  1. I do think it would be a better thing to have the markets merged. There is 'common' salvage going for 1mil on the redside market, while others go for 1k. The imbalance of rares is similar. Its mad.

IC reasoning? Maybe Black Market gets someone legal to fence their stuff to the good guys? And how hard would it be for someone to raid WW storehouses? Theres enough super-powered bads wandering around.
  2. The one and only power that is really missing from the Huntsman arsenal is the Shotgun blast...but, given how much we get to make up for that, thats not too big a loss.

Let's face it, Huntsmen are fairly wussy.

Night Widows at boss level are pure evil, Mu Guardians are really mean, Executioners are pretty tough, and the Toxic and Queen Tarantula's are fairly tanked up too.
Executioners and Night Widows we can make, along with Fortunata Mistresses. Webmasters aren't so bad, from experience.

So, standard power Huntsmen from the SoA path are about in line.
Besides, people forget what a nasty combo string they have with the different nades and heavy burst.

So many threads and posts about KB... Why? You'd think that something that works 'just fine' wouldn't get so much discussion time. I think it's indicative of a real issue, but I guess I'm just a whiner like the rest

I'd still prefer global KB, but knowing that's about as likely as my female toons being able to run around nude, I'm for alternatives: I believe there should be a toggle that an AT could use that would turn its (and only its) KB to KD (by lowering the mag, whatever...). Then you could have your KB when you wanted it, and turn it off if needed (or requested by team leaders). Win/Win. If any KB lovers have a problem with that, you're just being argumentative.

When I'm sololing my PB, I really do like my KB, but I'd sure like to be able to turn it off when teaming.

    Now, that is all
    Yes, there is a problem.

And it is that people don't take the time/aren't bothered about using KB in a way that is also useful in teams.
There is also the problem of people repeatedly banging on about how 'KB got them killed' or, more likely 'It makes it slower'.

    So, it's a min/max issue, really.
Why should someone have to turn off KB 'because it's slower'?
Sure it can get very annoying with powers like Hurricane, or Tornado. And if you ask the person to please turn it off (emphasis on please) then, usually, they will turn it off.

If they refuse, thats not an issue with the power, and its an issue that no ammount of patching can fix.
It's the fact that people can be problematic.
And that ain't ever gonna get fixed. Sadly.
  5. Given all the Praetorian stuff will be getting a re-write, the old stuff included at some point means this will probably change.

Bear in mind the PI stuff is all fairly old, and showing it.

I find that I am so insanely versatile with these two characters that it doesn't really matter who comes along for the ride. I like to have friends with me, since I know they're competent already. In the case of the warshade, I like to have debuffs along since he doesn't have any on his own. The /traps can put out -damage, -tohit, -def, and heaps of -res and -regen all by his lonesome.

But on topic, I don't think blurring the lines is going to make ATs disappear. People will play what they like to play, and anything is playable. As long as this holds true, every AT will exist in plenty, and I will continue to have fun.

This was so very true on the last Union Rikti ship-raid. Somebody was trying to build specific teams, complete with a kin in each team...

Uhm, excuse me? Not on my watch. Form the teams up normally, tell them to stop trying to micro-manage, went on to bulldozer Rikti like there was no tommorow. As it should be on a ship raid, or any mission.

Villains have not all been arrested before going to the Rogue Isles. They can be if the player wants the backstory to run that way, but they don't have to have been nabbed, nor should they be forced to have it that way.
  9. If you dont have Fort on 2-3 people at a time, you're doing it wrong.
The only defender I've been able to keep hold of is my Empath/Psi, who is very fun to play?

Why? Because I take pride in making sure that team members die once in a blue moon. Sure, you get the odd one on a PuG who doesnt get the meaning of 'Stick close'.

And the only time I've ever stuck Healing Aura on auto was on the ship raid last Friday, because I wanted to be slapping Clear Mind on the two MMs in the team (rest had mez shields) and so I could keep the buffs flowing.
That, and I was the Raid Leader, so...maybe I can just multitask well? Pfft, yeah right, homework pile says otherwise

These guys slam their foes into building and mountains (and get slammed back quite often as well).

Put some dynamic action in the game. I played in a PuG recently. Almost didn't get invited because I was playing a PB. "Can you control your KB??" was the question before invite. In the missions. team leader: "Herding to here!" *resists urge to barf.

I think it'd be a lot of fun!! I suppose, to throw a banana to those who'd hate the loss the seeming loss of efficiency, all KB'd foes should receive a bit of extra damage.
After having played a number of melee archetypes, this repeated call to 'nerf Melee KB res' will always get a resounding
    HELL NO!
from me. Simply because it is so NOT fun to have to deal with never being able to lay a punch/kick/cut because you spend so much time on your backside.

Try doing Mako's arc, where you end up in the Leviathan caverns filled, and I mean FILLED with tornadoes. Right? Now try that on a Crab Spider with no -KB slotted.
I think I broke the expletive barrier for the week in that play session.
  11. In addition to that, could Widows get a better selection of hair to go with the helmetless option, please? Even without a collar, the choice of hair is cripplingly limited.

And no 'clipping' issues. Crab/Bane Spiders don't have necks. Thats probably worse than clipping. And theres so many items in game that do clip that, well...fail arguement is fail?

On a lower note, I tend to not team with some of my more KBish characters because I'd rather not have to defend my use of KB as a mitigation tool when playing ingame. Some people's "fun" is leveling at max speed, and others people's fun is Power Thrusting a Hellion 200 yards.

