  1. Do not exit a mission until you are ready to move on to the next mission or log. This applies especially if you have the letters def in your archtype name and even more so if you have emp in your description.
  2. Don't ask where the Hollows are, when you have a map and two eyes. (sorry, I know this is sort of a legit question but it just ticks me off)

    Do not send a tell with an invite right behind it when someone has in their search comments, "No blind invites."

    Do not expect that someone will want to sk with you, just because its uber XP!

    If you're a level 9 ish person and you see people fighting a level 26 group/ambush, don't attack, you're wasting your time.
  3. More experienced players should not type /unhide

    Hold conversations between yourself and one other person over broadcast. If holding it with multiple recepients it should be kept as brief as possible.

    You shouldn't forget to switch to Team Chat when you join a team. People don't want to hear it on Request and Broadcast.

    Do NOT powerlevel in any way, whether it be asking or participating(just my opinion)

    Do not try to tank with a blaster.

    Do not try to herd the entire map, even though thats not possible anymore.

    Badge Questions

    Hi Posi,

    Any chance the Shadow Shard TF badges will be made better? They are just big exploration badges and well they look kinda cheesy. I am happy they give a badge though, so I'm not complaining, just wishing.

    Don't know if this has been asked yet, but can we get badges for collecting 300, 400, etc. badges?
  5. One small thing, I believe the duration of Hibernate is 30 seconds, at least thats what the Hero Builder is telling me and thats what it seems like when I use it.

    Missions spawn ambushes more than TFs, also the number of ambushes you get hit by increases as you get higher in level. And finally, you can have an ambush while in a mission, not just before it or after it.

If you start a task force, you wont be able to stop it and restart it again, you'll have to do it all over again. Completing a task force ends in a badge, and is a great, easy way to level.

    Capes are unlocked at 20, along with another costume, aura's at 30, if you know when exactly the other two costume slots open, tell me.

    First, ICON is in Steel, IP and Founder's Falls
    Second, Baddies in steel canyon range from lvl 10-19.
    Third, Capes and your second costume are not unlocked simultaneously, you have to do separate missions for them.
    Third costume slot can be unlocked at lvl 30 in IP, and 4th can be unlocked in Founder's Falls at lvl 40.

    A respec can be gained by doing a trial at level 24(?), or sometimes after an issue goes onto the live servers because of the amount of buff's or nerf's you will be given a respec because of this. The Respec is a thing accessed at "Jack Wolfe" in freedom plaza in galaxy city, it allows you to rechoose the powers and slotting choices you made or messed up on, but it wont let you rechoose your Archetype or Powersets.     Jack Wolfe in Galaxy City is only for earned respecs that you obtain by doing the TFs, free respecs can be used by typing /respec

    Ice Tankers and SR Scrappers have long lamented that Defense doesn't scale with level. Because mobs higher level than a player possess an inherent to hit bonus, Defense isn't as effective over levels as Resistance.

    A while ago, peoople have requested something be done. Well, we've done a bunch of work and done this. Defense powers will now work equally well against critters, regardless of their rank or level. For instance, your defense powers will work equally well against a Boss or any critter up to 5 levels higher than you, as it does for an equal level minion. This change has no effect on a player who does not have any Defense.

If the team size and mission difficulty are ABOVE a certain level, an Archvillain spawns. Below that, players will face only an Elite Boss. If the mission is set on the first two levels of difficulty, it takes 4 heroes or more to spawn an Arch Villain. On the third level, 3 heroes or more. On the fourth level, 2 heroes. On the highest (Invincible), a solo hero will spawn an AV. Note this works in BOTH City of Heroes and Villains.

    In order to incentivize larger teams, Positron is going to add a bonus to AV rewards!

    33.) Randomly quit the team and ask to be reinvited over and over.

    That might be what's been causing my pain, I'll have to take a look at it again. Against an even con minion I would sometimes miss 6-12 times in a row even if I had an accuracy enh in the power, and it would be against a minion I knew for a fact had no defense/res against that particular type of damage/attack. I'll have to see though if its the initial period of time that I'm attacking them that I'm getting all the whiffing. If that is the case, this will fix it for me.

  16. First, I know this isn't a question but let me just say I've been going through the Kheldian Story arcs and I must say, very well done, very interesting. Good story arcs that are short but not too short and are fun to do, very nice job.

    1.) You speak of this rivalry that the gangs have but yet many of the story arcs only seem to brush against those rivalries, will we see a greater story/trial that goes more in depth as to how these gangs tie together?

    2.) In the Tsoo story arcs, their leader(sorry I can't remember his name offhand) is mentioned but yet we never see him. Will we ever see him as a boss or an AV in any story arcs?

    3.) And just one more quick one, which trial/taskforce is your personal favorite? Is it your own?
  17. couple of noob questions, what lvl do you have to be to get in the shadow shard and what lvl should you be to do the TFs? And is there any upper limit for the TFs where if you're beyond that lvl you can't do them?
  18. I remember being a tank in Perez at lvl 7 and rezzing right in the middle of a group of bad guys thinking they'd give me a chance to heal.

    I remember the Rularuu invasion where unlike the WL event, heroes of all lvls were fighting side by side united against a common enemy, where the word killstealer meant little or nothing.

    I have seen the number crunching and the many personal arguments going out on the forum. From the stand point of a former game devleoper and fan of CoH here is my recomendation.

    Super Strength has always been an un-popular secondary. Conceptitually it is great: in practise the advantages don't make it a good choice for anyone.

    As a Firey Aura Tanker, I would have been better off with Fire Melee if I was seeking DPS. As it was I was looking for a cool character who could punch out the bad guys. I found one. At level 20, Super Strength gets KO Blow which is nice but not set defining power.

    Rage is the set defining power for Super Strength and an oppurtunity for the developers to get people really excited about the secondary again.

    How to do it? Balance is important, but every set has its good powers, so -so powers and REALLY good powers.

    Rage should be one of the better ones because Super Strength has got a reputation for poor performance.

    Rage can change all that. It doesn't have to be Unstoppable, but lets face it - at level 28 Regen Scrappers get an AWESOME power in their Secondary - why can't the SS line get a decent pick?

    Many Powers are balanced in relation to other similar powers in pool sets.

    The relationship between Hasten and Rage is clear - both increase your combat effectiveness. Both last for 2 minutes. Both have a cost to be paid after the power has run its course.

    But Hasten is an over used pool power and Rage is (or should be ) set-defining for Super Strength.

    I would try something like:

    Bonuses: +80% base damage, +25% Acc for two minutes
    Cost: 20 End when the rage finishes to show the exaustion created by such intense... Ragin'

    Period. One bounus and one cost. Just like everyone elses powers...

    That is what I would do.

    Now, Tankers will still have to manage their end because if Hasten and Rage dump your End at the same time, you lose your toggles and go to the Hospital.

I've never had a character with Rage, but I understand it's similar. I have had that disquieting experience of being in the thick of battle when unstoppable runs out.

    How hard would it be for click powers to change colors or something when there's 30 seconds left, and start flashing or something when there's 15 seconds left.

    The power I've had the most experience with is Unstoppable, I've gotten a pretty idea of when its about to run out based on how long its been recharging. True though if you're ina big battle you're not going to pay as much attention, and usually get caught offguard.

    Changes to Rage

    I understand what is trying to be done with Rage but I definitely agree that whats going on on the test server is NOT the answer. Alot of good suggestions have been given already from a smaller end drain, to reduced dmg after it wears off, to not being able to recover end for a short time. Rage is not a good enough power to warrant a huge disadvantage at its end. Hasten, as it was mentioned, is definitely the best comparison.
