    Hmm, theres something odd about that quite high recharge values... have to check
  2. And its even sofcapped to ranged, fix for Mid's Phalanx Fighting bug in my above post. (PF should give you 3.75% positional def, but Mid's only shows it for melee and AoE w/o that fix)

    here is my build so far w/o aoe capped.
    You have 50% melee and ranged def... Without parry, so ditch it, lets see...

    I wanted to try to get perma hasten bc it worked out so well on my claws/sr, but i wasn't taking into account that sr has a power that gives 20% rech right out of the box.

    Thx for the help Xandez.
    Actually Phalanx Fighting defense cant be enhanced, it always gives you 3.75% of melee, ranged & AoE (Mid's bugs a bit on ranged, doesnt show it until you do a little fix)

    The fix For Mid's
    Options --> Advanced --> Database editor
    --> Main Database Editor
    --> Select Scrapper_Defense (left side)
    --> Select Shield_Defense (middle)
    --> Double click on Phalanx_Fighting (right side)
    --> Click on Effects tab (3rd from left)
    --> Double click 3.75% Defense (Ranged)
    --> From the Affects: dropdown menu, select [none]
    --> OK
    --> OK
    --> Save & Close
    --> Close

    So, dont slot it with other than LotG +recharge imo. And yw
    (PF def for team mates is still enhaceable thou, so if you want to slot for that...)

    Also, take a look at this thread:
    http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=197144
  5. yes Mid's a bit buggy on that one, fix is eg. in here:

    Fix was (iirc)
    Options --> Advanced --> Database editor
    --> Main Database Editor
    --> Select Scrapper_Defense (left side)
    --> Select Shield_Defense (middle)
    --> Double click on Phalanx_Fighting (right side)
    --> Click on Effects tab (3rd from left)
    --> Double click 3.75% Defense (Ranged)
    --> From the Affects: dropdown menu, select [none]
    --> OK
    --> OK
    --> Save & Close
    --> Close

    Anyway, here's a build suggestion:

  6. Hmm, some calculations.. lets see if i can get these right...

    Chain wanted MG+SMI+SL+SMI
    Arcanatimes

    MG = 2.244
    SMI = 1.188
    SL = 2.112

    So, you would need
    MG recharged in (SMI+SL+SMI) 5.542 s
    SMI recharged in 2.112 s
    SL recharged in (SMI+MG+SMI) 4.62 s

    (hopefully)

    With my latter build, the endurance consumption of the MG+SMI+SL+SMI is 24.98 / 6.732 s --> 3.71 e/s
    and when the net gain was 3.26 e/s, the consumption is 0.45 e/s with constant chaining
    So i think its good. (procs give more and CP can be used)

    (again hopefully)
  7. Ok Body with LBE in this, thou.. ranged def is only 44.2%
    (same 2 free slots in brawl, so...)

  8. Dunno if this looks any good, it does not have permahaste, but... is 3s short so bad?

    It has 2 free slots (placed in brawl atm) and im not sure about slotting in Smite, MG and SL tbh... it is softcapped, albeit tightly.

    Dunno about the attack chain either, i think you should aim for MG+SMI+SL+SMI (iirc) a little too lazy atm to calculate if it got the needed recharge... also, i made this one with Blaze pool (dunno, maybe because the DM has poor AoE anyways... and included SC in ofc)

    Prolly doesnt have enuff recovery to run the chain (even if it would have the recharge needed) for very long, so maybe Body is better.

  9. Errr... *thud*

    So you have permahaste, so what? It isnt all that sexy
    What about the recharge on your attack chain, is it enuff? What is our attack chain?

    The slotting here is... awww... ok, its awful.
    Youve slotted MG for IMMOB? WTF???

    Why LBE 6 slotted Apoc? etc...

    Also, while SC is an AoE, DO get it, it is pretty good ya know..
  10. Well like many others have pointed out any/SD is pretty good. So, my vote for any/SD.
  11. Expensive looking build, pretty decent resists and defenses.
    Lowish on hp but...

    Dunno, but i think would be tempted to make a dark/dark/body build to cover for the endurance loss and not be so dependant on Dark Consumption.

    Have no real experience with a DM/DA thou, would have to try and figure it out a little better... (have 1 myself, but its only lvl 20 or something)
    But, i think you have a KB hole in there... ?

    *edit*
    Bah theres no KB hole, im blind, sry!

