Pedestrians in Missions

I'm currently in a mission, on the office map and theres lots of pedestrians running round. I think the Devs should do something with them and they should be more than just comedy/for effect. Make a mini game out of them - bonus points for clicking them, then they disappear. Or have them hand out insp.

Let the Villains stun them/kill them/knock them out...anything to get rid of them! They suck so badly in Mayhem missions when your trying to target the actual mobs, and getting doomed for your troubles...

Agreed, how about instead of them running around like complete and utter loons they get some structure into there panic and head for the nearest available exit.

You know like normal people would when a masked psycho with a big weapon walks into the room.

The ones that make me laugh are the hostages that turn around and head right back into the depths of the cave you've just rescued them from. Don't think a hell of a lot of effort was put into the AI for these mobs. Thaat's almost as bad as the pair of victims you rescue from a large group of villians, they always come up with an indentical comment, is the game made up of twins?

This discussion again? There are some very very extensive discussions about this in the past.

To summarise:
- They are meant to be a hindrance
- Killing them with just one AOE wold be to easy.
- Killing them as if they were minions feels wrong, pedestrians should not have equal hp then those trained longbow trying to stop us.
- Killing pedestrians on the Rogue Islands would be bad for the meager economy and much more likely to lose whatever legitimacy LR has. This would make LR probably quite unhappy. Therefore it is not encouraged to do so. Indiscriminately killing pedestrians would probably result in an untimely death of the killer.

I've always wondered why the bank customers in mayhem missions are level 2. My brand new fire spitting beast from hell who's just broken out from the Zig, could infact get his backside handed to him by Old Missus Jones going to draw from her savings?

Mind you I suppose in todays financial climate, when Mrs Jones finds out her savings have disappeared through her banks inappropriate investments, the ensuing old lady rage means anything is possible

I seem to remember that i healed from them on my kin although my mind is quite blurry today. Sleep deprevation and the flu is not a good combo.

So what you're saying is that they were put there purely to be annoying. I'd have thought they'd have more sense than that. [censored] customers off is the best way to get them to go to the opposition. There's enough frustration in this game with the constant nerfs, bugs and some very strange decisions without this sort of deliberate nonsense.

Well that is my theory. Especially since you can attack them, worse try using the tab and guess what they are in the enemy chain and notice how they always keep running near you? Following you in fact? Sure they are handy for healing but still.

Peds in mayhem missions are one of the main reasons i kept hand clap on my SS brute for so long i found it most amusing to see them flung in all directions and with some luck they would get stuck on something and leave me free to pound the guards

Posted

Hmm Perhaps i should make a special mayhem build for my brute then

You can also throw them around with the gravity control powers. Loads of fun bouncing them off the ceiling while shouting "push me into longbow would you?"

Apparently I killed a ped on my traps MM once. I didn't actually see it but at least 2 people did.

I think you can use them for any power that uses targets, like the ones that suck endurance out of enemies or Dark Melees buildup replacement.

It was their fault i died robbing a bank last night.. it was almost as if Longbow were using them as shields.. To top it all off, as i lay dead on the floor of the bank, all the Longbow agents decided to float out of the bank doing the conga..

You know, there's characters who just don't give a damn about it and are not working for Recluse and are not intrested in what happens to him. They are the ones out there for the pure villany of it, for the pleasure of killing someone, or the money. Come on, they might even be working for Arachnos for the money alone and don't care for Recluse's life.

If you can defeat Recluse in GW's arc, then I'm pretty sure Arachnos can't kill you.

Maybe giving them a set path from one set of elevators to another, which would be them escaping the building - they spawn at the "up elevators", run through the floor map to the "down elevators" or exit, then despawn.
They could call out warnings too when they went past you, which could give more details about the villains/boss/attack and so on, or just be general warnings or expressions of fear, or relief at seeing some heroes arrive.

I've said it before. Hells, its even IN THE MISSION NAMES;

Mayhem missions are NOT in the Rogue Isles. Ergo, Recluse wont give two !!!!!s what the Villains do there. That is NOT a valid argument for this. Whatsoever.

-facepalm and and applies ice bucket-
