  1. I'm looking to see what Willpower on a Brute looks like post lvl 30, all the way to the end game. I have a 50 Willpower Tank with barely any IO's and he seems pretty tough. I have a lvl 22 WP/Axe Tank that I'm thinking about re-rolling to a Brute. My highest SS/WP Brute just hit 31. He has no IO's. He seems ok for the most part, but I'm worried about the late game and trials. Anybody with experience on this...preferably Axe/WP, but I'm mostly concerned with survival.

    Or would /Invuln be better?
  2. I took my Elm/SD Scrapper redside for the Mu epic. Fit the concept better and I saved a power.
  3. I'm not too concerned about the budget, and I farm tip missions for the Hero Merits. I can do what it takes. My guess is that +rchg and getting near soft-capped is the way to go on this.
  4. Just the thread I needed....

Altitis has gotten me...as usual. Just built a Claws/Invuln Scrapper. I've never gotten a claws Scrapper past low 20's. Gonna try another run. Will /Invuln be tough enough on a Scrapper for the end content, including trials? My guess is with enough +rchg I can get perma-Dull Pain, which should help. Any thoughts on this? Also...which claws powers are just "meh" and skippable?
  5. Thank you all! This is just what I was looking for.
  6. But doesn't the Singularity have holds and so-forth? Or should I not worry about those?
  7. I have a lvl 35 Grav/Rad 'Troller as well as a lvl 40 Earth/Therm 'Troller. I have absolutely NO idea what the best slotting arrangement for the Pets is, especially the Singularity. I know that Stoney eats up endurance like nobody's business. I currently have them slotted with SO's...pretty basic slotting really.

What would be the "best" slotting for these 2 pets? Frankenslotting? IO sets? What benefits them most?

Ultimately, I would like to beat down some GM's with either of these 2 toons...end game of course. Don't know if that helps.
  8. Thanx for the reply. I wasn't really going for any bonuses. I've seen too many different slotting suggestions to know what works best for the Lich. I'm not to familiar with HO's really. I was under the impression he had more damage-type attacks...or at least attacks that "also" do damage.
  9. Nothing? Nothing could be done better? Power Pool picks are spot on? Lich and Dark Servant slotting are right on target, or should I go with generic IO's?
  10. Ok...all my main projects are about done, looking to respec my Necro/DM MM for i19. Any glaring problems or holes? I'm mostly concerned with my Lich and Dark Servant slotting and choices. The lvl 49 OG was kind of a throw away...I was also thinking Recall friend, and maybe putting a stealth IO in Sprint. That would leave me an extra slot to put...where ever.

GUH???? I gotta ask....how did you get 86.51% s/l resistance on a FA Tank?
  12. Lol...I'm starting to see a trend here.
  13. I have a lvl 35 DM/Inv...sometimes he feels kinda squishy...sometimes. He isn't fully IO'd out yet, so it could get better. I have seen /Inv Brutes with perma-Dull Pain, running some 3k hp. That looks intriguing to me, but I don't know how that might compare to the Granite Armor... with Rooted.

    Honestly...I'm 50 - 50 on either one.
  14. So altitis has hit me again...I'm sure you feel my pain. I ran across an old character of mine, a Stone/SS Tank which was sitting at lvl 14 for about 2-3 years now. I liked the concept, but having lvl'd a Stone Tank to lvl 35 (before having enough funds to pimp out)...yuck. So I thought I would change it to a SS/Stone Brute. It fits the concept better and the Fury will help the damage output a bit. Then I started thinking that maybe, at the high-end, SS/Inv could work better...

So, any thoughts at which has the better survival, both in general, and fully IO'd out (no purps or PvP IO's)? My guess is that /Inv is better before Granite, but then after that, on a Brute, I have no idea. I know of Granite's problems, but with IO's I can fix most of them. /Inv just gets better with IO's. My Brute is sitting at lvl 6....now's the time to re-roll if I'm gonna do it.
  15. I don't know, I have both a FA/SS and SD/SS Tank, both IO'd out and both are currently my favorites. I'd swear the FA/SS puts out more DPS. The SD/SS is no slouch and has more recharge, but I think Burn/FS comes up faster and just chews thru almost anything.

    just my observation
  16. I still like the idea of posting videos. seriously. i'd like to see a high-end SS/FA Brute vs a high-end Elec/FA Brute for comparison. then i'd like to see the actual builds posted. could be constructive to many of us.
  17. So this is the pinnacle of what I can do with these power-sets? I would have bet money against it...but hey, cool.

