any way to remove toggle buff graphics?

on my screen only, i realize that players should be able to tell what i have on me.

im playing a natural brute, i really want to immerse into the role, but that's hard when im glowing with more auras and **** than a world of warcraft fairy magician.

asked on gfaqs, but the board over there is dead as a... not doornail, doornails are inanimate objects, so while not alive, they arent dead either.

There's only two options with the potential to change those effects display:

Suppress Extra Player FX which only affects people outside of your group

Suppress FX when close which only affects close camera range

Theres no option I know of that alters the way you want other players to see you, they have to enable the suppress other FX.

to change the distance at which you want to suppress

Use the link just posted, it gives you more options for the near fx than the ui.

The only one that does that is the suppress near FX. Honestly you have to be in nearly first person for it to do anything. Otherwise I don't know of any way.

PLEASE NOTE: it turns off *ALL* "physics" style auras...costume auras, most toggle auras, persistent buff effects (ie, Hasten). You can't pick and choose. It does NOT turn off graphics like Rock Armor's basic rock formation graphics, etc.

I can't check this right now, but I seem to remember costume auras are not affected. I had helped someone confirm this was the case because they wanted their costume aura still active but wanted their dark armour suppressed.

i see suppress close fx as an advanced option. when i type it as a slash command, it dosent change in the options, indicating to me that nothing is going on. I am typing /suppressCloseFx 1 but have also tried:
/suppressclosefx 1
/SuppressCloseFx 1
/suppressclosefx1
/SuppressCloseFx1
/suppressCloseFx1

ill enable suppress close fx in the options to skirt around the problem, but i have the same troubles with dist.

i have tried all those same combinations with distances "7", "9", "10", "20" and "200"

Try to set the distance first (30 or greater works at my regular camera view distance)

/SuppressCloseFXDist 40

Then toggle it on with

/SuppressCloseFx 1

I'd ignore the Option menu not changing, as it has never worked as long as I can remember it.

(Oh, and after testing the above I can confirm it does not affect costume auras)

Edit to add: They are 2 different commands by the way. It sounds like you may never have set the distance using /SuppressCloseFXDist
