    MA license?

It's also available if you have 8 Paragon Reward Tokens. Since all players start with one and you get a bonus one for purchasing any amount of points you need six more you'd need to buy 7200 points which would cost $80.

Not really. People solo because they like to solo. People team because they like to team.

In my experience people who aren't interested in teaming either don't roll support characters at all, limit themselves to those support characters that solo well or just accept slow soloing. I've never heard of someone who said "I hate teaming but I really, really want to play an Empath so I rolled one and always team with him while hating every second of it".

Also anecdotally when it comes to teaming I see a lot more strong solo characters than I do strong support characters especially at high level and Incarnate content. To me this indicates that a lot of people are rolling characters based in a large part on solo performance and then teaming with them.

The fact is in a game where a single character can solo content intended for a team of eight there's no real "need" to team at all. Most people who do so either do it for the specific rewards of, more likely, because they enjoy teaming.

Here's my take on it. Ninjitsu is to Super Reflexes as Dark Armor is to Electric Armor. Ninjitsu and Dark Armor are both sets that have less passive survival (defense and resistance) than other Armor sets but make up for it with a certain amount of control. It's not a perfect analogy but that's how I'd play it.

Given that there are three powers that should probably be changed: Hide, Caltrops and Smoke Flash.
    • Hide is pretty simple, replace it with a more generic stealth power, basically a clone of Energy Cloak.
    • Smoke Flash has the problem that Placate is a lot less useful to Scrappers than it is to Stalkers (and lets face it Smoke Flash isn't that great anyway). To that end I'd probably replace it with a Stun Grenade style power (possibly still PBAoE to keep with the theme).
    • Finally Caltrops. This would actually be fine except that the devs have a rule against duplicating powers for a single character. Now for a replacement I'd give it a PBAoE Terrorize power. Maybe I'm seen Batman Begins to much but I like the idea of a Ninja that is capable of instilling great fear in his enemies before beating them up.

Now obviously this would need to be combined with a bit of power reordering as well.

The nice thing here is that doing it this way would open the way for a Brute/Tanker Proliferation as well, you'd just need to add a Taunt aura to Ninja Reflexes or Danger Sense.
  4. True, I was thinking more in terms of a Cimeroria like setup where you have a whole zone dedicated to it but with different Hero/Villain content instead of the ITF.
  5. That would actually be pretty cool. I'm not entirely sure how the arcs would play out though. The Mu vs. Oranbega war doesn't really have any good guys which would make it hard to find someone for Heroes to side with (Villains could happily help either side in exchange for magical power).

These are all globals which means that they will work even if the power is off. They will also work if the power is unavailable due to exemplaring. BUT they will stop working if you exemplar more than 3 levels below the level of the IO (except for the Gladiator's Armor IO which is a PvPIO and as such ignores the normal exemplaring restrictions).
  7. Yeah you definitely need a Defender. Try a Time/Electric it makes a nice tough melee range Defender so you'll probably enjoy it .
  8. Yeah Bot or Thugs paired with Traps, Time or Force Field are the top contenders. Demons do ok as well. Storm and Dark are also reasonably effective for it but Storm is hard to play and Dark is more vulnerable to mezzes.

They could do some even more complex things than that but what I'm getting at is that I don't think the designers would find this to be a problem that is worth the kind of programming investment that a solution would require.
Standard Code Rant applies here, we have no clue HOW difficult it would be and given that we don't have any powers with a variable radius other than cones I'm inclined to suspect that the answer is "very difficult".

That being said I think that there may be a way to at least allow it to have two radii (one for standard enemies and one for very large enemies). These powers (and others like them) work by summoning a pseudo-pet at the target location. We know that is possible for a power to have different effects based on tags on the enemy. Given this it should be possible to have Transfusion (and other similar powers) do a check to see if the target has a specific tag and if so summon a different pseudo pet with a larger radius. Now obviously this would be a lot of work, all the larger enemies would need to have this tag added to them and all the affected powers would need to get this feature added to them.

