1. Like the thread subject suggests: I want to know whats the best course of action to take for single target damage.

I know everyone keeps saying that Attack Vitals is a good combo finish, but I can't stop thinking it's more useful for AoE situations, not boss (or bigger) fights.
2. I've got one more question.

After slotting up a bit, I definitely improved. However, today, I took a mission that involved the Lost. And surprise surprise, the first group of 3 (included an Anathema) mashed me in record time. I couldn't hold the Anathema... held for a second, then went straight after me.

What do I do against such groups?

3. I don't have any farming toons sadly, so all I can do is do the RWZ repeatable missions (I do them rather fast).

Bah! Gonna be a long road I see.
4. Holy... You guys hacked the game or something to get specific enhancements at will or just got access to unlimited infamy?
5. One more question:

Does it matter what lvl the +recharge Luck of the Gambler enhancement is? Or does it have to be max 33 for powers below lvl 30?

It's already damn expensive and rare... and having to have to look for one from a specific level range makes it even worse.

EDIT:
Never mind... read it, and as I see it, I need to look for specific levels too. Damn!
6. I already said, that even if I'm not to pick any powers, picking a patron is kinda hard, as none of them buggers fit with my character.

Mako has the attitude, but he's more for mutates, while Scorpion... well, he's more natural (tho more for tech/science characters).
7. I need to sit one day and really carefully check the available set buffs... I had no idea there were so many with specific bonuses. Most I ever found were the ones with "chance of x damage".

BTW, isn't that Mako +dmg enhancement in AS more of a luck thing? Mids says it's just 71,8 extra Lethal damage... But I guess this calculation is based on a 'non-hidden' attack, and I don't know how it calculates for a proper hidden attack.
8. Whoa... looking at some of the stats in Mids, I can't figure out where'd you get some of the bonuses.

Anyway, I really don't like HO enhancements and the large number of Luck Of The Gambler (+rech) due to how rare (read: expensive) they are, so here's my quick mod of your build:

I know there are still Luck Of The Gamblers +rech in there, but that's only because I was too lazy to replace them all with something else. All in all, I'd leave 1 (if I can afford it), for now, in Hide. The one in Invisibility I'd replace with a common recharge IO.

Alas, Build Up could really use some more loving I think, but I just don't know where I could get the extra slots from at this point...

In other words: it's awesome, if someone can afford it. Alas, I don't have such Infamy reserves, so I have to tweak it.
9. So, lvl 33s for powers up to 30, 43s for powers up to 40, and 50s for powers up to 50?

What about the build as a whole? 'S it any good after the modifications?
10. Don't sets work only on a certain level? That is, if I equip my stalker with lvl 50 sets, then sure, I'll get the biggest bonuses, but they'd only work in RV as far as PvP is concerned (in this case, I guess PvE is of lesser importance, but it'd still be nice to be able to kill a mob now and then).

On the other hand, if I get the lower lvl sets (lvl 30, for example), then the set bonuses will work in most PvP zones, but I won't get nearly as high power bonuses...

Of course I could try and go for a middle ground: get lvl 30 sets for powers <30, lvl 40 sets for powers <40, and lvl 50s for powers <50. But that still feels sub optimal.

Anyway, please correct me if I'm wrong. Or suggest some sets.

Currently all enhancements are lvl 25-30, which is off... they should be like I wrote before 30s for powers <30, 40s for powers <40 and 50s for powers <50 and 50s for common IOs.

Tho I fear the price tag on this build...
11. Since I've taken a long break from the game and now I'm dusting off some of my old characters, I noticed an unused EM/regen stalker sitting in the corner.

Now, I remember, at the point when I stopped playing CoX, people bashed /regen stalkers for being very poor in... well, anything.

So, I almost deleted it, until I stumbled upon this little nifty guide: http://uk.boards.cityofheroes.com/showfl...ge=1#Post835593
(Someone posted it in one of the threads here)

Looks nice... and it should even work (at least to some extent) in PvE.

There's just one thing I don't like about it, and it's the lack of a 'vertical' travel power. Yes, there are plenty of temp flying powers (including the one you can purchase), and Hasten is great, and later there's TP...

But I still hate it. As such, I need to ask: would this thing still work if deprived of Hasten and SS?

