Have only just had this thread pointed out to me, and am happy to see it! Glad to see The New Guardians are holding position # 20
-
So - the new website is up and running (without RSS). We have one giant integrated set of forums...
Fansite Alliance sub-section? Or is that meaningless, now? Technically it still 'exists'...yet we're currently just a 'list of people', with no benefits at all - which goes against one of the reasons many people applied for it... -
Ok, ok, pick hairs. You knew where I was coming from. A 'paying, account activated member of the community in some form or another'.
How about 'patron'? -
/unsigned.
I'm with Neko - events are time-based, otherwise what's the point? It gives us things to look forward to, and play through... Where's the 'only three days of Xmas left' fun, otherwise? -
Cobra may have delivered an agreement with a bit more Venom (pun intended), but I'm glad he agrees with my point. Veteran rewards are given out for PLAYING the game. Not PAYING it.
-
Soul_Storm, your posters are really good. I loved the Romulus one!
Would it be possible to put one together for my arc? I'd happily PM back and forth with you to discuss details!
The arc (a Hero one) is 98742. Let me know if you can/will? I'm not that photoshop savvy -
Seconded - when is this becoming 'EU'-centric?
-
Atlas is lag-central. I'm guessing due to the number of people within the AE building. I spend my time in Steel and Talos, now. AE, AH, Uni - I'm happy there. Peace and quiet!
-
Because it's a 'reward'. The 'achievement' that it is 'awarded' for is for being active for that amount of time. They might as well call them 'payment badges', rather than 'veteran rewards'
-
We'll see. I've got to smash through a few hundred custom mobs, collect the last thousand tickets, etc. Getting there slowly!
Re: The Accolade - my lesson from today is "Learn to read"
Why? Because I was looking at the bottom of the description, which reads:
This badge requires the following badges:
Architect
However, the part I overlooked (which I must have read at least once, to give me the feeling that University was the next place to log off...) was this:
Badge Info:
Hero: Earn Professor & Architect Day Job badges to earn this badge.
Still - at least when I get the Professor Day Job badge, I'll get two day job accolades too. So - 21 days from now, 3 badges in one go. Shiny shiny! -
Hero2 may have a point - but it is something I must say I've noticed. I think Buses would make it look a little more sane - but then again, with two train lines and a large population of people with flight and teleport powers, who knows - maybe that's how many people drive. Have you seen them PARK, however?

Pyrokine has a point - you can 'make' certain flag-based costumes with very little effort. However, the more complex flags (UK's Union Flag - remember, it's only the Union Jack when flown at sea :P Billie Piper told me :P ) aren't going to be something we can make (although you could put something together based on colours... I might have to try that tonight).
I'd just love Hero 1's cape. Something nice and British. Of course, Atlas Park as an American flag on it - so that could easily be a cape.... -

Hell, we've already got the Veteran base items - but attach a clicky power to them! -

Veteran rewards are a sign of thanks from the developers, and a signed of 'Veteranship' to other players, to show how long you have been 'active' in the game.
Think about a badge - "Can I have the accolade for doing all of these things, even though I've not done them (yet)?" - See, it doesn't work!
I look forward to earning my veteran rewards. It adds something new every couple of months, even when there hasn't been a new issue, or a costume pack release. Ok, granted, I got the 39 month Veteran the other day, so I've been blessed with totally pointless (for me, at least) Boxing costume pieces - but I'm *really* looking forward to 3 months from now, when I get the 42 month Team Teleport power. Shiny
(Of course, it doesn't change the fact that for 45 months, I get nothing... even though there are rewards AFTER that... it's STILL stupid!) -

HOWEVER...
I'd like to /sign Techbot_Alpha's idea of 'God Mode' or 'Intangibility' so that levels can be tested. I know that a few people have complained about where they have placed 'glowies', because they'd prefer them further back (but obviously some maps don't have 'spots' where you'd expect) and have found them in rooms that they're not happy with. -
Slow down....!
Ok, the Professor thing I suspected (hence why I shunted across to Steel Cayon's University this morning to start working on that badge). Annoyingly, there isn't a mystery "You need to earn this and this to get THIS" bar under 'Accolades' in my badge list to tell me this - well done, Devs. Once again, Badge-hunting is placed at the bottom of your list.
The Mission Engineer accolade I have already earned, Tsumiju. What is this about accessing MA editor anywhere? -
I have just earned the Architect 'Day Job' badge, after 21 days of logged off time in an AE building. However, I was disappointed when I only receieved the one badge. According to Badge-Hunter.com, only one badge is needed for the Master Architect Accolade - the Achitect Day Job badge. Obviously, I'm dubious - a one-badge accolade? Surely not? So - my question - is the Master Architect badge bugged, or does it have requirements that are not yet listed on Badge-Hunter.com?
-
Seconded. I really liked the 12 month CoH wallpapers that I had as my desktop for 90% of each month. Really helped me keep my SG up to date on upcoming events, such as DXP weekends, etc.
Can we see something similar this year, please? -
Galaxy City needs something

Galaxy City accessible to villains?

Offline - Allow for SG invites to be sent to offline players.
/signed - useful for having invitations waiting for old players that have been put on a 'reserve' list due to inactivity, and will want to return to the SG when they return to the game
Offline - Allow for Promotion of offline players.
/signed - This is a big bugbear for me.
Online - Require players to be online prior to SG demotion.
/unsigned - Doesn't this contradict the above point? Promotion/demotion should be possible offline, imho.
Online - Allow SG members to be able to invite offline players to their SG.
...You've already said that above.
Online - Allow SG members to be able to promote offline SG members.(Invitations and Promotions subject to that players SG rank settings as usual.)
...You've said that too.
So basically:
"Be able to promote/demote SG members when they are not signed in" - this would allow a leader of an SG to work on the roster without requiring everyone to be signed in to do so - something I have found quite difficult to keep track off!
"Be able to invite people to the SG who may be offline, so that the invitation is waiting for them when they sign in" - Perhaps this could be in the form of an in-game email with a clickable link that activates their role in the SG? -
I suppose a lot of them can be farmed / 'set up' relatively easily.
-
Certainly looks like earning the new MA badges will be ... interesting.
-
Mother's Love is right - disabled NPCs wouldn't be hard at all. They could then have a 'really powerful psychic in a wheelchair' giving out missions to 'bands of heroes' - ok, perhaps something less copyright infringe-y, but still, NPCs is a good way to go!
-
Guys, I have to say, I've just sifted through these five pages of posts, and some of them have *really* made me laugh! Thanks for that
-
Back to the wheelchair issue:
/signed - however, it needs to be restricted to power choices - i.e. Controllers, etc.
No point in having a shield/mace weilding tank that can't whack opponents because the front portion of his hovering mobiliser gets in the way
