Is there a limit to the number of Salvage Racks?

Is there a limit to the amount of salvage racks a base can have? Vaults, invention tables, enhancement tables?

Yes, and it depends on the size of your base plot.

Also, all salvage, inspiration and enhancement storage racks count towards the same limit. So if your plot allows for 10 racks, you can either have 10 salvage racks, or 5 salvage racks and 5 enhancement racks, or some other combination that adds up to a maximum of 10. Personal salvage storage vaults do not count towards this maximum, if I recall correctly, as the items inside are not actually stored by the base but in your character's bank.

Someone else should be a long shortly to tell you the maximum number of storage items per plot size, as I do not personally know.

Actually, no, I've never seen it limited by the size of the plot. It's 18 total storage items if you can make them all fit on whatever soze plot and never grows larger than that, sorry.

It can be limited by the ROOM. Your standard 2X2 Workshop can only hold 9 storage items, although they can be mixed as Chad noted. To hold the maximum number of storage items, you need 2 of these rooms - that is 2 rooms X 9 storage = 18 total storage items.

Some other rooms also take storage items - it's listed on the Detail portion for that room in the base editor. I know that the Oversight Room can hold 1 storage, Control Rooms & Energy Rooms can hold 1 storage, at least one of the medical Rooms can hold 1 storage. Transport Rooms do not hold storage, nor does the Entry Room or any Decorative Room.

You can only have 1 Vault ( and a second one would be pointless, as they access the same storage space as the one in the Vault Reserve, and a second one adds nothing).

An "Invention Table" isn't a storage item (it's a different class of item called "workshop" IIRC) and does not count against your 18 storage item total - again, this makes sense, since you aren't storing anything in it, just using it to make stuff to store.

Here is the general Wiki link regarding bases - you can drill down further from there:

Correct. The first limiter is the number of storage items allowed for a room, but the ceiling is always 18 items, regardless of plot size.

Ah, thanks for correcting me.

I knew that rooms had something to do with it, but I had nagging doubt that I'd remembered wrong.

Thanks to the Search function, I don't have to post my question regarding limits on storage items in a base. This thread answered my question.

See? the search function does work!
