Its either something functional, like 'SG X's Base', 'headquarters' etc.
Or something more creative, e.g. 'The Maze'.

My suggestion was for it to be something that was shown in game, rather than just 'shared' between those in the SG. Something that your SG can set.

Just like most people don't see the interior of the base. Does that make decorating your base redundant?
It would actually make life harder. You click on the base portal and then have to work out which of the three coalition members has named their base 'The Fortrees of Solitude'. (Let's face it, you would have to have exclusive names, otherwise there would be a lot of Fortresses of Solitude.)

I'm in favour of this, it's a nice wee touch. And I'm sure there are ways around knowing who of your coalition members base's are. A simple (teamname) after the base name would suffice.

Easy enough - I was expecting it to read something like:
New Guardians - [Base Name]
[Co-allied SG] - [Base Name]
[Co-allied SG] - [Base Name]
...
Our base is accessible to our Co-allies, and also specific teams (based on who is the leader). That means that it can certainly be 'seen'. If I lead a team, and need them to cross Paragon quickly, I'll lead them through my base - they're going to see it then - so why not? It's a nice, small, touch, that would give bases a little bit more of a unique feel, per SG

I can't see as how this would hurt, tbh. As long as it's something that's relatively easy for them to do (and it might not be... They'd have to make some GUI changes as well as database structure alterations - not always a minor task), it'd make a QoL feature you could use or not.

It doesn't actually improve QoL. It's pure chrome. Faintly nice but serving absolutely no useful purpose.

Fixed that for you. As evidenced by some posts here, SOME people would like it. Plus, it could be useful as a sort of way to rename poorly named SG's...

You, Floaty are confusing what a QoL change is.
QoL changes are something relatively minor (which this probably is) which make it slightly easier for you to play the game.
This doesn't make it easier to play the game, in fact, if they do it wrong, it would become harder to play.
I'm not denying it might be nice, but given the names people come up with for characters, I can only say that I'm happy I'll never see the names they might come up with for bases.

Well, to be fair, I rarely do. I have to hover over them to see it, it's usually in a tiny font, and hidden by some other text as well.
The character names though... they burn! They burn my eyes!

Yes, but you will only see the base names when entering a base, and you see the SG names the same then too.
It's an MMORPG - Perhaps the RPG side of the game would benefit from it?

Maybe it could be added as part of an improved SG list from the SG Registrar? It could also appear on the selection window when you click a base portal - the base name could be followed by the SG name - like "Evil Lair - Evil Inc."

I'd actually like it if we could enter other SG's bases!!
I'm not talking about doing anything in there, like using TP's and medical stuff, being able to take salvage, etc, but sometimes you go in a different SG's base and it's stunning!
Maybe let the SG leaders decide if they want it to be open to the other heroes, so to speak? They could even set restrictions, perhaps? Have the ability to kick someone from the base if they start squatting?
Seriously though, I'd love the be able to see the creativity that some people have with their bases

Ok - so the Avengers have 'Avengers Mansion', and more recently, 'Avengers Tower'.
Batman had the 'Batcave'
Superman had the 'Fortress of Solitude' (? I don't do DC ?)
The Freedom Force (a game that you should check out on the PC if you like the fun of Golden Age comics!) had the 'Freedom Fortress'.
When you click on the base portal, you see 'YOUR BASE', and then the SG names of any co-allied SGs - why not allow us to name our bases?
