Ok, so here are my two builds for PvP & PvE. My main focus was recharge (for attacks and healing flames), resistance for psi & toxic, and end recovery. Tell me what you think.

I don't play this game a lot so I don't really have the time to spend trying to master Dark Armor. However, when I'm done with my current build, I'm going to give /DA another whirl but might end up using Dark Melee.
Ok. They do go together perfectly. If you get a chance though I know that fire or elec if you're into them wouldnt be so bad either. Stone may be a good combo as well. Prior to IO's 2 end redux in each armor helped me a lot. Good luck with your WP (I know you don't need it lol)

    Claws/Fiery Aura

Alright, before I get all kinda laughed at let me say this first:

I was never a claws fan. The lethal, the whole look of them just bothered me. They made it so you could have different types of claws and still it was hard! I tried it the other day and made a Claws/DA (like Bill Z) and I liked it! I thought to myself, "How can I make a Claws brute and get a little more dmg out of it?"

So I re-rolled and did Claws/FA for the Fiery Embrace (the Mid's numbers dont look to bad if they are correct) fiery embrace + follow up. I have a PvE build & PvP build, but in general I'd like to know any feedback on this combo. I'm very aware the FA isn't the best of armors for protection but I was curious and interested.

    Any feedback I'd love!
  5. Too squishy compared to what? No, they aren't too squishy depending on how you trying to play him. Get aidself if its a big concern.

I agree with most of the statements on this thread I will also tell you this: if this is for PVE you will be just fine. Earthquake will save your life all by itself.

    (3) What slotting for Levitate and Force Bolt is recommended IO-wise?
    (4) Is the detention bubble useful in PvP? Does it actually work on anyone?
    (5) Does Terrify have a use and how would you slot it?
    (6) Epic choice recommendations?
    (7) For shields, in PvP, do they help teammates enough to matter. I would get them for a Pve build, but for the PvP build, if they don't help, I may skip as I hear defense isn't too useful in PvP. If you and I were on the same team, would you be expecting me to bubble you in otherwords.
    (8) Finally, any slotting recommendations for TK.

    Thanks in advance.
    1) I'm not exactly sure. It still can be useful when you're in a jam! I usually slot mine with 3 Defense IO's.
    2) To my knowledge yes, as long as you aren't getting pounded by a lot (like more then 4-5?) of holds, etc.
    3) For Leviate and Forcebolt I suggest 6 slot kinetic crash since it gives the recharge and KB prot bonuses.
    4) My experience with intangibles and the sort are they only last a week seconds. I'm not sure if its worth it I took it off my /dark.
    5) I love Terrify! I usually do mine just with glimpse of the abyss. 5 slots only usually.
    6) Epics Id either go psychic for the extra mez protection, primal for powerboost to beef up your holds and buffs, or stone for rock armor ( + def) and earths embrace.
    7) Every little bit helps! I find those bubbles to be very helpful personally even in PvP.
    8) A couple of issues back for PvP TK actually use to own, used it lately and its almost like it doesn't work at all. I dunno anyone else take on this but I just slot 3 end redux.

Here you go. The stealth is the a personally prefence and I'm sure the HO could be taken out for something more helpful.

    Sm/da

I know I will get some snickers, but I wanted to try out a a stone/dark brute. I really just wanted to know about the effectiveness of OP and stone stuns pve/pvp & how good the psi proc in CoF is. If anyone has experience with it or numbers I would appreciate that feedback.

    Thanks!
  9. Amir

    ??/DA

So a month later, what did you choose?
  10. Amir

    Ss / sr ?

    Hey hey!!!

I actually made one of this he is now 32 and I honestly dont have any complaints. My rage stacks, which wasnt hard to do after a few levels and since Virtue is kinda low on population I solo a lot and do fine.

