"For 57 Months spent in the City of Villains you will receive a 50% discount on all tailor costs"

Really? That's what I get? Well I'll get right to that discount after I use my 10 Veteran Costume tokens and other costume tokens you get thrown along the way!

Feels a little weak, really Still, guess it could have been worse!

Poor, poor, poor.

Give some love to our dedicated players, instead of all this rubbish. I have about 15 tailor tokens free on my main, and I'm still at 24 months, why would someone 57 months need a tailor discount?

These people are at the dawn of playing for 5 years...give them something that they will actually use!

I agree here. I've got my 42-month rewards coming up next month, and already a couple of my characters have around 40 free tailor tokens. I don't see this as something I'll ever use.

Yeps. Very weak

It's almost worse than not having them at all... which is kinda saying something about "free" stuff

It's true what they say.... Give someone something for free, and they'll STILL complain about it!

It's better than the 45 month reward, at least!

Lets be totally honest, All the best Vet Rewards have already been put in. Anything extra is good enough for me, not gonna lose my cool because of it being this.

People are complaining because it is almost equal to nothing at all, and our almost 5-year players deserve the best rewards for their dedication.

Personal opinion, they're going to call it a day at the five year mark, since it gives new players a light at the end of the tunnel and the vets have all this wonderful stuff anyway...but that's just my opinion and the magical 8 ball says I'm probably wrong.

They've had a lot of options open, one which wouldn't miff people off would be another perma-temp power choice, this time one from the Mayhem weapons raid sidemission (come on...you know you want a permenant Rock power for when the situation calls for it) but perhaps that would make begining vet characters too powerful, still would be a nifty option.

Be fair, why would a 57 months veteran need a 50% discount at Icon? Cossie tokens coming out of their ears and probably a pile of cash that would make Sheikh Mansour green with envy.

I cant remember the last time I had to pay for a cossie change and I have ages to go to 57 months. Oh and dont take this as a moan, just wanted to point out that this reward seems completely pointless.

I regularly pay for costume changes. I could use up all the free tokens I have one one character pretty quickly seeing as she doesn't wear the same civilian outfit more than twice in a row. Not that it matters, seeing as it'll be a while before I hit 57 months.

Seriously, though, I do agree with the point of this being lame. 'Veteran Awards'...? Costume stuff, yes, temp powers, yes. This? No.
Come on, Devs, who are you hiring to fill these in now? If you want someone to come up with ideas for *free* I'm game

1) There are very very few 57 month veterans, and that is unlikely to change much in the lifetime of this game. Positron is reluctant to devote significant resources into creating things that only affect a tiny fraction of the playerbase.

2) If the reward was a significant costume option, just think how much whailing there would be from players who "require" that costume item for thier character consept, but are well short of 57 months. Thats why the good costume items (trenchcoat, wings, samuri) are all early rewards.

3) It has never been the idea that VRs would get "better" as you went on.

4) I'm inclined to agree with the opinion that VRs will end at 60 months.

I really should do something about this signature.

There's two main problems with putting anything decent in as a reward now.

One is the problem there's always been, which is that for the most part there's no particular reason why something should be a reward or not. It's entirely arbitrary. So putting something someone actually wants in as a reward can come across as "You HAVE to wait and pay us subs for 4 and 3/4 years before you can have this! Ha!" rather than "Here's a bonus!" There's an implicit element of "We could just give you this now... but we're not going to." to it.

The other problem is sort of related, but it's just that how likely is it new players will ever get these rewards? 4 3/4 years would take us to October 2013. Will CoH still exist in its present form then?

It doesn't really work as an incentive scheme. If you have to subscribe for longer than may actually be practical to get something good, that's not much of an incentive. And if you have to wait forever to get something rubbish, that's obviously not much of an incentive either.

Personally, I still think they should have had a pool of rewards - or a set of pools if you like - with a selection from the appropriate pool as a reward. They could keep adding things to the pool so the oldest vets still have something to choose, but new players have a realistic expectation of getting particular rewards in something resembling a realistic time frame.

You've never met Wolfsbane then? I don't have free cossie tokens, whether they're free or vet ones... He's changed his outfits more times than Liz Taylor in Cleopatra!

all in all, I'll be getting something that will be used at one point or another. **shrugs** I'm happy.

^ /Signed! Damn good idea! See, is it only the playerbase that comes up with things like this?
