  1. Family reunion weekend - y'all have fun without me!
  2. I pretty much arrange all my trays (for 60+ alts) in the same way. And oddly enough, the order is much the same as KJayMM, except that I keep all movement, including all the various TP powers (Ouro Portal, Vet Base Teleporter, WW 'porters, Pocket D VIP Pass, etc.) in a Tray 4 I pin along the right side of my screen.
  3. Family Reunion extravaganza next weekend - yes a reunion on Saturday *and* a second one on Sunday.

    Have fun without me

    This.

Although I must say it's easier on large teams with lots of buffs applied to characters than keeping track in the strings of icons.
  5. I love "Oh, Wretched Man" (Seer Marino's arc). It does a good job demonstrating that Villains (and in particular Arachnos) are people with families and relationships (that last beyond the grave).
  6. I can probably show up to pad again, if needed.
  7. Add me!

@Ad Astra, Winter Shock (electric/ice controller)
  8. We ran a Synapse last night beginning at about 10 p.m. Eastern. At the beginning when we were gathering the team (pre-arranged here on the forums) - one player displayed as grayed out, but in Skyway - when the guy was standing there next to the rest of us.

Somehow that issue worked itself out, but we did have three nasty disconnects during the TF. I was one of them and my computer wanted to review all the /pgg files before letting me back into the game.
  9. Welcome!

Check out the Mentor Project thread at the top of this forum. Their purpose is to help new players learn the game.
  10. I thought the current limit on Influence was a system limitation.
  11. Ad Astra

    Costumes, Hair

    Movable Hair?

    I summon Golden Girl!
  12. We had a beautiful weekend here in central Ohio - and Origins Game Faire was in town, so I was able to meet up with some City folks at BD's Mongolian Barbeque.
  13. One thing to remember about those current Vet Rewards that are "so close" for you - Freedom isn't going live in the immediate future (it's in closed beta right now) so you may get the closer Vet Rewards by staying subscribed until Freedom comes out.

My understanding of how the boosters will work is that you can buy separate components from the existing boosters in the store for Paragon Points - only want the Magic Bolero costume piece? - buy that instead of the entire booster.

As far as slots goes - you would get the base 2 slots plus any unlocked by purchase or vet reward and if you are getting close to City Traveller (travel power at level 6), you have a few vet reward slots.
  14. I may change my alt for this to Brighid (Fire/Ice blaster) - I think she is only missing Synapse to get the accolade.

I don't know for sure yet - I probably won't decide until I see the team make-up on Tuesday night.
  15. I know we have done it once in the Saturday at 1 p.m. group (back when Johnny was running the TFs IIRC) - maybe that's where GATE-keeper picked it up.

I really wish I could join y'all on Dr. Q, but i have somewhere to be at 5 p.m. on Sunday, so I'm pretty sure Dr. Q can't be completed in time. A couple of hours earlier, and I would jump on the team. I like doing the "rare" TFs.

    Have fun!
  16. My first 50 is Energy/Electric/Electric. I think those powersets have worked well together.
  17. Bringing someone - probably Brighid (fire/ice blaster).
  18. Impish Kat & Roderick have it exactly right. Corporations do NOT make decisions by taking a small sample of their customer base and let them vote on the future direction of products. Thinking that they might do so is a bit naive and unworldly.
  19. I'm not leaving to head down to Origins until about 1 p.m. today - I can show up to get y'all started if you need me to. I wouldn't be able to stay to complete it, though.

I will be there today to see if you need the padding, since the TF requires 8 to start.
  20. 7 years into the game with origins not having much effect on the choices players make in designing characters - doesn't seem to be much reason to add it now.

Not having to tie specific powersets/archetypes/origins into pre-formed characters is the best part of the game. Why change it?
  21. I must be particularly cranky today - but isn't this discussion a little bit of a "dead horse"? Haven't we had similar suggestions with similar responses multiple times in the past?

Anyway, people who level using the AE are paying their $15 to do so, same as I am paying my $15 to level elsewhere. Devising systems that restrict their ability to do so is an example of telling someone they are "doing it wrong" - but they may have the same attitude concerning the way that I play.

I don't want them telling me that I need to change my ways, and I extend the same courtesy to them.

Well, honestly, if that was the reason for this thread - there are tons of other threads on the topic of "all the good names are taken by slacker, no-good trial accounts" where you can see that discussion over and over and over and over...

I think that one issue is that SGs have been abandoned as the "social network" in favor of the Global Channels. SGs aren't needed for forming teams, etc., because the globals have potentially larger membership numbers, and therefore more teaming opportunities.

Pathing was removed as a part of revamping PvP (which appears to be an abandoned developer task). I don't like OP's idea that the pathing restrictions come back in "Secure" plots. One piece of Angry_Angel's post that I agree with is

Extension of comment a few paragraphs above >> Correct me if I'm remembering this wrong.. I thought Secret and Secured plots have different permissions for the number of functional and auxilliary items that can be placed. While I'm more interested in function than form, again, I do know some base builders who might scream if their 10, 000 count base was rendered useless because pathing was once again reversed for the type of plot they chose to use.
The bolded part above is a huge consideration for many of the large, elaborate bases, mine included. If having the energy and control needed to run all the blueside 'porters makes my base vulnerable to raids and loses the ability to stack and merge items as I please, I will be very unhappy. Matching plot size alone won't prevent this.

I have come to grips with the lack of "base love" and I doubt that anything will be changed from the current system. That's unfortunate, because I've seen some fansastic bases built by this community - but all of our suggestions have fallen on deaf ears for years now. But time will tell....

(BTW, OP, your thread title is a bit misleading - most of the decisions you discuss were made years ago, not recently.)
  24. Huzzah! A new vid from DR/Samuraiko!

I would love to help, so I will be looking for your future casting call...