One down side I do notice right now having to pop a green every once in awhile...but I'm sure after my full build gets in I won't have to do that. I'm going to post mine up as soon as I get home for you.
  11. Amir

    Ice/ Thorn

Nope you won't! That combo slays everyone and everything! I tried to make one a few times and the weird draws of the /thorns was the only thing that held me back. I wish I could make one and keep with it!
  12. Had travel suppression? I havent played my other kin in a minute. Did they take away the travel suppression??
  13. Anyone got a Dark/Kinetics guide?
  14. Amir

    Dark/?

I'd agree /kinetics is really fast paced for a first time player. I am making one though very soon

But if you want something kind of solo like I strongly suggest /rad. It's very "I can do bad all by myself." /storm is good too (was a little slow for me). /thermal is another very good one. /sonic, /pain, & /cold give me buff bot... I dunno if you like that kind thing but you could look into it.

I had a friend who made a dark/traps and he seemed to like it a lot too. /Traps can solo for corrs and I've seen it done. And of course, dark/dark is a classic. You can solo with this too.

/trick arrow just isnt sexy IMO.

It really depends on what kind of play style you feel would suite you and what secondary really interests you from start to finish.
  15. May I asked whatever became of this? I was thinking of rolling a Dark.Kin corr myself.
  16. Amir

    Grav/elec dom

I also recently rolled a grav/elec. I'll definetly consider taking out the AoE immob later for something else. I really wanna ask about static discharge....is it skippable? I planned on using it for an end drainer it says it does -100% recovery to a target. Any suggestions?
  17. Just as a personal preference, I would take out some things to get in at least combat jumping, boxing and tough.

About fire breath, it is a cool power but to be effective done you have to jump out of the mob to hit the mob you gathered better and jump back in?
  18. I understand the angle behind this, I used to feel this way about someone who didn't fully utilize their build IMO. For example. a corrupter player who doesn't utilize their attacks and uses all heals, or a dominator player who on teams uses more assault powers and hardly any holds. I understand the logic...but, if they are contributing cool...and eventhough its kinda like "ugh" everyone is entitled to play how they desire.

    Grav/Ice Build

You can really focus on your assault powers early as there's not many 'must haves' to take from your primary until after 20.

/ice has ice sword circle for PBAoE at lvl 4... earliest you can get one

Frost Breath and dmg proc'd Crushing Field will give you some decent early ranged AoE. Add in your patron AoE later.

Between those and the swords, you can pick melee or ranged or both.

Only secondary power you can skip without blinking is chilling embrace. The others are good to great powers. And you don't have to worry yourself with taking a snipe or not.

Primary you take grav distortion, wormhole, singularity, grav distortion field for sure. Crushing Field is nice if you proc it up. Then, you can take 1 (maybe more) of the following 3: crush, lift, propel. It depends on your play style and what you like. Early in your career, you'll probably want crush and propel for their control features. You can respec out of them later. Skip Dimension Shift or face ridicule.

    That about sums it up.
Thanks! I was thinking of taking Chilling Embrace for maybe the chance someone would get in melee range of me and it would be an added slow. Is that maybe not a good idea?
  20. Just curious to those who have tried them, know the numbers, etc.

They may not be better then eachother, but which do you prefer? Like?

What aspects do you like about them? Or not like? Feedback please!

    ---als0

I'm seeing some of these dom PvP builds were some focus on defense, resitance patron pool powers and some even use aid self. I 'spec'd out of Mace because the defense wasn't working for me and went back to scirocco for charged armor and surge of power. I would like some tips on uping the resistance of my mind/psi to help him out. He his power pools are concealmeant, speed, leaping, and stamina. I am so tired of respec'ing him and finally am not too proud to say I need help.
  21. Oh now I get it! The forum posts about nothing is what gets everyone going! No reason why there should be 3 pages of forums for this! No reason at all!

    Grav/Ice Build

    Hello!

So for i16, I'm going to make a grav/ice with themed black powers and the main goal is to have slows everywhere!

I want to know if anyone has experience in as much detail as you can give for this combo. I want to know what I can look forward to, not take, etc.

    Thanks!!

True I totally agree. The refernce to CoF and OG is just to say if Dark armor can be a brute, so can Ice armor.
