My namesake so I can abuse the markets and my IOed out Incarnate Kat/sr. Would I like it? Oh hell no.

I think it's more like 20/21. The acc/tohit bonus for lower levels goes away. Damage scaling kicks in so lower damage ATs start to set into place with their lower damage compared to mobs hit points. Mobs are generally just harder to deal with. Level 21 has been and might be my most hated level in the game. The mobs are tougher and yet you are still using DOs.

Quote:I think controllers are #2, or #3 for most played AT at 50.I can see why MMs because MM is a lot different from all the other ATs. The choice of Controller is interesting.
I can't remember the exact stats but I thought more controllers and mms were made in recent months than other ATs? If so, these two choices make sense. You want to restrict something that more people want. :P
New players can still make their Warrior "Scrapper" and Mage "Blaster" as their first toon though. Ugh..such simplification. -
While not KBed, you do get flipped when using Hover. IOs fill in for DA rather nicely.
If a set as a psy whole, it's still there post IOs. If a set lacks ability to resist end drain, it's still there after IOs. A build sucks a lot of end? That's what IOs and Incarnating is for. -

Quote:I totally thought it was going F2P. I just didn't think it was going to happen this soon.I would totally believe this is it weren't for the fact that the entire studio is branded to the City of Heroes theme. My personal belief is that the creation of Paragon Studios was precisely for the Next Gen Sequel, right for the start. I think they've been working on it for a good while now. But we'll see, I mean, I was told by the masses they would never go Free-to-Play and here we are.

Restricting classes, ATs, etc. is a F2P 101 type of move.

Cole wanted to go to Boomtown first, but he took one look at it and said, ""Aw hell, they did the work for us already. Nobody will give me credit for it when it looks that bad."

Quote:You honestly think a company that is giving part of it's game away for free is going to restrict players from giving them money? While good, that doesn't address if you will still be able to buy up to the current max. "You can keep what you have bought" is not the same as "you will be able to buy".
It seems like a no-brainer that you would be able to buy up to the same, current max, but ***-u-me and all that. -

I honestly think it would bomb horribly if they did it. Graphics have been updated. Content is fresh and they are adding in a key aspect(end game content). It's now F2P. You don't try to make a sequel when you are trying to bust your butt to make the original look as sleek as possible.
-
Well, if true, defenders might be the only support AT 1-19 hero side for any of the F2P players, so how about them apples?

I think the more interesting aspect is controllers are a Premium/VIP required AT.
-
Do people honestly think CoH2 is going to offer enough new shiney for the player base to move from a 7 year old built game that's now free to play?
-
If you want more slots, I'm sure they will gladly take your money.

Quote:The VIP server is optional and like hell I'm moving. Not about to read through 29+ pages of the other thread so if its been discussed sorry.
Why does it feel like the VIP server is just a sneaky way to get consolidate the server lists without actually merging them all into one? Next step is to eventually remove the old non VIP servers. And you have one left. Then its all gone.
Doom? -
I liked my CoH without the taint of F2P. Considering what trial accounts gets, there's no way in hell I'm doing the non-VIP route. I'll just unsub, go play something else, and then sub when I want to play again. Changing the name of the game makes no sense whatsoever to me.
