  1. A kill-mostly ITF is the clear winner for Shards. Higher ranked foes have a significantly higher chance of dropping Shards. And the ITF is full of Bosses, EBs, and AVs.
  2. '88, '89, and 2005: Those were Batman's ****** bag years.
  3. Zombie Man

    Issue 19.5

And I think after a while that would grow stale.
It would fit in perfectly in this age of reboots.

Re-tell the origin story from a new point of view. Introduce the usual cast of characters and have them make 3.5 appearances with the exception of 'the nemesis' who gets more recurring roles.

Wrap it up after 3 years.

    Then... reboot.

NO ONE CARES ABOUT BATMAN'S* FOURTH YEAR.

*Replace with SPIDER-MAN or SUPERMAN or WOLVERINE or ETC...

Like when I said I'm introverted, too?

Does that make you feel alone?

  7. We're talking zone ceiling high. Not that bright, but that's the way it is. Spiral upward around Thorn Tree isle.

In Beta, Shard drop rate was rather significantly increased at players' request.

At this point, only datamining showing an actual and significant horrific drop rate for soloers will change the rate. I doubt that's the case. But, unless one has access to the data, it's very much subject to subjective perception.

And unless one uses HeroStats to actual document playing X hours solo at level 50 and only getting a paltry few shards will the Devs probably be willing to check that data. But I do know this: If someone actually does present that data, they will indeed datamine to verify and adjust accordingly.

And you utterly missed my point when I preceded my comment about IF there were nothing more but 'high end raiding' with the point that that would never happen.

But, I hope you enjoyed beating the stuffing out of that straw man.

You know, I'm basically introverted, too. About 97% of my play time is solo. But I've found that if I'm able to get into Internet arguments in a forum, I have the capability to occasionally stand to deal with people in PuGs. Maybe you can find that same resource within yourself since your Introversion is not apparent in the forums.
  10. The launcher should be browser-based platform-independent java so that it can actually support multiple platforms.

And if we're being folded into the NCSoft 'family', then let's finally get an NCSoft Pass option where paying one price gives access to all NCSoft games. If they did that years ago, maybe the ones that closed down would still be going, even if only on bare-maintenance mode, making the Pass a very attractive option. After all, the 'average gamer' can't afford a premium subscription to an unlimited number of games, but, a Pay One Price subscription to a whole family of games would be something an average gamer would jump at because of the value. And in the realm of paid subscriptions, loyalty is king.
  11. Mez protection for Blasters is already bordering on being overpowered. Not having access to Defiance for when it fails seems like a reasonable trade-off.

    Bravo Fiery_Redeemer!
    No.

    It's flawed argumentation.

It's basically saying: "Since 99% of the game has been 'casual' and I'm a 'casual' player, then the thought of adding all this exclusively 'non-casual' content is DOOM."

    False dichotomy and false premise.

The false premise is that all this new content is exclusively non-casual. We just had a major game update in Going Rogue of level 1-20 content that continues the casual tradition. Last issue gave us Zone Events that... wait for it... a player can solo! Think about that. A soloable zone event. A freaking zone event (three of them actually, with promises of more to come) that can be solo'd!

This game isn't giving up on being casual friendly.

The false dichotomy is this: You either have a game that is 100% casual, otherwise, IT'S NOT CASUAL AT ALL!!!

Please. The Devs could spend the next two years adding nothing but 'high end raiding' and CoH will still be 90% casual. If that's not casual *enough* because it's not 100% casual, then that is the problem of that particular gamer who has created this unrealistic and false dichotomy.
  13. Zombie Man

    Slider

So you know what the power will do if you ever get hit with a -45 Level Shift debuff.
  14. I knew what this thread referred to just be reading the title!

Ah... memories. When this was released, it was played on a loop on the TVs in the hotels during GenCon. We all got to memorize it.

Favorite part: Sproing! the Minotaur. The threat that never materializes because he's ejected from reality by a comically giant spring trap.
  15. Heck, at this point they can simply port Dark Miasma Buff to Dark Miasma Control, add a damage component to some attacks and call it done. Then all they need to do is to lock out Controllers from choosing Dark Miasma/Dark Miasma.
  16. They're worth it for the silence.

But what others have said is true: not a huge speed difference. The game operates out of RAM memory. Texture files still need to be transferred from the disk to RAM and SSD speed transfer rate isn't a huge boost over hard drives once your RAM is large enough to hold the entire game and textures currently in use.
  17. It was a dream.

No... not a dream. What's the word I'm looking for?? A PALINDROME! Yeah. That's it.

Nope. We already have Man. Then there will be Eagle, Lion, and Ox. This will complete the Apocalypse theme of the The Coming Storm.

CoH will then be renamed Left Behind: The MMO.

Edit: OK, I see the picture above me... where did it come from?

Edit Edit: OK, it apparently is from the CoH Facebook page.

With how often that universe gets rebooted, I say they only have a two year's worth of background material to draw from.
  23. Funny that at the same time the Devs remove 'Tram Missions' from the Ozone portal, this shows up.
  24. The Ramiel arc prequel lore on the web site indicates Silos' and Ramiel's surprise that the Well acts like it's suddenly 'sentient' or at least 'directed'.

    Hello!
Understandable. I've been advocating with the Devs for years for real PvP games.

But, with all those options for arena, are there any mechanical reverts that PvPers are still waiting for? Can't pre-I13 be recreated in the Arena right now?