  11. Yeah an update to the respec system would be awesome. The big question is how viable is that to actually do?

Maybe. Actually I'd be tempted to say leave Holds as is for Players but for NPCs all Hold powers turn into a power that both Stuns and Immobilizes the target. That way Immobilization can be left as it is (since we don't really want that taking away powers) and there is still a concrete difference between a "Stun" and a "Hold" since even if both take away the same powers the Hold requires separate protection to avoid being immobile while the Stun doesn't.
  14. See this is why almost all of my characters take Vengeance. Someone dies to the swords, I pop Venge and then I have enough Defense to handle the swords.

Yeah but she's the archetypical Villain with Good Publicity. The whole point of the TF is that you spend ages trying to catch her and she's always one step ahead. As others have said a short cutscene to establish that she is staying out of it and maybe something to introduce Hopkins a bit earlier in the TF would be nice but I don't think we need to fight her there.

Besides it would spoil the surprise in Janet Kellum's arc (it's a pity that the arc is so long because the story behind Countess Crey is actually very interesting).
  16. Personally I think they should wait a while after the costume rotates out of the Tier 9 VIP slot (say 12 months) and then bring it back as a Tier 9 Non-VIP option for a period of time.

That way VIPs get 18 months or so of exclusivity and then it opens up to other long term customers without being open to all.
  17. Yeah I burned a few billion Inf on prestige for my base. Of course these days I mostly just use it to store enhancements.

Yeah Mothership Raids are the one place where Incandescence is EXTREMELY useful. I'm planning to make it on a few characters just for that.
  19. I know I spent a few hundred on points when Freedom first came out in order to get up to Tier 9 (well mainly Tier 8 for the Remote Auction House but it wasn't that much more to get to Tier 9). To be honest I mostly bought the points for the Paragon Reward Tokens, I did spend some of the points on stuff (mostly extra storage and a few dozen Super Packs) but I'm still sitting on a pretty large stockpile of points.

It's an interesting idea. The one thing that I think would be annoying is detoggling. A lot of my characters have toggles quite late in their build (such as resistance shields for Blasters). Currently mezzes just suppress those toggles without actually detoggling them but if the mez actually disabled the power then I'd have to re-toggle it which would be annoying. So long as the system could work by disabling click powers and suppressing toggles I think it would be ok though.

The other concern I'd have is that it seems to unduly penalize low level characters compared to high levels. A low level character could easily end up in a situation similar to today where all powers are disabled while a lot of high level characters would be barely impacted by it. Blasters would be ok assuming that Defiance continued to protect their low level powers but other ATs might not.
  21. I'm not sure if this is what you want but Zombie Man has a guide to the different Arcs and what order you need to do them in to avoid getting locked out. Is that what you want?

I suspect that you can. I know that I can use that bug to double stack the ally shields on my characters that have those powers.

Having at least 3 Single target powers is kind of important.
Well when I think about a Rocket Launcher Blast set my first thought is of something similar to Titan Weapons: more AoE than most sets but somewhat slow to compensate. Now that being said Blast sets are not Melee sets and the nature of the ATs using them makes a direct Titan Weapons style set impractical (in particular AoEs for the Tier 1 and 2 would probably be to good for Blasters while anything like Momentum would pose issues for Defenders and Corruptors).

For Single Target attacks I think it would be possible to come up with a few ideas like Armor Piercing Missile.
  25. Well the good news is that according to Synapse Time Bomb is high on their list of things to fix (I25 mentioned as a possibility but no guarantee) so it seems likely that a change will be a matter of not if but when.

Speaking for myself with the I24 changes I feel like Devices is in a pretty good place. Gun Drone now actually works quite well. Field Operative is my favorite of the Sustains (because it isn't a click power and allows me to use my Debuffs and my sustain independently). Caltrops is still awesome, Smoke Grenade is a decent AoE debuff and Web Grenade is better than the other Tier 1 Immobs at high level (low level the lack of damage is annoying but at high level having a strong debuff is more useful than a weak attack).

The only weak powers are Trip Mines and Time Bomb but even without them Devices is a good set. If Synapse changes Time Bomb to make it useable in a fast-paced combat environment (which is his stated goal) then I'll be ecstatic. I think changing Time Bomb and leaving Trip Mine alone makes sense. There's a fast-paced power for those that want it and a slower power for those who prefer that.

    Oh and:
