? It won't take you long to get back to where you are now - and your friends will be there right beside you!
