Stryker is the only elec/kin I know on Union...should ask him
-
3 slotted EndMod, with Transference, it pretty much equalizes Empathy's Recovery Aura.
-
Well, I'm not sure on Fire/Empathy's endurance...if it's good, go for it
Leadership powers are the Super Set of the mastermind, a */FF with no attacks can have defencive toggles from the power pool sets and all Leadership powers on, with no stamina, without losing endurance. -
Well, I've always liked NRG as a secondary set, as there are quite a few good moves in it, rather than picking, say, the primary Immob, and build up, you could pick some of the boosts, Total Focus, and Bone Smasher. However, if you are an RPer like myself (even very slightly) it's kind of hard to find anything that goes with it except Elec or NRG Primary. In PvP I've fought a lot of Elec/NRG blasters and liked them.
*/Devs is supposed to be quite a fun set, and always comes in handy...
But to be honest, I'm not the expert -

all archtypes are brilliant, just depends on the player.
the most feared in pvp is a controller.
personally, i cant stand stone/storm controllers.

Yep, Storm is already a very controllerish set, and is very similar to Stone. Hurricane completely eliminates AStrikes, even if they may get in a long range crit. Steamy mist is a great team defence, and resistance to energyies, and termperature. Tornado is very annoying to anyone it is tossing around and disorienting- it also reduces defence for those pesky Stalkers. Freezing rain is imo one of the best powers in the game when coupled with Snow storm, pretty much a mass immob when slotted, knockdown more than earthquake, and -fly etc for runners. Again, a -defence. o2 boost isn't that good, but it's still a heal!

No your storm troller owns melee class pvp , I think you will find there are specific anti-storm troller builds out there, just ask Talin and Window licker
Storm is an incredibly useful (re annoying ) powerset though and the humiliation I suffered as a brute at TGs hands spawned my PVP specific stalker

*cough* Defenders FTW! -
Depends. If you want to be uber and damaging, I'd take Fire (like I did). If you want to be more like a defender, then I'd take Sonic (good Dmg res debuff) or Ice (fantastic debuffing and holds etc).
For the secondary, if you just want to make a blaster, go for traps. Kinetics is imo the best secondary, as it counters out Empathy more than I think Fire does. Fire has more empathy like heals, but Kinetics covers everything: Speed (great for Stone Brutes), endurance (in the form of speed boost), endurance (in the form of Transference), a great heal, albeit AoE, good damage buffs, and again, all that I have said, in reverse for the enemy.
Rad is a good secondary, as it has good buffs and Debuffs, but I wouldn't go for Rad as a primary, but I've never really liked it. Dark is a great secondary, and is very evil
If I was in your position, I'd probably go for Fire/*, the secondary, as none are truly blasterish, is up to you -

I fought the first villans ever today in Siren's, but I died before I could even target them. One snook up on me and assassin stroke me then used another attack to finish me off.
Did any dev consider this fair? If so, I wanna know what AT than can beat a Stalkers which will 75% of your life before the duell even starts.

Well, my Storm/Dark defender manages to take on Stalkers solo pretty easily... Especially with the IR Goggles temp power purchased by the hospital. Storm has good slows, AoE to uncover them, knockbacks to stop em running, good defence, and dark has great accuracy debuffs. Hurricane stops all AStrikes, as they can't touch you. Just today I solo'd a Stalker, and a Corruptor.
The Stalker was Katana/*(not sure, ninjitsu or SR), and the corruptor was Ice/Ice. The corruptor's Ice attacks weren't really damaging much, as Steamy mist has Temp. protection which I have slotted, and I had plenty of breakfrees. I put a snowstorm on the Stalker, and then lay down Freezing Rain. I managed to immob the corruptor (no such luck with the stalker) and take him out with ease. The stalker couldn't get near me, as I had hurricane on. When he did manage to get close, his accuracy was too bad, and he kept getting knocked backk. I put in a tornado, for extra knockbacks, defence debuffs and disorient, I managed to get in two snipes, and then a few attacks later, he was out. However, I did end up with about 10% health....Which is what Tp is for! -

OK. Which is better? Super Reflexes obviously has the best and most Defence, but Ninjitsu has special powers to help, such as AoE Placate (which I heard wasn't too good because of the animation time...?)
In your own opinion, which set is better, why, and which are some of the best/worst powers and why? Thanks. -
Not sure if I completely understood, but AP is pretty much a necessity now...ED Heals were amazing, and AP wasn't needed. Now you don't 6 slot your heals, it's not so good anymore, and there's nothing really you can slot em with, maybe with an end reduc. AP is perfect now. If you just stay out of the way, not aggroing anything (Invis may help if you get in a twist) you can heal and heal and heal. Hasten is also a pretty necessary power for empaths. Your heals don't do so well on anyone now, so think of the Tanks! Yes! Those big things that stand in the way, grunting and burping and stepping on enemies, they need love and attention too. AP is perfect for em

