I didnt get my free month, or any information on what server im on or anything

i just downloaded the city of heroes going rogue: complete collection and it didnt give me my free month, nor any information on my server or how to get the game running. I created my steam and ncsoft accounts and entered my games serial number, but at the launch screen when i enter my name and password it cant connect me to the server. WHAT SERVER AM I EVEN ON? nothing has helped me on the sites and ive been at this for hours. i even subscribed with my credit card to see if it would get me more information on my account...why isnt anything working

It is talking about the Login server, you get to choose which Game server you want to play on after you login. You need to go to your account and apply the game code to get the free month

where would i find the game code that i was supposed to receive?
and how do i solve the issue with the login server?

You said Steam? Normally when Steam installs a game with a serial number key, it pops up a window saying something like "This is your key, you'll need to copy this down and use it to activate your account." If it didn't, then go to your games library, and right click on City of Heroes. There should be an option labeled something like "View Game CD Key" Click on that, and it'll bring up a window with the serial key. This window should also have a button labled "copy key to clipboard," which will allow you to copy it to Notepad to print out, or to enter in another program or on the website.

You also need to create an NCSoft account. If you haven't done that yet, follow this link: https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/accountManagement.pl
That's where you create the NCSoft account, and that's where you'll eventually need to enter the CD Key. As part of the account setup, you'll need to choose a master Username and password - I would personally recommend that you NOT use your Steam account info here. (On the off chance one account is compromised, you don't want them to automatically have access to everything else.) You'll also need to choose a password for the game - again, I would recommend that this be different than the master password.

Once you've created an account and registered the key, you can run the launcher from Steam. Once the game loads, you'll be shown a login screen where you need to enter your City of Heroes username, and City of Heroes password. Once those are accepted, then you can choose which server to make your first character on.

Game Accounts

you should have City of Heroes as one of the game accounts
if not... you need to ADD your key to your account
(And change your password / login info)
there are two logins you have here GAME and ACCOUNT
one is for NCsoft site and the other is for COH

Use a Serial Code (though it sounds like you have done that already)

If your Coh Code is not there...


And you have two servers you are trying to 'login' to

the Global server so to speak (which then allows you to select which server you go to (and create your characters on))
the named servers Guardian, Freedom, Virtue etc...

if you are having issues with logging into the game period then you might want to check windows/mac firewall settings for net access for city of heroes

Steam is not the best experience for CoH. If you persist you will have challenges. Your first month is free and you won't be billed for 30 days. Choose Freedom for your server when you create a character but you have to start in Praetoria with your first character. Welcome to the game.

password got reset before i tried to log in so it wasnt working
just had to create a new one

I'm glad you figured it out. One thing you might want to consider in the future, is downloading the non-Steam version of CoH. (You can download the game client from http://www.cityofheroes.com/account/...of_heroes.html ) I'll let someone who isn't quite as tired explain why MMOs and Steam don't play well together.