Something like this:

12. Actually, if I'd consider taking any powers, then you're right (mace is closest to being 'natural'). However, if I'd skip any patron powers and just go with a 'most fitting patron', then I'd have to chose between Scorpion (tech) and Mako (similar attitude to my char).
13. Heh, I couldn't really think of one that would fit, like you put it, thematically.
14. Like the title suggests, what's a good patron pool for a Dual Blades / Willpower brute?
15. SoulWarden

MM vs AV/Hero

I know this will sound hallow, but I ALMOST soloed that giant AV fire demon on some CoT mission (forgot his name). I didn't only because it was taking a LOOOONG of time, and I had to go away from the computer. But I was doing it, and I think I got him to 1/2 HP.

But that's about it.

I managed to kill Luminary on my own, but for some strange reason she wasn't purple like they always are, so the fight was easy. (I guess this is what you mean by downgraded?) When it came for Mynx (who was also on the same mission), and who was a proper lvl 50, I had my [censored] kicked and had to retreat and call for backup.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot! I'm a Robo/Dark MM.

EDIT 2: I never had any problems with EB, except with Balistas at one point (I think I was missing some enhancements back then).
16. *sniff sniff*
So much for the hopes of taking my brute into PvP...

I guess I should have picked SS or Energy... But DAMN, them blades are cool.
17. Hmm... what about PvP then?

Seems to me that holds are VERY useful.
18. I've made myself a popular dual blade / willpower brute some time ago... now, while it's fun and visually cool, I double checked the powers, and there are absolutely no holds / disorients or anything in there. Other sets like Stone or SS get some form of a hold.

So... what gives? Why? Any chance to around that?
19. So... with all that's been said... where should I look as a villain for other role players?

Now, about a year ago, I used to be part of EVIL, which was cool, but then I took a REALLY long break from CityOfX, and... well, as Lunk put it nicely, EVIL just doesn't seem to be the same thing any more (I still see a lot of people from that SG, but no one I know / remember).

Now, I myself enjoy only an 'occasional' roleplaying session, and I don't mind going OOC mindless mob-killing, so while I enjoyed my time at EVIL, I don't think I'll switch SGs for one that's more RP oriented... at least not for the time being.

But still, I'd really love to team up a bit with my crazy robot, especially since my 'robo-speak' skills are getting rusty, and need some serious oiling. So... if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

And since I'm on the subject (altho this probably deserves it's own topic), may I ask those interested to read the bio I wrote for Nexus Com? http://shaamaan.neostrada.pl/Nexus.html
Please excuse the harsh format, as I didn't want to waste time formatting the text, and just 'get it out there' ASAP.

(I'd like to point out that whatever I got from before I left the game over a year ago is long gone, after the few reinstalls and formats that had taken place, and I've allowed myself to change reality a little bit... In case anyone has any objections to things that don't fit with what happened - if you can even spot the differences that is - let me know.)

As always in such cases, criticism is welcome.
20. Looking through the forum (altho I WILL admit, I only took a quick look), and asking around in game, it turned out that there's no real place where villain roleplayers would meet. Heroes have the nice Galaxy Girl, and I found lots of them in Pocked D's snow shack drinking 'warming' liquids. All very nice, but there were no villains in there at all, and it's hard to ask a hero to join me for some fun Longbow butt-kicking.

So, with all my inquiries, all I've found was an invite-only chat channel on Union; for heroes really, but since it's an OOC, there's always a chance that someone's playing a villain at the moment.

So, with all that said, I have a question: IS there a place where villains meet for some role playing action?

And if the answer is NO, then how about some more definite movement to PICK such a place?
21. It's Lift.

And thanks for advice. I'll try that!

EDIT: What about mass immob?
22. I've made a Grav/Mind dominator, and... well, for the first few levels, it's been fun. A bit slow at times, but fun. But now I'm starting to wonder how the heck does a Dominator do it?

I find myself against a team of 3 WHITE Longbow, and they nearly kill me. I've got one single hold, one mass hold on a huge timer, a mass immob... but the immob is useless, they just shoot me to pieces. I can hold one, yes, but that still leaves 2 shooting.

So... what am I doing wrong? How do you use this class?
23. I DO have Shadowfall...

Albeit I must say that using Howling Twilight seems weird; it having such a long recharge and all...
24. If I may have some more questions then:

PvP zones, if memory serves, are filled with NPCs willing to shoot up anyone that gets too close... just like any other zone for that matter... and one thing I learned when traversing zones, is that traveling with bots can be a bit of a problem; especially if I don't want to shoot every baddie on the way. Having fly as a travel power is all good and swell when it comes to getting from mission to mission, but I'd really like to know if there's any secret to traveling with bots on PvP zones.

Also, you say TP Foe isn't needed... may I ask then how should I 'catch' enemies that are afar? My first guess is to use a hold and try to take them out then, but it's just a guess...