Well the attacks don't really matter that much in my opinion, they are equally as good for different reasons.
Most tanks go for Superjump as:
a) It goes with the 'Strong Bulky Powerful' element of a tank
and
b)You can get Combat Jumping as the first power (6+) , which is a good defence buff, and you can get Acrobatics, which is like Unyielding I think (20+) -
Well...
Dark Blast in my opinion is a fantastic set, especially if you want to be (De)Buff/'Defender' orientated, as it has many useful debuffing powers.
You would be better with Assault rifle for a short while, where you were familiar with it, and would know the powers to choose.
Both of these sets are apparently very fun.
Both of these sets are equally evil.
It all depends on: If you want to be more uber, especially in the later lvls, then pick dark, but if you want to possibly look better, go with Assault Rifle.
Other things going for the Assault Rifle, are the RP friendlyness. Dark and Cold don't go together, as a superhero normally has one power, or two that are similar, eg Storm/Elec.
'Techno' moves go with anything.
eg: A robotics mastermind can have any secondary set, without feeling stupid, as the robots could be a gadget, and the power could be his real Power.
So Assault Rifle goes with anything.
Another way of solving this, if you have your heart on Dark, is to simply make your origin Technology.
But this would make it pretty necessary to have an armoured/metal/robotic costume, or at least bulky metal Gloves.
I'd personally go with Assault Rifle. -
Hand Clap I think is the only power in the Super Strength set, but I'm not sure if it's really worth it...if it had damage....then WOW
-
Well, for Storm it took me a while to find what I wanted, unfortunately, some of the cooler powers just aren't that good.
I had hurricane for a good while, but I realised that I never really used it, especially as I couldn't be botherd to use it perma as my end already sucked, although I might respec it in again, thinking about it.
I had Tornado all the way from when I got it to around lvl 45, but people kept on telling me that it was annoying. I know what they mean, I guess it's like Kinetics>Repel for melee users, but I still get the time where I just wanna put a tornado in the middle of a massive mob.
Gale, well, I suppose you have to have it as a controller.
I have the heal, but it's not very good really, heals around 400 or something, but the Res to disorient is quite handy.
Snow Storm + Rain is a fantastic combo. Not the damage of course, I slotted Rain with defence debuffs, slows, and Recharge. Snow storm is a great slowing move, and it's got quite fast regen, although at the lower lvls I found it drained my endurance. With Slow enhancements, it keeps the enemies in the rain for ages, the knockback of the rain is pretty much constant on almost anything, so it's a pretty good holding move, and the scatter stops them from attacking you.
Steamy mist is a great buff, I slotted it with 3 defence buffs, 2 end reductions, and one damage resistance (to fire, cold, negative energy and energy I think)
The Storm is amazing, and I slotted it mainly for damage. Although before ED It was 100 times better. The knockback saved my life plenty of times in Held situations, it seems to know when you're in trouble, smart lil thing
Thunderclap is also quite good looking and cool, but I tended not to use it much, and the accuracy was quite disappointing, and I already had a disorient from the dark set (dark pit) so I respecced it out.
There ya have it, storm in a nutshell. -
It has been said that Corruptors do around 75% of the damage that Blasters do.
Kinetics corruptors, Siphon Power and Fulcrum shift, that has to easily make up for the 25% difference and more!
I'm not sure of the exact statistics, or of any other corruptor Damage buffs, but it must surely count for something for that a measly 25%
But of course, I'm not counting the fact that Blasters have Build up and Corruptors don't... -
*/Dark Scrappers? Doesn't the invis provide good Perception?
-
[ QUOTE ]
Nope, its called power build up, and yes it will increase defence debuffs
[/ QUOTE ]
Yep, boosts all secondary effects as well. It says that in the info doesn't it?
Anyway, I got all of the moves in Power Mastery for my defender...
a) Good Shield
b) Good Attack
c) My end was terrible, and Conserve was pretty much Perma with Hasten alone.
d)Power Build up really helped the immobs/disorients etc from Storm AND Dark, and it made my BlackStar amazing
e) There was nothing else to pick! -
Well, PBs are more Uber damage, and Warshades are more Holds. On the whole, I think that PBs are easier to team with, and are better. But WSs are more fun, and diverse; however, too evil for us Heroes.
-
You should take everything.
Most invul tankers have been forced to take them all since ED, and Scrappers are even squishier. All of the powers are still great, may want to 3 slot damage resistance and 1 slot end reduction for some though. -
I've been thinking that 'Druid' Character would be pretty fun. Can't really think of the pets, but some of the attacks/power ups could be stuff like Volcanoes... The secondary set to match this could be Storm Summoning, as it is greatly needed in CoV!
-
Now Pesimist (lvl 28 mastermind) is joining as well....We need more recruits, please join if you have the time! Do it for the XP if not for the respec, and do it for the fun, more than anything else!
