Sg's earning vehicles that essentially unlock new map areas

(Van-small town, facories, country parks/estates,
Jeep-Woodland,Coast,Lake,
Helicopter-Islands, Ships at sea, Mountains
Jet- World interest maps, both geographic and man made,
Shuttle- Orbiting stations, A Moon or Mars base, Battle ships
possibly interplanetry ships.)
These would be unlockable with prestige and only accessable at certain lvls you need to be 20 to go on a Van mish say and each would have a comms device attached to access further story arcs, Random missions possibly TFs. Please note this does not exclude people with no SG partaking as anyone in a team can enter your SG. Also being instances and if you apply random place names to missions in story arcs/TF's you can happily destroy the enviroment with little or no effect to level of immersion. An intersesting add on to this idea might be a daily paper. A server wide annoncement system of the top three travel missions run and possibly any spectacular failures. Say in a format like 'A team of heroes from {SG} defeated {AV} at {Location}' {team list} famous heroes of paragon finally tracked {AV} to there lair at {location}. After {mishion descripition of random mish, or one of the mishs in Arc/TF} they finally tracked {AV} to his secret hideout and after a protracted battle that lasted some {Mish Time} the heroes of Paragon finally won through. All {Team leader} had to say was {Battle cry else No comment}.
Getting your SG's mish into the paper could involve a Prestige bonus.

Interesting idea. Unlock a vehicle to gain acces to a special area or mission. It has merrit. I am not sure if t will be feasible these days when you consider that most SG's are deadish and farming radio missions is the norm instead of going thorugh the contacts.

The vehicle part of the idea sounds a little gimmicky, but I do like the underlying idea you're getting at. Although having come from other MMOs with unlockable/gated content I'm probably more tolerant of it than the majority here - look at how many people moan in-game here about having to do the Midnighter access arc to enter Cimerora and be able to do the ITF.

I like the media part of the idea more though. It's a shame the influence/infamy system has become more like a currency as issues have gone by - I always thought there was untapped potential there for some kind of "fame" system. It's something present in lots of superhero stories that they're either dodging the media (Batman etc), courting the media (Supes, Spidey), or exploiting it (Captain Amazing in Mystery Men ).

Is that what most PuGs are doing these days? How unimaginitive Reminds me of I6/I7 CoV, where most villain PuGs would just do Council newsies in StM/GV because they were easy - I soon got bored of that - it probably contributed to why I don't PuG much anymore.

It is worse on the villain side yes. But heroes gotten lazy to.

It is a bit more understandable blueside with all those old/dull/repetitive arcs though (which is why I tend to stick to redside these days). A shame though.
