[*]HijackThis - it will show us what's running on your computer concurrently with CoH. Click on "Do a system Scan and save a logfile." It will automatically open up Notepad and put the info there. Make sure Wordwrap is off in Notepad (Format > Wordwrap unchecked) before you cut and paste here.

They're using a nvidia geforce go 7300 128mb/centrino duo.
They just tried running in Safe Mode and the screen was okay, so hopefully we can try what you suggested and there won't be any further problems. If there is, I'll probably be back here...

The 7300 wasn't made for high end 3D gaming. Your friend will need to shut off or significantly lower most graphical fx. That's also a laptop graphics chip, so, upgrades may not be an option, check with the manufacturer's website to see if the graphics can be upgraded.
Also, if the RAM on that laptop is less than a Gig, expect lots of slowdowns and rubberbanding and stuttering. If 1 Gig, there will be the occasional slowdown, especially while zoning. If 2 Gigs, then no problems from RAM. -
But, trial accounts can be on a team that's doing MA arcs.

2. Bug. Well known. It's the current version of a previous bug which was 'fixed' but now manifests itself in this manner. The erroneous text strings are longer than the previous version of this bug, but it happens a lot less frequently.

Well, you used to get a big screen *splash* for each item. And if you wanted 10 Citadel Brains for your base, you'd get 130 splashes in total that would take over a minute to animate through.
They changed that upon player request. -
Because of the Field Crafter badge, a lot of low level IOs are dumped on the market and can be found rather cheaply. Don't give up on buying an already crafted one.

That's normal for redeeming your 30 Month Reward, Committed. There's a one-time splash of reward redeemed and the reward channel shows you each of the items. If you go to edit a base, chose "Place Personal Item" and those things will be available to place in a base.
As far as the bug being reported of getting Vet Rewards early, it didn't happen to my second account which is a year behind my main account. -

I click Windows+M (Minimize All to Desktop) a couple times and then make City of the first program to get re-maximized. I wait a few seconds, tap Print Screen, and then shift to either Paint (basic capture) or Photoshop (want to crop the shot down) and Ctrl+V. Sometimes it takes me a few iterations of the cycle to get exactly what I want.
I also disabled the Snip Tool.

Or, you could actually use the Snip Tool. It works. And with better options than the PrntScrn function.
