Quote:The part that you seem determined to ignore is that whatever backstory you choose to write is not relevant. The DEVS have said in the past that your characters have never met, your characters are strangers. Their game, their rules. Their decision is the only one that matters.
Now with Going Rogue coming out there is the possibility that we might see some progress towards a global bank.
...source please
EDIT: Devs say alot of things regardless of what game it is... thing can and have changed in some cases... So my question to everyone who says (whinney voice) "The Devs Said..." is this: Who made you the authority on What is set in Stone Armor? As You said yourself, Forbin: Their game, their rules. Their decision is the only one that matters.
...that kinda works both ways ya know... -
Quote:...... The basic design paradigm is that our characters are individuals in a virtual world. They only share a common link through a single player because that makes them easy to account for as far as monthly subscriptions go. Beyond that characters have no in-game connection to each other at all.
......r.
As I have stated in another thread on this same topic: explain to me HOW none of my toons have no in-game connection at all when they are all in the same SG or VG?
You can't really make that statement as different people will play this game differently. So this portion of your statement makes nlittle sence... no matter if it is what you believe nor if it is what everyone "thinks" the Devs intended.
If I want them to all be brothers and sisters, who are you to tell me any different? (Not being rude, just stating a fact as it pertains to the why that I play)
As far as the rest of your post... Well, it makes too much sence to disagree with, so I wont.
But then, I'm not a programmer so what do I know about code? -
/e approval clap
I am not always in that much of a hurry to get from point a to point b... layer cake cave anyone??? walking would be nice there. -
Honestly... who DOESN'T just love reading Bill's posts???
Let's have a show of hands... so I can /e smack you ;P -
First and formost to anything esle, let me welcome you to the forums LanceGunner!
Quote:Greetings I have for sometime now have been thinking long and hard on a what I feel would be a great suggestion and I suggest is this...in addition to sg bases I suggest super group cities should be created this would make assulting a base very fun and this I feel would bring alot of people to city of heroes and city of villians and heres more detail about it...the npc's to buy these land plots would be for heros in atlas part and Villians it would be in Grandville and this would be unlocked for sg leaders levels 10 and up with infromation Guide npc's in most of the other areas in the game and once one buys this plot of land they would be able to pick from a set of thirty maps to make this city and in the city itself it would have an npc for improving the city anywhere from mines to defence turrents to moving things like tanks also this npc would have a decor section where you can buy flags and the like to make your city better and then there would be a mission npc where when the missions are done a badge would be earned that unlocks special costumes for there members as well as a npc that sells special buffs and powers depending on the type of character you are also in the city would be a trainer for its members to train there powers also include a place to buy other players created items or recipes and the like...also I suggest what I am sure others have suggested is that a cross shard bank be added so that way you can send stuff to your other characters no matter what shard there on...this feature can even be bought if that makes it even better and last lets say...1 month...and for now thats it for my suggestion my only wish is to see coh/cov become the number one mmorpg again.
...Now as Folonius has already pointed out, you "text wall" is very difficult to read. I had to read through his fixed quote to keep from getting a headache.
However... I think what you are getting at is something like you'd be able to see the extiriors of the bases that you are raiding. Sort of like what you get when on a Mothership raid or PvP area Base attacks?
Well I like the idea. You get an approach, then the infiltration, and then the interior raid! Not a bad Suggestion at all.
I Don't think it will happen... but "they" said the same of Power Customization too and look what the next issue has in store for us... -
Okay, I wanted to chime in on the whole "Your charachters don't know eachother" thing...
umm...
ALL of my Toons are in the SAME SG or VG. Every single one on every single sever on all 3 of my accounts.
Now would someone please explain to me how it would be possisble, by the laws of imaginary physics (game world=imagination), that they NOT know eachother!
I don't care what anyone thinks the Dev's said on the subject, or for that matter even if they really did say and mean something like that... I will RP my toons however I like as long as I don't violate the EULA. I pay for my subs, so I will play them how I like.
If I have a filthy rich 50 and then roll a new alt (who automatically joins the SG or VG), the new guy has no money/infl/infa... flat broke! so what if the 50 wants to help out the new recruit with a little spending cash to get him going?
I think this is a good and valid suggestion.
What a wonderful world of free-thinkers that we all live in! -