And quills slotted for slows isnt going to keep the baddies from running out of burn
    Ok. So burn is ba... err good
    Wouldnt slot quills for more slow either, just that doesnt even that slow which it has help? *shrug*
    (apparently it is not enuff thou)

    Hmm, wouldnt choosing your pool because of Burn be kind of silly? I mean, its not that good, or am i missing something? And doesnt spines have some slows to make the Burn work ok? (Quills and throw spines iirc) *shrug*

  15. Ok... dont like DA, so i tried to make some sample builds how to reach softcap w/o it. The only "expensive" one is these builds is the +3% def all steadfast IO (which is really not that hard to acquire from eg. AE if you dont have the extra 10-20 M inf)

    Neither of these builds have Flashing Steel, which i dont know if you like or not. Also, havent slotted anything that dont contribute towards def. For example, theres some slots in brawl and sprint, dont let it fool you, like i said, these builds are slotted only for def purposes only.

    1st build, Kat/SR/Blaze, no haste, tried to get it cheap (imo Red Fortunes are cheap, if they in your opinion are not, replace em with something else, even with regular def and reduce endu IOs or even SOs etc)

    Didnt include eg. Gaussian in either of these examples, if you can afford that in either buildup or maybe pick focused accuracy (if you take body mastery) it will make things eveb easier. Also, Flashing Steel gives you an option to slot 1 more multistrike (+1.88% melee and AoE def).

    In Kick is also possible to mule in 1.88% ranged def. In Boxing some melee and AoE def (with Razzle Dazzle), etc...

    There are options, even cheap ones, its just what you consider cheap and are you willing to eg. grind a little AE to get the steadfast and/or money to buy other recipes. You can go w/o the +3% steadfast too, it just requires more slotting and maybe more expensive sets to get there (eg. Touch of Death for melee and Mako for ranged, etc)

    Hope you got some ideas!

    *edit*
    took out the some Mid's "clutter" to shorten this

    ps. i had ~10 M inf when i returned and i got my char softcapped with this iirc:
    Used lower lvl recipes and stuff, but anyway... sofcapped

  16. I'd say pretty much the same as with generic IOs, or maybe even less. Iirc, Multistrikes and Crushing Impacts are very cheap (i'd estimate 10-100k/ recipe). *edit* Crushings might be a bit more expensive, but should still be affordable.

    However, since were not too far off from the double-exp weekend, prizes might be a tad higher. Although, because of the new 4XP system, there might already be a "surplus" of the uncommon recipes in the market, thus the prizes have prolly dropped.

    FM/SR vs. Kat/SR

    I'd say FM/SR. While you can get good things off of Kat/SR with lowish budget, its certainly easier with FM. Also, FM animations and stuff are quite nice (not that Kat is not cool looking, heh).

    Or, is Kat/SR a waste in general? I've heard some good things about Kat/EA...
    Personally i have never had DA in my Kat/SR repertoire. Just for the reasons Nihilii said above and maybe just because i dont like it. Never found problems softcapping w/o it. I find tedious to keep it eg. doublestacked and while i certainly dont have the recharge needed for GD-GC-SD-GC chain, i still wont take it.

    Imo Kat/SR is not a waste, however the lethal dmg is resisted more often than not, so... *shrug* I love it, but...

    Now, EA vs SR is a whole different story, where EA being a resistance based set can get a loads of more out of DA.
  19. Ok, then ditch Weave (like you have been all along) and take Resurgence
  20. But but... what do i sacrifice in EIM/SD/Blaze build to get JL?
    (not Fireball!?!)

    I guess it comes down to ditch Haste if i want to keep softcap or if not, then prolly Weave... *wanders off mumbling*
  21. I second Santorican here, get Mid's asap, it rocks!
  22. There is nothing wrong with frankenslotting if you cant afford whole IO sets. And there are some sets which are CHEAPER than generic IOs, eg. multistrike which is a nice PBAoE set is usually dirt cheap. Have to also say again, how often do you use Resurgence? If you use it often, do you do something wrong? Remember that while weave might take 0,33 end/s (unslotted for -end) it gives you 3.75% def all (again, unslotted) which while seemingly low, it does adds up.

    Dunno, this is what i would be aiming for (note: you might find some powers overslotted eg. tough and weave, so its possible to get some slots from there so other places)
    Its either haste or Strength of Will @49 and i decided for haste, since i really hate crashes (combined to a long recharge, ouch... but if you like the Tier 9, then take it!). Could also replace Weave with Resurgence or Strength of Will if you are unwilling to let it go.

  23. Just wanted to say welcome back!
  24. Could you possibly post Mid's data chunk (for lazy ppl like me )
    (if you used Mid's that is...)

    Anyway, i would atleast drop resurgence (you dont plan on dying a lot, or are ya?) and pick up weave to replace that...
    And maybe switch conserve power pick to 49.
