  1. See, it's a damn shame you can't just have them as they are. I could make a fantastic control room out of those machines.
  2. Ok, I've wondered this for some time...

"Also of course they could finally let us fight the big guy...."

That image - isn't he inside the skiing area in the Pocket D? I don't recognise where he is from the Shadow Shard - where *is* that image from???
  3. I have to say, the suggestions here are incredibly valid. I feel that one of the reasons all of this 'old content' is kept in the game, is so that everyone has a chance to 'experience the same stories' - but you all make such valid points - there is no feeling of progress. Many years have passed since this 'story' started, and the issues are meant to 'progress' the story, but still 'old' content remains. Take a look at Faultline, however. That 'changed' dramatically. The Paragon Dance Party is no more - it's now Pocket D. The Rikti Crash site is now a 'War Zone'. There is progression, for 'zones', but not for 'content', and it's clear that old content DOES need to be removed for the story to make sense.

Many of us are 'veterans' and have progressed through missions, made discoveries and foiled plots. How often can we do this? Granted, 'new' content can't come out every week - but how many times can we uncover the 'truth' about who the Rikti *really* are, or discover how the Sky Raiders came into being? This has to become part of the game's "history", explorable through Flashbacks (exploring the past so that heroes can be involved in historic events and get badges / enjoy contest) but surely not used as 'current' missions.

I understand the flipside, though. We can't 'shift' a load of missions into Flashbacks without something to fill the gap. So although I'm all for moving the game story forward, but I'm not sure if that's going to happen
  4. I'll have to take a look at this

'Souvenirs' are one thing, but visual 'souvenirs' are another. I'd love to build a 'trophy room' to show off what our SG has done. Then you can give people tours and say "That's the X from when we had to defeat the Y, boy was THAT a fight and a half!"
  6. You know, when you put it like that... how much of a genius IS Positron?

Although - yes - he is a damn fine hero.

The thing that confused me is this - in the Freedom Phalanx book, Posi helps form the team. The Top Cow comic is written in the early noughties (around 2005) - so they've been a team for at least 15-20 years. Why then, is there not a better dynamic?
  7. I'm not sure whether the tips suggestions still get updated since the 'Tip of the day' was removed from the website. It's possible it is still accepting them for the loading screens - GR would know.
  8. They're doing the 'Paragon Shuffle'. It's an actual phrase.
  9. I'm so impressed with myself for asking a question that has stayed (relatively) OT since the first page
  10. Khorak did make it kind clear with that
  11. See, that's where I was originally coming from - I'm not 'anti-capes at level 1', but I think it should be one or the other - either all capes accessible at level 1, or none.

    Tailor

Agreed - being able to leave the tutorial to 'tweak before you commit' is a good idea. You have to see it in action before you 'enter the city' properly

  13. Well, summon a +Attack pet, then LRM. Damage bonus from a safe distance.

Works for me - looking forward to it
  14. What's its recharge time like?

    Base NAMES

Well, even without the ability to officially name a base, we decided on one - now I want this suggestion even more so that I can put the name up for when we enter the base!

    Social zone

It would certainly make the place a bit more sociable. For 'the club to be in' it's always so empty!

The ski slop once a year is enough.

Although I'd pay to see the easter bunny set up shop in Pocket D's vault through spring :P
  18. Either:

    a) Update the game lore (based on the current 'known' situation in regards to the hero behind the cape /level issue) so that Heroes can have capes at level 1

    b) Restrict ALL capes to level 20, following game lore still - allowing some but not all capes (especially since some of the bonus/vet ones are quite nice - better than the standard ones)

    c) Make a 'sub-quest' available to characters AT ANY LEVEL (with a decent plot) that allows you to EARN the right to wear capes (The same can be done with auras, since I agree that some characters need auras from level 1, and waiting 30 levels is a bit harsh

    Travel Powers

"Teleporting around buildings is kinda silly."

Most teleporters, traditionally, have to 'see' where they are going before they teleport (see X-Men 2, if you can't be bothered to read comics).

Alternatively, you have the Jumper concept of 'having a good memory of the location being teleported to', but with than in mind - how well will you know the 70th story window of a random skyscraper in Steel?

I think teleporting around buildings makes sense. Or do what I did when I was a TP-er - teleport OVER them. Straight line travel at it's easiest.

I like the flying idea though - although I can see it being only useful on some characters. Flying faster would be nice, but it can't be expected that all heroes with the power of flight would be able to fly at super sonic speeds.

    Social zone

Pocket D pretty much *is* that, minus a few things. I think, if this would be followed up, it would go there.
  21. I find when trying to resist knockback, the fastest temporary solution is to craft 'Knockback Protection' from the power buff stations in base.
  22. I'm glad at least GrinningSpade agrees with me!

"Sorry Human Torch, you can't actually burn yet till you prove yourself." - "I don't know who you are Caped Crusader, but you better get rid of that cape, you haven't earned the right to wear it."

This isn't the MU or the DUC - it's Paragon City. It has it's own history, and it's own backstory. In this RPG, Hero 1 was a HERO, and regardless of what happened to him, the rules were put in place to say that REGISTERED heroes (which we all are) in Paragon City need to reach security level 20 before they have proven themselves worthy of honouring his sacrifice.

Regardless of which costumes this destroys, or whose 'concepts' this destroys, CoH has a 'history' and an 'established environment' and this contradicts it. It's about as crazy as spontaneous zombie attacks with no explanation!
  23. When I get to 57 months, I will have SO many free costume changes available. By that many months, you have decided on your favourite costumes. Hell, costume slots would benefit people more by that point
  24. You know, a vet healing power would be nice. Allowing us to bring 'support' to the people