For instance, the old original Half-Life game was HUGE, but its levels were so simple that even someone as untalented as me could create decent work with their editor. Not a whole game, mind you, but the level of detail just wasn't that high. Half-Life 2, on the other hand, is actually pretty short, but much more detailed.

Old Fallout to new Fallout is an even more drastic comparison. The old Fallout's graphics were only a step above rudimentary (seriously, even for their time), but the game was simply colossal in terms of content and things to do. You had basically half a continent to explore and entire cities in every location. Fallout 2 was even more massive, but shared about the same engine. Fallout 3... Not so much. You had only a small area near Washington DC, every "town" you visited was just a few buildings, and even the missions and activities the game offered were very limited. And that's WITH massive reusing of content. Damn those metro tunnels!

As games become more and more detailed, working on them becomes more expensive and time consuming, and I don't believe game developers are quite matching that with increased investments, so the net result is games becoming shorter and smaller. Once upon a time, a Baldur's Gate style RPG could last you for several weeks. These days, you'd be lucky for an RPG to last you several days. As good of a game as Knights of the Old Republic may have been, it just wasn't nearly as big as something like Fallout, Baldur's Gate or even Arcanum.
This is why I still own a lot of old PS1 games. They looked blocky, and by todays standards the graphics are laughable.

But the gameplay! Oh sweet gameplay, plot, quests, missions and FUN STUFF!
We live in an age of rip-off movie games, sequels and pointless, utter, drivel. I swear, the people who design movie-tied games should be lined up and shot for crimes against the industry and against fun itself. (Except for Batman: Arkham Asylum, and that wasn't really a movie tie-in. Although WB did have a credit note..hmm.)

There was an article once about games and the industry and stuff. It made a very good point. As soon as games become a 'franchise' and a 'product', you're doomed. You are doomed to damnation, hell and shoddy gameplay and lack of Fun.
A game is always tied to a story. Even sports games. Things like Gran Turismo are the story of you working your way to riches and better cars through your awesome (or not) skills. Football games are about winning the cup/cups/shiny stuff.

And games have to tell a good story, with good characters, meaty plot, development and, above all else, it has to be FUN.

I will use an example; Medievil, from Playstation. You played a dead hero, Sir Daniel Fortesque, who, allegedly, defeated the evil sorceror Zarok in a by-gone age. Except, actually, Dan was really just the Kings chum, who happened to tell good stories, and got shot through the eye during the first wave of the assault.
Zarok returns, plunging the land into darkness, awakening the dead and all kinds of creepy stuff. However, he also manages to resurect the now skeletal Dan, and thats where you come in.

The game looked good by the standards of the day. Its still not that bad now. And the controls were easy to use, the camera wasn't too nasty, there was humour and plenty to do and it was FUN.

There are games these days that make me ashamed as an animator(student) and gamer, that someone actually thought that it was ok to put something like that on the shelf. It makes me die a little inside, however sad that might seem.

...God, I do go on a bit, don't I? oh well.

Now there are well-written story arcs, the underground tunnels, the back end is opened up, and the front end looks like it's been repaired. If that isn't new content, I don't know what is.

I would love to see Boomtown get the same treatment (5th Column zone please), as well as Dark Astoria, Perez Park, and the Shadow Shard. It would be great if content we already have was actually used before brand new stuff was added.
^THIS^. So very much this! Revamped stuff makes it new again! You don't need to rebuild the zone, just make it have some sort of point.
  15. When it all fails, look for a scapegoat.
    "Our tank wasnt Stone armour!"
    "We didnt have a healer!"
    "KB got us killed!"

Notice how things like "We didn't have enough debuffs!" are left out, because that actually CAN get you killed, as me and my friends found out when we took on Reichsman before they fixed the MM power, and we simply couldn't put enough hurt on him during his obscene godmode. This was after we killed off all the ambushes without knowing any of the tactics (it had just gone live, mass destruction always works eventually.)

So. KB's fault? Unlikely. Badly played? More likely.

We're highly unlikely to see a new model, but I WOULD like to borrow Champions' "Muscle" slider, which doesn't actually affect the model at all, but affects how "ripped" the skin texture is. At least for Tights and Tights with Skin, that would be sweet over here.

Far as I'm concerned, though, and believe me when I say I'm probably the biggest fan of more diversity for women, I LOVE the female walk. Unless we get selectable walk styles ala flight positions (which I highly doubt, but there it is), we're never going to get one walk style that fits everybody, and as long as we'll be playing favourites, I'll take this one over the alternatives. Considering how often we need to walk and how high a priority this is, beggards can't really be choosers, can they?
Mebbe so...theres just been so many comments and so much ego that I really, really don't like him.

And if we need anything, we need more female sitting poses. Im sorry, five of them BY DIFFERENT NAMES are all the same. All of them.
At least duplicate the sitting emotes that male toons use and give them to female toons. There are some characters where resting their arms on the back of a bench/sofa WORKS.

Still...any new stuff would most likely be after GR, since this is all little QoL changes, not big, big stuff. As it should be, too.

    I don't buy that.
Given the Roman armour chest detail covers front AND back.

I still think they need to give VEAT Crab/Bane spiders a neck...its looks really, really stupid without a neck...

They pay so much more attention to female details in video games.

Seriously. He's pretty much the reason we get stuck so heavily with stereotype 'curves for females, mad muscles for men' and stuff.

Still think BaBs did a good job on the walks though. Considering there are actually 3.