    Thanx all!!!

    SS/Fire/Mu Brute

I think he read too much into your comment.

fire resistance cap = fire shield/plasma shield/temp prot.

AND you'll need your damage aura (as a necessary damage dealing power when running the farm).
  19. Achilles6

    Shield/SS?

I built mine to 55% defense to all positions (well, 54% to AoE). When I have a Rage crash, I'm only down to 35%...which probably doesn't matter anyway, Rage is back up before it crashes, so I can click it again and I'm still at 55% (yeah-yeah 45%).

SD/SS is one of my favorites!! XD
  20. Looking for some advice. I posted a couple months back, but because of the inherent fitness change I tightened up the build a little. He does pretty good, but I'm looking to see if I can make him better. My current build is about 95% of the below build. The only IO I don't have is the PvP +3% Defense. The rest are in the current build or in a bin in my base.

This is for PvE only. I typically solo, but do run run with my SG when we get together on weekends.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    SS/WP or SS/SR?

expensive in time invested. i think they are 1 hero/villain merit a piece. buying from ww/bm...you're on your own.
  22. only thing I can add is that you may have 3 powers to replace fitness. got one? throw Unstoppable in it. call it a day.

also, I haven't seen this, 'cause I haven't played an Invulnerable anything recently, but seems like if you have a good IO build (high defenses and lots of regen/rec) you should be able to survive the crash and keep on moving.
  23. Not that I want to necro-post or anything, but I just attempted this TF (Blue-side) this weekend. OUCH! And this was the second suckiest TF/SF I have ever wasted my time on.

Some help from our forum heroes would be greatly appreciated here.

    The problem:
1.) The guns that ground him. exactly when should they be used? by how many people? how many times (only what 10 charges)?

2.) Took forever to get him to 25% hp. i think i know why...you'll see below

3.) at 25% hp, he kept popping Unstoppable. I think we finally gave up after he hit it for his 12th time.

    Our group: 1 - fully IO'd out SD/SS Tank (me), 1 - fully IO'd out SS/SD Brute, 1 - kinda/somewhat IO'd WP/SS Tank, 1- kinda/somewhat IO'd BS/WP Scrapper, 1- IO'd out Fire/EM Blaster

So...lol...lots of smashing/lethal..against an Invul AV. yeah...that, I'm sure, was part of our problem (didn't know what he was when we started tho). We had little deduffing. sure, we had "bruising" from 2 Tanks, and def debuffing from the BS Scrapper, but no Rad/Sonic (probably best for this)/Thermal(?) debuffing. These are the 2 most glaring problems I see. Am i missing anything else before I attempt this again this weekend? 'Cause I HATE wasting my time.

    Thanx in advance!
  24. First, I'd switch your epic pool to Energy Mastery (Conserve Power and Physical Perfection are your friends). Second, Tip missions are your friend. 4 days (5 tip missions a day, 6 on day 2 and 4) will get you 2 hero merits. go to Ft Trident on day 2 after your morality mission and grab a Performance Shifter +End Proc recipe. Day 4, do the same thing. Place in Stamina and in Physical Perfection.

That should help your End issues.
  25. Gonna agree with Bill here.

My second Tank to 50 was an Inv/EM and my first villain was an EM/Elec Brute. Before the nerf (and we can certainly have this argument again if necessary blah...blah...blah, potato-pototto), they were my favorites. I spent a lot of time and money on both. Now...I won't touch either of them. Well...let me correct myself...the only time I pull them out is to respec good enhancements out of them (all the uniques and purples).

I also agree that EM still hits hard...in a vacuum...cause while teaming, it takes next to forever to launch your 2 biggest hitters (everything is dead before they hit). That's why I left EM...and ain't coming back until they restore it to it's former glory...which will NEVER happen.

As far as WP vs Inv...My Inv Tank was an Assault Tank. He had Tough, Weave, and Aid-Self. He could do some crazy stuff and put out some damage. My WP Tank...not so much...but I have yet to really IO him out. Brute-wise, I have both...they both seem a bit squishy. Again, haven't IO'd them out really good yet. I heard great things about WP on a Brute. I've seen Inv Brutes with perma Dull Pain which I'm sure helps their survival.
