When I figure it I come up with something a little different. I get

130.329832319763% recharge to yield a recharge time for domination of 86.832s
  2. I am still in favor of gambling houses with pvp games and pve games. They work irl to suck lots of cash from folks. Why not in game too?

I made some changes to your build. For the power choice, I would drop resurgence and take dark obliteration. I think energy melee needs another AoE attack.
    nice one

Nice choice with dark obliteration as well

  7. LotG bonuses are different than other 7.5% bonuses
    rule of five still applies
  8. w/ the PVPIOs the lvl is irrelevant when it comes to the special IOs. Even though it may be a global, it is not limited by its level like regular globals.

What does your friend intend to do with this brute? How will it be played?
  13. How is it done?

Is there a formula or something more elegant than trial and error?
  14. lol

I had problem with a site's security certificate which led me to find the error.
I was making plans and had accidentally changed the date on my computer.
  15. It shows my currently logged on character as having been offline for 67 and 68 days. It switches while I watch it.
It seems to have added 68 days to all toons offline time.

In an abundance of caution, I have left my toon logged on in a mish so that VG leadership doesn't transfer accidentally.

I'm really glad I asked about this.
I could be wrong. I don't think I am, but it has happened before.

The only use I can think of in PVE is if you want to have something to cover the time it takes for hide to restart once it has been broken--8 sec iirc (or maybe 10).
I don't think many stalkers bother with this though.

Now I gave 3 days of my time seeing what effect I could have on certain piece of salvage (Temporal Tracers) and how much profit I could make out of it.

    This is how it went:-

Day 1 saw 1053 pieces for sale, 35 bidders and the current price for these was 1k. I then proceeded to buy up these with 10 alts and relist them for 250k.

Day 2 saw 675 pieces, 186 bidders with current selling price of 300k. I still had 4 alts worth left of salvage.

Day 3 saw 800 pieces for sale, 345 bidders with a current selling price 300k-500k 0 salvage left.

Final accumlation saw that I had pocketed over 2bn in 3 days, and that I had risen that salvage from a comfortable 1k to anywhere from 300k-500k.

Now I am heavily in pocket (yay me) but I failed to see how I benefited the market.

Is this the way to work the market or did I do a no-no?
As far as benefiting the market, I am sure that sellers of temporal tracers were happy about it.

To be fair, he didn't say that he didn't take any losses.
He didn't tell us his buying cost--the price that anyone could be getting it for while he was experimenting.
And he didn't tell us what his investment was. How much money was spent acquiring these things.

So we really don't have a P&L statement or any knowledge of how long each day he didn't have bids out.

I notice that super speed drops your threat level instead of only adding to your stealth radius, but concealment uses less end so you could have it going all the time.
Or you could just get a stealth IO.

But outside of PVP I don't know what you need the extra sneakiness for. Can you explain?

In PVP, there'r varying levels of perception amongst the players so it can be really useful to stack stealths like hide + stealth + stealth IO.
Iirc, the PVE enemies that can see through hide can see through hide plus whatever.

That's a huge selling point for me. It's by far the best use of most of my salvage afaict.

I just craft til I run out of powers to get. There are some I really like, but I take w/e I can get. It's faster and often more useful than vendoring the crap.
  20. I would love to see it.

    I will wait.

I am familiar with the explanation. What it doesn't take into account is opportunity costs.
At a certain point the benefit to your toon's over all playability is less from another drop of defense than a drop of recharge, or damage or acc or hold or whatever. Where that point is is highly variable. But at some point enough is enough.

I have seen toons that have gimped their attack chains or whatnot just to reach the magical soft cap.

Also, depending on your playstyle, you may not notice the difference between 35% and 36% or 43% and 45%. If you're not pushing the top end of what you take on, then you have a lot of def 'sitting idle' so to speak. You could survive just as much with less def. If, in the course of your normal play, the damage that makes it through is entirely survivable, does it matter if your def is 1% or 25% or 45%?
If you're not pushing the limits of your toon, you will probably not notice that much difference in survivability in actual play when it comes to 1 or 2 percentage points despite what the numbers say in theory.
IOW, being able to survive twice as much incoming potential damage only really matters if you're actually going to face twice as much incoming potential damage.

Also, some combinations of res and def below the soft cap can be as strong as or even stronger than def soft cap alone when it comes to survivability.

Def is very nice, but one or two more points of def isn't always the best choice for a toon. Whether that amount of def is worth the opportunity cost is for each player to say for each particular toon. There's not a pat blanket answer.
  22. Accuracy and tohit are different.
    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Attack_Mechanics

In general, 1 Acc SO is sufficient accuracy.
If you fight over your level, you may want more. Usually no more that 2 Acc SOs.
from here, http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Attack...cs#Data_Tables you can see that 2 lvl 50 Acc IOs will get you to above 'regular' levels with +4 critters

In addition to Acc, you can get the Kismet enhancement that gives you +tohit.

    Any +tohit is 'enough.'

Perhaps your friend lacks sufficient accuracy or is fighting critters with -tohit?

If you haven't slotted your greens to max, then it will help. The weaker your green (heal) slotting is, the more it will help.

If you're maxed already, it won't help too much.
