Transferring character from 7 day trial
Couple of things.. if you UPGRADED from trial to monthly then your toon should be on whatever server you created it on. If you just downloaded the game with no upgrade you will have to start over as it is considered a 'new' account, not an upgrade of your trial one.
Check the server you created your toon on and he should be there IF you upgraded and didnt start a new account. Otherwise, you are out of luck.
There is no such thing as a training server. Odds are you just picked the top server on the list and jumped on in.
and lastly... welcome to the game !

It sounds like you created a new account instead of upgrading your original account. Do you use the same login name/password on the upgraded account? If not, then contact support to get them to cancel the new account and upgrade the original account. If so, then make sure you are on the same server you were on when you were playing the trial. Trial accounts utilize the same servers that paid accounts do.
Additionally, I'm not sure why you "downloaded the original game" - whatever you were playing the trial on was a full installation of the game.

Thanks for the super quick replies.
I'm also not sure what I downloaded, but I am signing in with the same account details. In the training server I just clicked "you're on a trial version, buy now".
I know I was only on the training server, which I think might have been offline? Through the NCLauncher (i'm on a mac), I was clicking on City of Heroes Test instead of City Of Heroes.
Any advice? Who do I email in support?
Thanks all
The Training Room server is the test server. I think that might have gotten closed down to beta test the next round of stuff once I20.5 went live yesterday but I'm not sure. I don't have it installed so I can't check myself.
The test server isn't meant for general levelling: you can get characters deleted at any time, you aren't guaranteed access to it all the time.
I recommend rerolling your character on a live server.

The server called the "Training Room" is the test server for new patches for the game before they go to live. Unfortunately, while it's possible to transfer a character from one of the Live servers to the test server, the reverse is not allowed, for a variety of reasons. In this case, you will have to either recreate the character you made during your trial on one of the live servers, or just play that character as a "test native", as anyone with a current account can still access the test server. Given that the character in question was only level 6, I'd recommend the former, though the choice, of course, is yours.
I can still login, but it sounds like I lost my character
I have emailed support to see if they can transfer but if they can't, could you recommend a fun character setup for a beginner? I was a Blaster before that I was enjoying but I know nothing about it and am happy to try anything
Thanks

Thanks all, I have joined the Champion server but there doesn't seem to be anyone around. Are there any other players on here?
Long story short would any experienced players be willing to take me under their wing to help me learn the basics?
THanks!

Also, keep in mind that even though we just got a new half-issue, it's the beginning of summer now, so you have people going on vacation, working summer jobs, etc, so there may not be as many people on as there usually are. Still, I just got off Pinnacle, where there was more than a handful of people in the zone I was in.
Also, something else to keep in mind is that this game is very heavily instanced, meaning that you won't see a lot of people out on the street. Doesn't mean they aren't there, just that you can't see them.

Also, Champion is a fine server with a lot of helpful vets. I have a few alts there myself, but if you prefer larger crowds, try Virtue or Freedom. Virtue is the unofficial roleplaying server, and Freedom has a reputation as the unofficial PvP and AE Farm (power leveling) server.
Freedom is my home server and there are a lot of great people there, but I would recommend avoiding AE teams at least for a little while. For a bit of context, AE is a system that allows players to create their own missions. While there are many quality story arcs in AE, it tends to be used more often for repetitive XP farms which will level your character faster than you can learn the abilities. I generally play from around 8:30 PM-10:30 PM central time, I'll be happy to create a low level character on any server you wish and show you a few things.
As far as which AT to try, I would recommend as many others have, to make quite a few toons. The game has enough content that you can level a lot of characters without repeating very much. However, if you want specific suggesstions, I would say for someone learning the game a scrapper or a blaster as they are the most straight forward ATs. Scrappers having more survivability, and blasters having ranged (and usually better) damage output.

Hey guys,
I had a character that I was playing on the 7 day trial. I levelled him up to 6 and then decided to buy the game. I downloaded the original game and signed in expecting my character to be there but no dice.
Is there any way to get my level 6 character from the training server onto an online svr?
Thanks
