PvP +3 def IO level
The only potential problem I can think of would be if you wanted to sell it on the market (which I doubt you do) because stuff often sells for more at max level.
With something like this though, my understanding is that with A-merits, getting it at level 10 is the done thing for precisely the reasons you mention.

Yep. And given the rarified market for these, I think you are likely to find people who really don't give a damn what level it is. If you can find someone in the know, they may actually pay you more for a minimum level one. That is what tends to happen with pool C stuff that follows these rules - the sale rate is lower, but the price you can get is generally higher.

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like I may as well go for minimum level.
With regards to selling, I don't PLAN on ever selling this thing but...
Never say never I guess. It's a minor concern whatever the case.

w/ the PVPIOs the lvl is irrelevant when it comes to the special IOs. Even though it may be a global, it is not limited by its level like regular globals.
Does anyone know of any reason NOT to buy this at it's minimum level (level 30) to make it that little bit easier if I ever feel like actually leveling a build with it?

If there's any exemping/derating effect, it's clearly better to get this at level 50. |
I know the steadfast equivalent has no such derating, but given just how much this damn thing costs, I figure I should double or even quadruple check. |
PVP IOs and Purples both follow the same rules: The enhancement values scale down as you exemplar, just like any other enhancement, but the set bonuses (including one-piece set bonuses like the one you're asking about) remain while exemplared to any level.
For more detailed information, see this page on the wiki.
@Roderick
You know, I knew PvPOs didn't care about exemplar, but for some reason I never made the connection that would mean the level of this thing wouldn't matter.

Level 10 is best.
You can slot it sooner, and there isn't any 'enhancement value' to the IO, it only gives "tp protection" and the nice 3%def bonus.

So... after much ado, I've finally saved enough A-merits to buy one of these overpriced little gems.
Before I drop all those hard won merits, I had a question:
Does anyone know of any reason NOT to buy this at it's minimum level (level 30) to make it that little bit easier if I ever feel like actually leveling a build with it?