Quote:...crap! Very good point, Durakken. the man-hours needed for this could possibly reach epic proportions! But then again, the same was said of Power Customization...It's not "impossible" nor would it be that hard from what I know. The problem with it is that with doing something like this you change the dynamics of thousands of costume pieces which would all need to be checked and such.
...Ok, another good point... I don't really have much to say on that one... -
I don't even know why anyone would hate this idea...
The insane possiblilities are endless... and fun to imagine!
/signed -
Really... I am not seeing a problem that NEEDS resolving other than your own issues with abandonment...
Why don't you try being more friendly and competant team member?
...also... this is just a game! -
...and this...

This:
Quote:ooo, here's another idea, how about we all just give you our login details, and you can play for us.
No really.
We don't mind.
I mean, really, who needs individual tastes and playstyle when you can just dictate them for us.
We've been fools for all these years! Thankyou for opening our eyes.
I'll be sure to join your team and never quit.
Ever.
For any
Reason
At all.
EVER.
(ok, maybe I went a bit overboard with the overwhelming sarcasm)

I've got an idea: Instead of talking crap about someone due to lack of info, why not just offer polite suggestions or help if you have some expertise in the area?
This whole "whoever took over Mids is a slaker" or whatever is getting irritating! IT WAS AND IS FREE!!! They are trying to help us!
Fleeting Wisper, I would love to be able to help you guys with this... but as I am not a progammer, (just an avid gamer and CoX addict: 3 accounts w/ over 200 alts I think) I don't have any idea how I could be of any assistance. -
Are you kidding?!?
/SUPER-DUPER-DOUBLE-DOG-DIGGITY-SIGNED!!! -
Point of fact, Masterdevil: This is one of those things that we, as Subscribers of a game, have to realize will be less likely to happen due to the fact that we CAN roll alts.
To argue that you want something that, in effect, is somewhat already there... just in a different for... well that just does not make for a good argument.
I do understand what you mean and I would like to have more of a selection on 1 toon as well.
This just ain't gonna happen, bub.
Then again... you just never know. -

Quote:... or use it to create a secret second account for trading things to your other toons. lol
I currently have 3 active accounts with over 300 something toons... I use them simultaniously to solo/PL-THE-HELL-OUT-OF-MYSELF/build cool teams starting off with tank, heal, troll toons...
it's fun... try it. -
Welcome back!
I play mainly on Triumph with 3 accounts at once. Usually late at night. Been playing since just after launch so if you happent to be on triumph and need a hand, I'm @P Y R O N I T E (all caps with the spaces) ...or @Pulsebolt or @Adam Alpha.
I'm glad to pay forward the help that has been given to me back in the day. Even if you just need to team up for some help getting through your archs... that gose for anyone, really. -
It does go up as you lvl, OP.
I think that you may be confusing Pres with infl/infa...? That goes down if you play in SG mode. -
Blpup... I had ta do it... Sig is funny as hell!

[ QUOTE ]
This 'raise the level cap' stuff is so tiresome (and I'm a bit cranky so I guess this is a minor rant).
At level 50 my Widow has defeated Lord Recluse in personal combat, sliced up most of the Phalanx at one point or another, personally defeated Statesman (that one with a bit of assistance from a Shivan, I'll admit), killed the corporal form of a goddess, directly foiled Nemesis... I could go on for quite a while here.
What would a level 60 even mean... that you could solo the Hamidon? Stage a one-man/woman/whatever Mothership raid? What would even be the point of such a character?
I don't have any problems with them finding ways for level 50s to develop, it sounds like these coming universal slots will provide an avenue there, but raising the level cap would make a joke out of the entire campaign background.
Quit with the level-cap-raising talk. Please.
