This. It's a world where Hamidon ravaged the population. There are bound to be a number of signature Primal characters that are just flat out dead, while there will also be a ton of original-to-Praetoria characters due to the differences in history.

I guess 'cause the animations are really old, and we don't get a whole lot of nice options for weapon models. Broadwsword, Battle Axe, and War Mace could really use alt animations that set the three apart.

Quote:If this were a set based around summoning mythical creatures, that'd be great. But it's not. Its about manipulating the shadows and creating darkness. To those complaining about thematic problems youve obviously never heard of Cerberus the guardian of the greek underworld Hades. Nor have you heard of Hell Hounds? With all the powers in the game that do require a bit of lateral thinking to explain id have thought this one was one if the easier ones.
And honestly, I'm pretty sure the devs weren't trying to reference anything with this. It was just a case of "Hey, we invented a dog skeleton. Let's smush this into as many things as possible for the time being." If they invented Fire Control around this time I'm sure instead of Fire Imps we'd be getting Fire Beast, and he'd just be a typical dog that's on fire. -
Quote:If I were playing a DBZ MMO that'd be great. But this isn't DBZ, and the entire trial just feels like it kind of happens, and that's it. You run in, beat up a couple guys, then Cole throws a tantrum and goes Super Cosmic. Compared to trials like the Underground or Keyes Island Reactor it just feels lacking.Amen, the Magi trial was so anticlimatic, I'm like....wait.....what? It's over?
Cole doesn't get up and say: Ha ha ha, you think you've beaten me??!
....and then fuse with the power of some uber something-or-other where he changes form and gets granted a ton of new powers and 6 billion more hps. I mean, that might not common comic-booky thing, but certainly a gaming thing! -

Thanks, fixed. Both are intangible characters, anyway.

Quote:The first half of Dark Astoria centers around the Talons of Vengeance, a group we first encounter in First Ward. They just hop over into our dimension and decide to become our enemies in a story about Dark Astoria. The second half involves us buddying up with Dominatrix and fighting Diabolique as she plots to use Mot. Mot and the Pantheon don't even really become relevant until the very end. And even then, the finale iTrial is all about Diabolique.You.. mean like they did with Dark Astoria? And the Signature Story Arcs? The game has been pushing along non-Praetorian story elements for a while. Praetoria has been 'the star' with the Incarnate Trials and new zones, but it's hardly the only show in town.
And the Sig Story Arc is nothing but a side adventure. I'll admit, it's nice that it doesn't revolve around anything Praetorian related, but comparing a monthly three mission arc to an entire issue's worth of content won't work.
Like I said, we've got a huge list of villains in our own dimension that haven't been touched in ages. Let's pick one and make an issue about them instead of dedicating resources to things like Night Ward and making even more enemy groups we'll only see once. -
I've had so many concepts for Dual Pistols characters that I never went forward with just because of how stupid and unfitting the animations were for the character. Honestly, I feel like it was a mistake to make the animations that over-the-top in the first place, just because of how restricting they can be on concepts versus more generic ones.
So yeah, alt animations would be great. -
Quote:What's more practical and would be a better story that makes more sense would be relocating to another dimension and giving Hamidon Praetoria.Really?
Which is more likely? An arc where our characters help Praetorians relocate to a new world or yet another Incarnate Trial where we beat/eyebeam/shoot etc Praetorian Hamidon, that could possibly help to unlock another Incarnate pool
So that means what our dev team will end up doing is give us yet another iTrial that you have to farm to unlock the next iPower, letting us beat the Hamidon in an anticlimactic showdown so we can put the Praetorians back on their world and everything will be nice and happy in the end with no possible issues. -
This. Let's see Recluse, Nemesis, Countess Crey, Requiem and his lieutenants, The Center, Malta, Circle of Thorns, Freakshow, Primal's Devouring Earth, Vanessa DeVore and her Carnival, Clockwork King, the Coralax and their Leviathan, Emil Marcone, King Midas, Rularuu, or the Skulls and Hellions be relevant and at the front of a story again.

Still not sold on the costumes, but this gives me some hope the story makes up for that.

Quote:Look at how long it took us to get legit backpacks. As I understand it, they have a limited number of connector points (or something of the sort) on the base model to use for costume pieces. Thus, for this sort of option to be separate from existing options would require more than just adding a new option bar to the UI.
I would love to have separate elbow and knee/thigh options, but I don't think it will happen. -
This thread is now doomed.
Come Monday, Mod 09's gonna put it down. -
Quote:He was a deus ex machina regardless of having an arc beforehand. He beat Statesman purely because he spent 20 years off screen studying States, and he showed zero intention of ever wanting him dead to begin with. He came out of nowhere, killed him, then left. And despite having an arc, no one actually cared about him before the SSA, either. Darrin really needs to at least be phased out if you've run SSA 5, 6, or 7.Wade, on the other hand, is a random guy with a penchant for hammy dialogue and a fine appreciation for the color purple. And without his arc, that's about it. Interacting with him villainside is the only thing that fits him into a role as anything other than a deus ex machina.
-
Quote:Same could be said of States and Psyche. Why should anyone care if these two random heroes get killed if we never see them anywhere else in the game except for their cameos in the tutorial? As others have mentioned, removing Wade gives a real "who?" situation in Who Will Die, so it's kind of important to keep him in the game for something. I think it'd be nice to see him Praetorian-phased for folks that finish WWD7, though. Or heck, WWD5, really. Change his arc in Ouroboros to make him a phone-only contact and it's a seemingly simple fix.

Knee pads have to be built into boots. We don't have a knee or thigh slot for costume options.
And elbow pads, same deal. Will have to be part of gloves. Except I could see elbow pads being added as a Shoulder option, considering all the upper arm accessories already in there. But that'd be the only way, and that's iffy at best. -

Quote:We're getting way more content, powers, costumes, and really everything else now than we ever got before. The money gained from the market gets funneled right back into things like Staff Fighting, Dark Control, or Water Blast, which would have taken years to design in the past. And the Rocket Board, Beast Mastery, extra costume slots, and a lot of other things people love would have never made it off the drawing board. Plus a subscription gets you 400 free points every month to get stuff on the market. 550 points if you're a tier 9 VIP. And VIPs still get free powers and costumes, as well. Personally, I love the free server transfers we get, since if you stack two you can use 'em as a free rename. Are you bleeping kidding me?!?! So not only do we pay $15 a month as VIPs, and get gauged for the latest and greats on the market, nickel and dimed.
There's always the option of playing the game for absolutely free, if you can't/don't want to pay the sub or just sick of the game, though.
Quote:But NOW we're being told that we, as players and poster, can't post to an old thread that one of us created ..... just cuz?
Please tell me there's a logical reason for this .....
If the Pet Peeves thread was that important, it should've been stickied. That would protect it. But it's just a thread about complaining, and really shouldn't be the first thing anyone visiting our server's forums should see, tbh. -
Every time someone asks, it gets pushed back another month.
Every time someone demands, it gets pushed back another six months. -
She's prob an original-to-Praetoria character. Those can and do exist.

As far as bugs go, this one's very small time. I doubt they'll actually dedicate resources to fixing it, and it'll probably only get patched if they stumble upon a way to fix it accidentally.
For now, might wanna switch to a different costume slot that doesn't glitch out and use the power then. -
The market thing's a bug. A redname said they're working on it. Dunno about the attuned thing, though.
