Ninjitsu vs Super Reflexes

OK. Which is better? Super Reflexes obviously has the best and most Defence, but Ninjitsu has special powers to help, such as AoE Placate (which I heard wasn't too good because of the animation time...?)

In your own opinion, which set is better, why, and which are some of the best/worst powers and why? Thanks.

PvE I think Ninjitsu,
PvP I think SR

and why is that?

I find SR better simply because you have more defence. Its easier to use AS against a target using blazing aura, mudpots, hot feet and so on. The AoE defence from SR is almost twice as high as ninjitsu Iirc.
More defence will also make it easier to flee.

With ninjitsu you get tools (caltrops and so on). Tools are not always good in PvP. Either its very situational or its too hard to use with any decent effect. PvP is often too fast for very detailed tactics.
You also lack knock down/back protection with ninjitsu which can be bad when you are trying to flee.

For late PvP: SR.

For early (up to lvl 30) PvP: Ninjitsu.

The AoE defense bonus from SR doesn't come until lvl 32, and before that it's lower than Ninjitsu (with a little better defense versus meele and ranged). Ninjitsu also has a nice little bonus in the form of a self heal, and the mez protection is also a good one (protects against fear and confuse). Yes, it's lacking knock-back protection.

So, if you like Sirenes Call, I'd say: go for Ninjitsu. If you want to risk a little (we don't yet know what the final PvP zone will be like, besides the name, and Warburg is not as fameous as SC), then go for SR.

Its not AoE placate, its AoE blind if I am correct. Placate makes you 'hidden' to a target, and able to get the instant criticals/full AS damage, blind however simply means they cannot see you, but you are not in the 'hidden' state.

we have both

blinding powder : Cone, -ACC, -Perception, Sleep, Confuse
smoke flash: Aoe placate (long activation time tho)

@Shift
Shift 50 DM/DA Scrapper ][ TTL 50 Kat/Reg Scrapper ][ Shabriel 50 Peacebringer ][ Ion Shift 46 Rad/Rad Corruptor ][ Thermal Shift 35 Fire/Fire Blaster
"A Scrapper is a lot like a chainsaw. Somewhat hard to handle, incredibly dangerous, and by far the most fun when wielded by the slightly insane."

Smoke flash isn't really that long activation time.
Caltrops suck in PVP tho in nijitsu

from charactor builder
ninja reflexes X3 Def So's = 19.5% Def (melee)
ninja Danger Sense X3 Def So's = 19.7% Def (ranged / AOE)
Hide 1 Def So = 9.1% Def (melee/ranged/AOE)
If someone wants to compair to SR.

I have them and wouldnt drop them for the world. Mostly i use them for runners, ie people i know are gonna run the minute i attack
Another use i find is for tankers, keeps em nice and still for when we stalkers need to combine to take em down

So? Very rarely does anyone actually think to escape them. 99% of the time people keep trying to run away... albeit very slowly

Not to mention when my team is pitted against another and i throw Caltrops into the fray giving a recharge debuff to the opposing team.....

IMO they are far from sucking.

You can't jump off of Caltrops...

World of Jackcraft.

Yep, only fly or tp gets you off them. (in pvp anyway)

Tell that to all the NPCs who jumped out of my Tar Patch. OK, so it's not Caltrops, but still...

Yeah, going hovering while in caltrops removes the slow element but not the damage, fascinating, isnt it?

Do you have the tweezer temp power for removal of the caltrops embedded in the soles of your feet?
