don'T attempt to read tHis mEssaGe, And believe Me, it is not a codE.
For me personally
FF, Traps, or Time secondaries work the best for me. If you are getting hit, you don't also want your pets getting hit with the same AOE's so you want to get their defense up as high as possible.
FF, will be easy to cap their defense, Gives you a good start on defense, personal FF, and...well definitely helps your team from lvl 1-50
Traps, good defense and other mitigation, Acid mortar to take alpha, +regen for all, lots of fun toys,
Time, a beast at high levels, effectively cap your pets with farsight, powerboost, and time's juncture + uniques, group heal is more effective in BG mode because you know everyone is taking damage...so less heal wasted, great -res power....Time was my favorite MM secondary....we'll see if Nature Affinity comes close.
All that said, the new Nature affinity, wow is it impressing me as a MM Primary. I've tanked on a few teams...well, more I just took all the alpha's because of our lack of a melee character, but very effective at higher levels as well.
I like the pets that have +def with them, bots/Thugs, because they allow the pets to be hit less often while they are taking the damage for you.
Also, I believe, and please correct me if I'm wrong someone PET RESISTS DO NOT LESSEN THE PORTION OF THE DAMAGE THEY TAKE FROM BG.
SO with a pet with higher resists instead of +Def, they are getting hit more often themselves, and also still taking full damage from you. (I could be wrong)
Thugs/Time would actually be a pretty sweet combo for Tanker minding I think...I've never leveled one but I'm going to try to come up with a build today (Yay possible new project!) I like thugs over Bots because thugs has gangwar which accepts the recharge intensive pet sets.
Motivation is the art of getting people to do what you want them to do because they want to do it.
Yeah Bot or Thugs paired with Traps, Time or Force Field are the top contenders. Demons do ok as well. Storm and Dark are also reasonably effective for it but Storm is hard to play and Dark is more vulnerable to mezzes.

To get things straight I've already two mms. The higher is a beasts/dark at level 33, the other is a tryout of a bots/ff, since I always heard about that combination, only at level 9.
Fact is that so far I feel better tanking with the beast/dark, 'cause with shadow fall + darkest night and the ability to heal with twilight grasp is a big deal.
Tho I agree on the mez part, it's the real deal I'm facing now since at high level almost all mobs have one way or another to mez you.
I understand that the bot is still very low to make the difference, but so far without the second bot to use the shield on me, almost everything mobs shoot at me it's a hit and without any healing power it's a problem. With him for now I feel safer to send them on aggressive, since I already have two shields to use on them, and keep lius at bay knocking them down with force bolt.
Personal force field would make the difference since it's almost impenetrable but I dunno how I could keep the aggro on me then, since you can only use powers that affect yourself.
I'll check your links and also mess around with Mid's a little, to see what traps and time have to offer!
Thanks for your answers!
Does mez resistance from bonus sets pass onto your pets? O.o
I'm making missions with a friend in the RWZ and it's kinda dangerous when my wolves start to run everywhere because that damn monkey's gas terrorizes them! LOL

We will honor the past, and fight to the last, it will be a good way to die...
Unfortunately, pets don't inherit any set bonuses. There's a couple special IOs that function for pets (exclusively in the Pet Damage and Recharge Intensive Pet sets), but that's it.

They simply bestow a Aura power on you.

Aww ok.
Not even in those enhancements they're changing in the next issue?
I've read about some changes on some, or all, masterminds' sets but I suppose they would, anyway, affect only the mm himself/herself.
Tho I think that the kind of pets would have affected this no?
Aren't robots less affected by mez or am I wrong?
Maybe I just picked the wrong pets LOL ^_^
Apparently the ATO2 will give defense or resist to your pets. According to Synapse in the last coffee talk.

Which secondary would be the best to tank for your pets in bg mode?
Primary too if you think that some pets would fit better than others! ^_^
