Just curious to those who have tried them, know the numbers, etc.

They may not be better then eachother, but which do you prefer? Like?

What aspects do you like about them? Or not like? Feedback please!

I'm seeing some of these dom PvP builds were some focus on defense, resitance patron pool powers and some even use aid self. I 'spec'd out of Mace because the defense wasn't working for me and went back to scirocco for charged armor and surge of power. I would like some tips on uping the resistance of my mind/psi to help him out. He his power pools are concealmeant, speed, leaping, and stamina. I am so tired of respec'ing him and finally am not too proud to say I need help.

Love my mind/nrg SP3 dom. Mind warp the enemies then blast em to bits with the energy blasts now that energy received the buff it long needed.

Mind/Psi has it's benefits, and /psi was recently adjusted for better overall performance instead of blooming only after getting its Tier 9 power. If you are looking for a dom as a farmer, go fire/psi or possibly wait for the new Earth Assault power set.

Depends on what you want to do with the set.

Energy is melee range single target damage with short range single target blasts, and effectively no secondary effect - once you immobilize them your primary negates the secondary effect unless you're Grav/. Good single target damage, highly resisted damage types (smashing and energy). Energy also gets Power Boost, which can make it attractive to PVPers or people who plan to mez AVs during the LRSF.

Psi is neither bird nor beast. It's got weak single target melee, weak single target ranged, and weak aoe now that PSW was nerfed. However, it pierces through the armor of pretty much everything that isn't a robot, so the damage is more consistent regardless of what you're fighting. The secondary effect is -recharge, which can be powerful; an immobilized enemy with a lot of -recharge stacked on them will end up attacking with only their ranged weapon and only about half as often. It's also got Drain Psyche, which is very nice for boosting your regen and recovery, as well as powerful for draining an AVs regen.

If I were rolling another mind/, I'd go Mind/Fire. Skip Combustion, and you don't have to run into range; the fire ticks mess up Terrify, but you can slot it for damage anyway. This gives you a couple of the least resisted damage types on the same character, which helps avoid the robot problem.

/Psi has better AoE than energy, gives you regeneration to heal back damage, and allows you to bypass stamina. It has a decent ability for a ranged attack chain, especially with levitate. It has no way to boost your abilities, and not much for melee. It does decent damage, but the things psy resistant are usually HIGHLY psy resistant. Oh, yes...as a mind/psy you can help control most Av's (Through mesmerize) and help take the AV down, with drain psyche's -regen helping damage go further.

/Nrg has better single target damage, control, and a damage type not as highly resisted as /psi. Power boost will boost the already powerful lockdown in mind/, making you the best build in-game for locking down AV's. (With a lot of investment, mind you.) Power boost+mesmerize+domination will make almost anything in-game snooze, irregardless of triangles. If you can get enough recharge, you can even control through triangles. /Nrg is very good at melee as well.

My 'main' is a mind/psi, whom I prefer to most everything in the game. The lack of need for stamina is a big one for me, as I can get many more powers. I also love the +regen with mind/ since most things get locked down, the few that get through are easily recovered from. /Psi, despite the things that resist it, does very well against most everything in-game.

I started a new mind/nrg with the changes, but have not brought him far yet. I was interested in the combo when I saw all the things players had done with it, and after playing energy melee on my secondary go-to character. It's good so far, but I'm still sticking with my mind/psi.

I'm new to Mind/Psi and I find myself low on End fairly often. I assume Drain Psyche is the reason why you say we can skip Stamina, but I'm not exactly sure how to do that. Would you mind explaining it please? I'm one of those guys who always runs Hasten and prefers not to slot EndRedux into his powers, so maybe that's my problem, but I'm sure I can learn a few things (e.g. how to slot and use DP) from veterans like you.

Drain Psyche will let you get rid of Stamina, but it needs to recharge reasonably quickly to allow it. I would recommend you start out with Stamina and respec it out if you go to a heavy recharge build down the track.

Do what?

80,70,80,40 blast ranges on NRG

Is there a better single target ranged set?

Fire comes close, but you don't get near the utility out of blazing bolt. Without BB, fire doesn't stand up.

Once you get drain psyche, it gives about a good amount of +recovery per target. As a dominator with a full end refill bar, you can juggle between those two options rather easily. By the way, slot psyche for accuracy, and heavily for recharge asap. I found an easy way to leverage it for my own was one accuracy, and 5 doctored wounds, using as many recharge recipes from the set as possible. The +regen is nice, as hitting 2 or three with drain psyche makes any +recovery superfluous to end use, in my experience.

This said, I do slot for endurance and have avoided hasten due to its visuals-the end hit will make skipping stamina tougher. My advice? slot sets, where you get +recharge and endurance/recharge reducers. Sleep/fear/confuse sets are very affordable, and give good choices for this.

Thanks for the info. Would you mind giving me an inexpensive IO tweak on this build?

I am considering to respec my post Dom-Buff Mind/Psi...Is the Shark's Skin power offering +Res to all dmg and what is the slotted value? I am thinking that 25% +Res to a Dom is good. I am thinking that Bile Spray will pair nicely with Psi Scream and Terrify

I am running Stamina+DP together and I dont see a problem,
I hit Total Dom-->Hasten-->DP and then mass confusion and start spamming AoE and PSW like no ones bussiness and just pick off the rest of my troubles with Mind Probe and my single target controls that are heavy hitters.

I happen to have both of these type of toons right now. Neither is above say 20th yet, but they both felt strong right out of the gate, none of that "omg I sooo wish I was 25th already!" stuff (yet).
