Quote:The DA arcs have an extra choice mechanic. I ran Heather's arc for a component roll, then I Ouro'd Heather's arc for a component roll, either day of i22 or the day after (I forget). (I was documenting for the wiki and had missed some stuff, so went through it again to clean up.)The first-time bonus on the SSA allows you to choose any reward the first time you run an arc and then you can run that same arc again and get the same reward window without having to wait for the timer to run out.
The DA arcs do not have such a mechanic. Once you run the arc and choose a reward, you must wait until the timer runs out to be able to get all of the reward choices again. You can run it again and choose a different reward, but you can't run it back to back and get all of the reward options as you can with the first-time bonus on the SSA arcs. -
Ouroboros is a dirty hack. The same contact gives an arc to heroes, and gives a separate arc to villains. They do not have the functionality for a contact to give different alignments different arcs. Heck, they had to dirty hack the contact system to allow Positron to give two different task forces to the same alignment.
I cannot imagine the level of spaghetti code this game has. It kind of gives me the creepy crawlies. -
There is no way to start in the Rogue Isles anymore, as of City of Freedom.
All characters (except epics) start in Ruined Galaxy City for the tutorial, and there you choose whether to become a hero and go to Paragon, or become a villain and go to Etoile. -
Quote:These look great, Dink! And I'm glad the faces won't have the mapping, they look much better without.Quote:Please. Please. PLEASE don't use the 'new' face resolutions EVER again. The Steampunk and Halloween and Imperial Dynasty faces have been some of the most hideous things the art team has come up with. But NOTHING tops the wrapped heels from the Pocket D pack.
Please go back to the old technology for this. Not only are these just ugly, they're such a blindingly obvious contrast to the rest of the game. Don't be ashamed of the old style of faces. We love them! At least, I do.
The new faces since Steampunk? Ugh.
These new non-normal-mapped male faces look great. Don't apologize for not getting time for normal mapping! Normal mapping on clothes is OK, normal mapping on faces make them look like molded plastic. I don't have any animated, life-sized Barbie doll characters so they don't fit. -
I almost always use natural, even if the character is actually something else in its story, because I've basically memorized the names of the SOs. It makes things easier for me until I switch over to IOs in the 30s.

Quote:Since some Prems have unlocked access to the inf cap and Went/BM I can see how access to the market forum would be useful.
/signedQuote:It makes perfect sense. People who ain't subscribing don't get access to the same stuff subscribers get.
If they want full access they can pay for it.
Talk about hypocritical.
You say preemies with high vet status would find the market useful. You're on board with that suggestion. But apparently it stops there for you.
How would anyone not find the archetype forums useful? After all, in order to play the game you have to select an archetype.
How would anyone not find the server forums useful? After all, in order to play the game you have to select a server.
Preemies can PVP, how come they can't access the PVP forum? Preemies can play AE, how come they can't access the AE forum? Preemies have opinions, why can't they access the official news discussion forum or the developers' corner discussion forum? Badges, bases, Mac users... Preemies can get or use all of those. Preemies come from both Europe and Oceanic areas. They roleplay. They make fan media. They are likely aware of comic culture and pop culture and science news and boobs (Comic Culture is an amazing place btw, and not just because of the last one). Preemies play forum games.
I can see restricting things that actually are VIP only, such as Training Room, Exalted, ........that's about it. -
Quote:That wasn't "someone", it was a large number of "someones", Parallel Illusion was a very popular supergroup on Triumph for a while. Some of us have ours still.Indeed. What you're seeing is hardly new... there was someone... I don't *believe* they were on virtue, but I could be wrong - who multiboxed. Severely. With Illusion controllers. I don't remember what the name was - it was "illusion" something - and they all had the "same" name, but doing just what Neko's saying - switching the Is and Ls and the like. So you'd have Illusion, IlIusion, IIlusion, IIIusion, I1Iusion, I11usion, Il1sion, etc. (I don't recall if they had 1s in there or not - I believe there were some I/L or O/0 substitutions in the second name, too.)
It was all about the I/l switch, no 1s involved. -
Post an example and we can show you how it's done.

Quote:No offense meant to our GM team, because they work tirelessly for a bazillion players playing multiple games, but... they work for a bazillion players... playing multiple games. The tech support people said the costume piece was discontinued.
They're likely wrong. What part is it that is missing? You've yet to actually say what's missing other than "a mask" (unfortunately, there's about sixty masks). -

Yeah, the jetpack is 30 days of unlimited flight from level 1, and used to cost five bucks by itself. So you weren't really paying more for anything.
However, the jetpack is now $2.50ish on the market, so you're actually paying an extra $2.50 to get the game card. Looks like they haven't rejiggered the price, and probably won't because that's just a hassle. -
This is the only way to get to echoes for a rogue. Have a mission there. However, fewer and fewer missions will direct players there because they're fixing them. (No missions are supposed to take place in an echo.)

Quote:I posted two workarounds that do not require either option. Is it me, or are the suggestions of "get a second computer or a computer that can run two CoH clients at once" and "upgrade to a bigger monitor" sounding a little unreasonable?
Until something is implemented in the game, those two workarounds are the only ones that do not require what you're complaining about, without recruiting a friend to take screenshots of you. (But then you have to trust their judgement of view angle.) -
Quote:http://www.ncsoft.com/I have no idea what the Play NC site is! The official "down time" announcement didn't provide a link, and neither did the OP in this thread! And www.plaync.com leads me to a Korean-language site (for this company, but I can't read it)!
This is the same site that you log in to to manage your game account(s), how could you not find it? Do you never manage your game account(s)?
Quote:I get the vague impression from some of the early posts in this thread that it might be a way to use the Paragon Market outside of the game. -
Quote:You don't take the screenshots on the second computer. You log your main account into the second computer and pose the character where/how you want, then log the freebie account into the main computer, and take screenshots on the main computer with your freebie account, of your main account which is on the second computer.(and I would also want its screen resolution to be the same as my main computer's screen - 1280x1024 screenshots aren't going to do me much good when I'm making wallpapers for a 1680x1050 monitor).
(Or you could do it all on one computer.) -
You don't need two computers to dualbox, just not a bog-standard single computer.

My IP hasn't changed for over a year at least. (I found a tracert from an old troubleshooting issue from January of last year with the same IP I have now.) Thank god not all ISPs are crappy like your country's

I got it all basically documented on the wiki as well. Nothing in-depth but the basics are all there. I figure the wiki will get more details as we get more details, since obviously we weren't technically supposed to get this page this early.

Many long-time players have access to the auction house from anywhere via /ah, and thus park themselves anywhere to do their thang, and the shadow of Atlas is a common place to park.
-
You can also trick the ingame camera by orienting yourself facing a wall/cliff/tree/statue and turning the camera around to face the front of your character. Granted this means you have to take pictures near something with collision detection, but you can get full-screen shots of your character.
You can also do demo records and change the numbers of your character's POS to get a better view.
Granted, both of these are workarounds, but until we have a way to do otherwise, that's all we've got. -

Quote:Yep. As long as at least one person has Kheld Khooties, you'll have a high chance of getting him.Do you have to have a WS in the team? I recall him showing up as an EB every time I ran ITFs on Double XP Weekend. I assumed it was a new feature that was added at some point.
