Are we ever going to see CoP back?

Title says it all: are we ever going to see it back? Almost 2 years since it closed, we have no word that it's coming back.

Is a replacement coming? Or are we going to be taunted with the 'no infromation' thing?

its one of those system that has never actuly worked corectly and just when they thought they got it fixed another problem croped up that ment while an sg was running the cop members not wonting to take part couldnt do other missions at all so they switched it back off

it is promissed to come back eventuly just no date as to when or in what form as things related to sg's in general are low on the work bundle for the devs

I'd be interested to know how many people actually care if we get it back, considering the Devs would have to spend time on it that they could spend on other content.

I don't think it would be many.

I dont think its ever coming back, too many non pvp'ers complaing they are forced into pvp, for doing non pvp content.

Well, I'd prefer to see a entirely new similar feature to CoP, instead of the return of the bugged version.

Maybe some kind of other dimension or something like that?

Well, it's not actually non-PvP content - it if triggers PvP, then it's PvP content

It was dead broken but honestly I couldnt see what made it so damn hard to fix.

from what they say was wrong basicly giveing everybody in the sg a mission to do it ment those not wonting to do it couldnt do other missions so the problem was finding a way to have two missions active at once the cop for those taking part and something else for the rest, coure ther emight have been alot more to it underneath but if this was the only problem it was just a matter of seting up a tf/sf for 3 teams (24) instead of the normal 8 this means only those that join it get locked into the mission

but like i said ther might have been a hell of alot more to it


id like to see the cop return soner rather than later but i do understand why people dont like it in its current form. the idea of forceing people into pvp dosntsit well with me even thos im a pvpv fan

our group dark lords would love to do the cop but there is only about 4 or 5 of us that actuly pvp so altho we owuld easily be able to pull of the pve cop defending the base and anyiop gained would be a nightmare to say the least

Maybe they could make base raids set the numbers to be used, so if you had only 5 who wanted to PvP, then set the number of attackers to 5 as well.

that dose sound like a good idea but garented that would get lods of complaints after all that could be explioted easy enuff and might be fair to the pve groups but its unfair to the pvp groups,.. begining to understand why the devs have been ignoreing foxong the problem lol

I dont care much for this at the moment.. I would love to see more SG missions from the computer/gauldron though.

I am getting tired of the same (only one) mission all the time. We need more to pick.

Try no missions at all...
That's what heroes get.


Any way, yes to more missions from the SG computer
Yes to getting CoP up and running... no to IoP, give a massive Prestige bonus instead (1k per finish bonus? 10k?)
Would eliminate the PvP need of it too, plus the tweaking the IoP no doubt would need.

what i would do is bring back the cop but remove the pvp aspect of it altogeter andinstead introduce some sort of pvp sg raid ranking with some sort of pvp only reword that has nothing to effect pve same with the iop awarded from the cop remove any bonus during pvp

its not the best solution but this way it coveres everybodys needs and wonts as best they can without breaking the game comepletly

My base has been ready for base raids, COP - hell, ANYTHING, for quite a while. Grated, there's always upgrades to be performed - but something to work towards would be nice

i have to admit that some sort of pve base raid maybe with only a prestige bonus for winning obviousely to avoud expliots this would need to be limited to how often you can do it but would still be a fun even t for sg's

hmmm.. yes.. make the cop harder.... Remove the raid pvp stuff... I hate that anyway. And make it a real real challenge to get the power item.

Then restrickt to only one power item for each base/sg. Maybe make it possible to trade the power item if you need/want another buff.

This way you enhance sg friendship and cooperation. Without forcing them into pvp.

i dont think restricting the iops to one per sg would work coz a large part of getting to the secure plot size is being able to have more than on iop, but i could see the use of being able to trade iops between oher sgs or coaltion members.

i still think there should be some sort of pvp element to raids as they are fun if you enjoy pvp at all but it dose exclude huge portion of the games player base by forcing a pvp element into it. just seems to me it would work alot better haveing two systems in place one for the pvpers and one for the pve's as the cop itself is pve anyway.

Some questions as I was never around for this and It's seems that it has become the unwanted child of PvP (ie ignored and seldom talked about, hardley suprising really as it must be fairly embarresing for one bugged mission to discourage the use of a whole system that both devs and players have put time and effert into).
Is the CoP a multi team TF?
What is the use of An IOP other than as a raid prize?
Is it valuable enough to justify the time and effoert involved in raiding?
Are base raids restricted in numbers?
Does any base raiding still occur despite the absence of this system?
Was this implemented before the aquisition of CoH and if so have the new owners revealed any of there oponions or intensions towards this aspect of the game?
The Cathedral of Pain! if only the Dev who wrote this could of understood the irony considering what all subsequent devs must think of this idea/ situation
