  2. Must say BF, I was really surprised by this excerpt. I thought that your writing style wasclear and concise (the prose not too flowerey) and your dialogue was very believeable.

    IMHO you appear (in this extract at least) to have overcome two of the biggest hurdles in delivering a well written story.

    Its certainly made me want to get out my Fire/Rad again. Might even consider getting Jump Kick or Kick as well.
  4. Thats a bit of a shame to say the least. I had hoped that with AS and SoM I would have been an ideal scrap/troller.
  5. I did a very small amount of testing last night to see if the Sands of Moo and the Big Axe Thingy get a containment bonus to thier damage (my thinking being that Sands of Moo already being "High damage" could be rather super) but the results were inconclusive.

    Does anyone have a definative answer?

    Quills

    Quills is really nice. I have got both QR and Stamina though and slotted Quills with End-Redux as a priority.

    Not big numbers by any means but lots and lots of small ones and it criticals as well which is a nice bonus.
  9. I was thinking about taking Hide, Reconstruction, Dull Pain, Integration and Instant Healing only from the secondary.
  10. A correctly slotted Reconstruction is a very powerful power indeed. On my regen scrapper with hasten, slotted 3x Recharge & 3x Heals (all SO's) I am regaining aprox. 25-30% of my HP every 45 seconds which is very useful indeed.

    I also intend to take Aid Self and Dull Pain. I also plan to take TP so the idea would be to attack, retreat, heal up and return to the attack asap. I also figure because I'm EM I would really only need to run through my attack chain once BU-As-ET-TF on most opponents to kill them. I figured heals would be the best way to ensure I could complete that chain rather than dodges.

    As you may know I am a serial Altholic and rolled a EM/SR stalker over the weekend and thourghly enjoyed it as a real change of pace and tactics.

    As I always aspire to lvl 50 whenever I roll a new toon I thought that SR would probably not be the best choice for PvP because of all the Focused Accuracy and what-not. So....

    I rolled a EM/Regen and seem to be levelling a lot easier atm. I picked it because reading some of the posts on the thread I assumed that even as an SR stalker I will get hit and probably die quiet quickly. However as a Regen I get a good heal, a HP boost (which could double as an emergency heal) and potentially Heal Self too.

    Is this logical thinking?

    Also do any SR powers give a bonus to stealth? i.e. is hidden regen stalker just as hidden as a SR stalker?

    Soz, I'm completely ignorant about Speed Boost and the slotting was really a bit of an after-thought. I pressume that End Mods are the way to go and that the recharge on it is pretty reasonable if I don't need recharge redux in there?
  14. Thanks for the detailled response. I will definately be dropping BFR as you mentioned and then trying to fit Inertial Reduction in as well.

    I am still keen to get Haste at six so that I can combine it and Siphon Speed asap at lvl 10. Stacking multiple SS is hugely powerful in PvE and will hopefully make levelling a much quicker process.

    One thing I have noticed, having got Haste is the huge end demands already with just my two basic blasts so I will have to include more end redux earlier on.

    I have a question on Bitter Ice Blast. Is it one of those very short range blasts or not? If it is does the range enhancer make much difference and if so how many of them should I include?

  20. Sorry Transfusion. The idea was that if I have a defender for PvP (my Kin/PSI) I would slot Transfusion and use it offensively for End Drain.

    If for example I'm fighting toggle heavy opponents like Brutes might this be enough to knock off a couple of their toggles?

    If I get in a scenario where I can use it to heal me, I am probably only seconds away from dying anyway. I would also get the benefit of the inherent heal regardless of the slotting.

    1. Does anyone slot Transference for End Mod instead of heals? I have noticed a decent end drain effect with it unslotted and wondered if this was viable.

    2. Siphon Power. It might just be me but I haven't noticed any benefit from the damage increase when it is stacked. The first application gives a boost but then apparently nothing. Is this working as intended, bugged or a mistake on my part?

  22. I took this thread to heart over the weekend and rolled a PSI defender albeit a Kinetics.

    Having only just reached lvl 9 I am somewhat of a buff-machine. With Siphon Speed and Haste I can double stack SS and triple stack Siphon Power already! I'm not even on TO's yet.

    Against single targets (Lead Brick bosses) being fave I can span Subdue and be ready to hit them again before the Immob wears off. Plus although the first attack is pants the -recharge is a nice feature when combined with SS.

    The only thing I would say is that the decent attacks in PSI are late coming but the toon feels pretty immense already.

    PvP Tanks

    I've come a little late to this thread, mainly because I've been messing about with Scrappers and (dare I say it) Brutes of late.

    I have just rolled an Ice/Axe tank. Ice because I have only had a lowbie one in the past and Axe because I figure I could probably have a coherent attack chain of;

    BU - Cleave (extreme dam) - Swoop (Superior dam) - Beheader (Superior dam) - Pendulum (Superior dam) wash and repeat...

    If need be I could fill in any holes with either Gash or Chop. What do you think?

    I will not get as high a burst as EM and I know I will be more greatly resisted but across the entire attack chain I should be able to put up some really good numbers. Possibly enough to overcome a scrappers regen rate?

    Comments and thoughts please.

    I was refering to the Electric and Fire Melee sets. I prefer the Elec AOEs to Fires and there are more of them.
