I thinl the way the epics were implamented may have put people of this idea if 50 - 60 was just choose a tier 2,4,6,8 power like 40-50 seems to be than yes I'd agree sack it and so something else. Epics would have been so much better if you had had the option of aquiring them at reasonable levels ( considering power strength ) ie 1st tier lvl 20,2nd 30,3rd 40 final 49, allowing them to fit better into the flow of charecter development.

Hiya Mr wuffles, saw you the other night out teaming and you pointed me in the direction of this thread, forgot to look and hardly ever come into creative but glad I did today. Just one question though is this restricted to one entry per player, don't know if I could write more than one before the deadline but don't know which story to choose as I've got maybe 2 or 3 workable ideas. Also will you post the winners?

Is there a feature built into Coh to do screenshots? if so how do you use it? and can you remove all your UI to do so, and easily replace it?

Being that the basis for the client is 4 years old now are we sure that it's a server problem could it not quite as easily be that the programming isn't efficient enough to process the ever greatre demands on it. I've heard that US servers are older tech than ours and at least three of them run a greater population than ours surely if it was a server issue this would not be feasible.

Just started an Sg and want to create a new room in my base the instructions say wait for room to turn blue and click but it never seems to turn blue, even when a small doorway/ corridor appears and I think it is in the right place the room remains red and won't place. What am I doing wrong? anyone know
And while we are on the subject how do you place things on top of desks and tables? -
Standoff perhaps something along the lines of- your base 'picture' is never non active, the other databases involved, Enhancment storage, Tp beacons, Insp count might be larger and tucked away if not used frequently enough. Allowing you to see your base, powered down, but not access any of it's functianality.

Some questions as I was never around for this and It's seems that it has become the unwanted child of PvP (ie ignored and seldom talked about, hardley suprising really as it must be fairly embarresing for one bugged mission to discourage the use of a whole system that both devs and players have put time and effert into).
Is the CoP a multi team TF?
What is the use of An IOP other than as a raid prize?
Is it valuable enough to justify the time and effoert involved in raiding?
Are base raids restricted in numbers?
Does any base raiding still occur despite the absence of this system?
Was this implemented before the aquisition of CoH and if so have the new owners revealed any of there oponions or intensions towards this aspect of the game?

I'd suggest try the list of guides, each one of those combos have inspired someone enough to take time and effort to extole there virtues and try and help others get the best out of the set. Also good for getting an idea how the alt might play.
Some of my faves have been DB/Regen Scrapper, Cold/Ice Defender, and my current flavour of the month Plant/Emp controller.

If my job is to secure the team and someone says A is 3* better security than B, then I'm going to choose A every time. Is it strictly neccasery who can say but I'd rather err on the side of caution than choose B and find out latter that it wasn't quite good enough. Hey buts that's just my 0.02 inf worth.
Taunt also deals with other situations much better than just squishes getting rushed, quickly grabbing aggro from widely spread groups, Abrutly bringing ambushes under control, Those split group moments when you need to be in two places at once, establishing control at distance so a stormy say can safely use kb and you can avoid a hard melee Alpha, grabbing Aggro quickly from an AV your blaster just pulled so it doesn't 2 srike him, pulling aggro from a second tank or other taunter who needs help, truely the list goes on. If your a jump into a group hope it all works out sort of tank then yes taunt is probably of little use to you however if you consider the myriad of things that could go wrong and still consider it your job to defend your team to the best of your ability then A1 bro IMO taunt will be an invaluable servant. -

Therefore the best way to hold aggro is an autohit aura with a 0.5 second tick - assuming you can keep all the mobs you want to taunt within the AOE.
What the Taunt power enables you to do is taunt at range, which is very useful for rescuing teammates that get into trouble.

From the maths we were discussing in another thread, Taunt is a multiplier to Threat rating defined by duration*1000.So max threat multipliers would be

I too have heard WP is weak at holding agro which is strange given the only diffrence in there aura is it's set too mag 3, well yes that would explain it you say but it's strange because according to the current understanding of the mathmatics of taunt Mag may as well not excist as it has no effect at all!! -
Non of the maths so far seem to indicate Mag has anything to do with anything let alone duration. The post by Castle appears to be missing, or removed from the US forums perhaps an indication that he to maybe in the process of reassesing the data he presented (this of course is pure speculation). Who dearly love to talk to the man and perhaps find out what he did say in full and where his thoughts are at on the matter at the moment.

Essentially I would say Taunt is hard to quantify hence all this disscusion as to it's effectivness.
From what I know so far punchvoke and auras seem to be as effective (disragarding range) at establishing Aggro.
But so far my research reveals that because duration is element in deciding how much pressure need be applied before aggro is broken, taunt would appear to be on average 3* as effective as other powers for 'holding' aggro. I can't give you a complete proof as the complete maths I have IMO still doesn't balance but I can tell you that duration is thought to be a factor in the breakability of a taunt. So it would appear taunt the power is significantly better at doing it's job than other aggro holding tools. -

Sorry DJ Zero nuff respect for the set up an all but it's like being in a Rave when all the people breaking the local consumtion laws (like buying drink post 2am )suddenly dissapreared. Maybe thats what happened someone let loose a PPD teleport bot inside.

Sg's earning vehicles that essentially unlock new map areas
(Van-small town, facories, country parks/estates,
Jeep-Woodland,Coast,Lake,
Helicopter-Islands, Ships at sea, Mountains
Jet- World interest maps, both geographic and man made,
Shuttle- Orbiting stations, A Moon or Mars base, Battle ships
possibly interplanetry ships.)
These would be unlockable with prestige and only accessable at certain lvls you need to be 20 to go on a Van mish say and each would have a comms device attached to access further story arcs, Random missions possibly TFs. Please note this does not exclude people with no SG partaking as anyone in a team can enter your SG. Also being instances and if you apply random place names to missions in story arcs/TF's you can happily destroy the enviroment with little or no effect to level of immersion. An intersesting add on to this idea might be a daily paper. A server wide annoncement system of the top three travel missions run and possibly any spectacular failures. Say in a format like 'A team of heroes from {SG} defeated {AV} at {Location}' {team list} famous heroes of paragon finally tracked {AV} to there lair at {location}. After {mishion descripition of random mish, or one of the mishs in Arc/TF} they finally tracked {AV} to his secret hideout and after a protracted battle that lasted some {Mish Time} the heroes of Paragon finally won through. All {Team leader} had to say was {Battle cry else No comment}.
Getting your SG's mish into the paper could involve a Prestige bonus. -

Cheers for the advice Charnel, and sorry my sense of humour passed you by first time round will have to /jockingly next time.
Currently I run a Fire/EM tank for PvP (only spent about an hour in SC so far) but just wanted to do some research into what I might end up teamed with in zones and what I might come up against in the arena. Cheers for you help though. -
How about try using the autocomplete info to sort problem if that fails possibly cos of incorrect info reenquire about said info.

Had A similar idea myself but I thought you could make all lvling like that providing for an entirley open ended system with total personilazation.
You obviosly have done more with it to flesh it out but I would agree this seems to be the new thing in charecter development.
Also a Simple/Advanced option would be nice allowing you to quickly and easily get used to the system with simple then if you wanted tamper some more with advanced options.
Want a melee toon that buffs, a controller with dmg, a pure healer, a PB mezzer with defence etc all would be possible. -

Note- Me and Rider are in the same SG and TS most nights, he knows that I love to wind people up and that's all I was doing, I wouldn't presume to say something like that that I didn't know (exact perhaps in extenuating circumstances) very heroic of you all though to jump to his defence though.
