Sands of Moo & Big Axe question

I did a very small amount of testing last night to see if the Sands of Moo and the Big Axe Thingy get a containment bonus to thier damage (my thinking being that Sands of Moo already being "High damage" could be rather super) but the results were inconclusive.

Does anyone have a definative answer?

The normal Sands of Mu temp power from the COH mission doesn't get extra containment damage so I'd expect the veteran version wouldn't either.

That's right, it doesn't. Haven't checked the Axe but I would guess it's the same.

It doesn't.

They're both classified as temp powers and therefore doesn't gain anything from Containment.

Well it still does more damage than my force bolt!

Thats a bit of a shame to say the least. I had hoped that with AS and SoM I would have been an ideal scrap/troller.

Does the same apply for all ATs inherents then? I.E the powers are unaffected by Scourge.

Yep, only primary, secondary, pool & epic Controller powers can get containment.

The Axe does about 70-80% the damage of non-contained Propel at with my level 29 controller. Seems very powerful, even without containment. And thats Propel 3 slotted with Damage SOs.

As for if it works with Scourge I'd say not too.

Even without containment a Fire Controller with AS, the Axe & Hotfeet running would be a total scraptroller. The biggest hitch I has with Maloth was pre 32 the lack of single target damage for taking out bosses & lieuts while Hotfeet burnt the minions up.

Just treat them as you would Brawl.
Hence limited AT bonuses.
No gauntlet, no critical from hide, no containment damage etc etc

Its certainly made me want to get out my Fire/Rad again. Might even consider getting Jump Kick or Kick as well.

[/ QUOTE ]Fury and defiance will work since they're damage (and ToHit, in case of defiance) buffs on the player itself. Vigilance should also work.

I've taken Sands of Mu on both my Level 38 Ice/Rad and my Level 14 Fire/Kin.

Very impressed. Especially on the Ice/Rad who I have a very low damage output set up on - the biggest attacks she has at the moment, apart from when I can entice Jack in to mele with the offer of Mint Feasts, are the croatoa temp powers which I've still got a fair bit of time left on too - and with Rad secondary accuracy is not really an issue on them.

From my "testing" (OK, bashing stuff) last night, I would agree that Containment does not work on them.

I was under the impression that Defiance made no change to Brawl's damage, hence wouldnt effect these new powers.
Guess it depends whether Temp Powers and Inherent powers come under the same blanket.

To the Test-Mobile!
