We've been through this one.
Having our own NPC Nemesis' that we can create and fight against when we choose? Sounds cool, could well be cool. Not an issue.
For other people? Nah, doesn't work so well. Theres also the issue of supplying text and whatnot that makes sense, and a whole other boatload of stuff that would need addressing. -
Ok, this can be simplified very easily;
-The Devs already know some people want swinglines.
-If we get them, we get them.
-If we don't get them, we don't get them.
-Until we DO get them, there's little point bringing it back up and people kvetching over it, because it's a know request.
Simples, eh? -
Quote:Kid, I like PvP when it actually works. Old PvP, while I sucked fairly bad at it, was at least entertaining. Even now, I can do pretty well with Alpha, because softcapped Bots/Traps with a lot of buffs is nasty whichever way you cut it.Amen to what? An ill informed and half *** rant against open world pvp? Why even bother? Just dont play on a pvp server. Problem solved?
Oh is this the point the pvp haters start their usual barrage against anyone who even expresses the slightest appreciation of pvp?
But there are people out there who PvP purely for the fact of lording over other people, ruining their fun and generally being utter tools. ANY game that has PvP will have them. I run into a metric shite ton on Xbox Live. And I ran into a fair few in zones as well.
'Go to a non-PvP server' is a no-brainer if PvP is always open world; people who want to grief and be tools will go to non-PvP servers for the express purpose of hassling people like us who don't want to partake every single time we log in.
So, no, I'm not a PvP Hater, far from it. But hey, maybe YOU should factor in that not everoyone is going to share your point of view? Practice what you preach, pal. -

Again; the A.I. in game needs a serious overhaul and fine tune. It's getting rediculous now.

Quote:Heh, snap.I wasn't insinuating. The devs always said they would like to add power customization when they had the time and resources. What you should have used as your example was the devs position on Fitness. They originally said they'd rather get rid of Stamina altogether before they'd make Fitness inherent, but now we have inherent Fitness.
And yes, Forbin is correct. As is usually the case, damn his squirelly, guiness swigging self. -
Quote:Yes, but (as you wouldnt know), there is already a Rikti Restructurist Ambassador in Grandville, Kuhr'Rekt, working with Recluse and Arachnos. Theres plenty of room to expand on that. But the bad Rikti fight Villains too - it's a similar situation to the loyalists - they're attacking everyone on Primal Earth, not just Heroes, so I think any evil Rikti path would have to involve being a spy and working undercover.
And, in case you hadn't noticed, everyone fights Villains. And Arachnos. And everyone in the Rogue Isles. Come on, GG, keep up

Quote:Amen to that. Amen to that in spades. Thanks for convincing me to never buy that game. I have ZERO interest in a game where some jackhole can gank me any time he feels like it, just to be a jerk.
If I want to PvP, I go where there is PvP. I do NOT want it forced upon me against my will.
I still occasionally PvP here and enjoy it, precisely because when I decide I've had enough PvP, I can leave the zone and know that I'm done with PvP, instead of deciding I've had enough PvP and having to log out of the game because I have no choice in whether I PvP or not.
Open world PvP is, more often than not, a breeding ground for the worst kind of gamer there is: the people who delight in going out of their way to ruin someone else's good time. As I said, I enjoy PvP, but I enjoy it when I WANT to enjoy it, I don't want to have to fight off a bunch of trash talking jacktards just to go from point A to point B. -

You do realise jsut how ludicrously powerful those are, right? You'd never get your hands on them, due to rarity and everyone and their mother wanting one. -
Yeah. Really wish they'd include some AI fixes in I20....What? I can dream, right?

Quote:Except that doesn't hold true. Especially in later levels and on teams, Nemesis mobs practically crap out LTs or things that con as LTs (thank you, snipers...) which ALL cast Vengeance on death. And not a toned down NPC vengeance, either, that has stacking in mind. We're talking full on PC level Vengeance. Using Blaster Numbers, which give the lowest buff values, you'd still get;Nemesis is fine as it is, people just can't grasp the notion of disabling the Lt's and/or killing the bosses/minions first. Agreed about the easier groups, though. I want to see more of the Crey Scorpion tanks especially...
1) +17.% Defence to all
2) Heal 7.998% (8%)
3) +26% ToHit Buff
4) +43.8% Damage Buff (!)
5) -100 Mag protection to KB, -10 Mag protection to Repel and Fear, -55.4% resistance to every other status effect.
And that Stacks! Multiple times!
Now, I don't know the exact NPC numbers. Someone would have to test it in AE to get the results for that. But given the average makeup of Nemesis mobs, and the fact that the higher level ones have nothing BUT the two most damaging attacks in AR, not to mention Fake Nem bosses with forcefields and stacking defences...Nemesis aren't a 'challenge' to fight. They're just a bunch of Jackanist-buffed gits with no diversity. It's boring, grindy and repetitive. Theres so much room for diversity and cool new tricks there. And instead they just go for 'The Computer is a cheating *******.' Lame. -
Quote:....The problem is too many people use the suggestions board as the complaint board. Very few people go through the time and effort to research actual workable suggestions.
Workable suggestions that can be implemented in the time the devs have takes a lot of work on the part of the user to put it into a framework that fits those logistics.
I suggest a new Complaints board where people can voice their greivances

Quote:The only MM summons that 'make sense' are the Necromancy one and the Demon ones. And even then only really the Demon ones if your, say, on the second story of an office block. Because I'm damn sure that its unlikely for there to be fresh corpses there, although the same dark portal arguement can probably be used there.Well really, that's just a matter of opinion.

One can easily say many of the powers in game look stupid, and yet still use them.
Merc repelling down a cord from nowhere doesn't look stupid to you?
It's a case of 'having them just appear would be dull and lame'. And, hey, I can always imagine my Bots teleporting in instead. Or, y'know, my Assault Bot physically crashing through the roof to deploy.
Wish we could pick alternate animations for the summons. C'est la vie...
Ideally, every power would look exactly how its user would want it to. Will that ever happen? Sure...when the Devs have automated robo-slaves to do all the coding and animation 24/7 all year round that can make it so. Until then, it's a matter of time and priority.
TL;DR
If I have to put up with non-customisable bots, you can put up with imagining SJ is line-swinging
-
I prefer Sparks suggestions better, but the idea does have some nice merit, I have to say. Well played.
-
I, Techbot Alpha, approve of this list. Especially the powers list, with maybe the exception of #5. I'm sure others will bring that up with a number fest alongside.
I would also add, add way more mobs to Crey at high levels. They literally become all power suits and Protectors. Which is so much more boring than the lower levels.
And yes, **** you Nemesis and your stacking Vengeance, Flamethrower and Full Auto! Whoever decided to make hostage missions vs Nems where you have to get them out alive should be shot. -
Really, really like the faces. One of the things I still need more practice with. Nice work =]
-
So, back on topic;
Where did that screenshot come from? I now its not on test, because I checked. At least it made sure I was up to date with the most recent patch, but meh. -
I don't think people are asking for Praet high level mobs in zones.
More stuff like destruction in the zones affected in-canon. The whole 'level is time' arguement can only stand up so far, before falling flat on it's face. Beating up the same villain over and over works because, y'know, theres no point to a one shot villain. Its the same thing as Joker Immunity, etc.
But the Rikti Invasion is an obvious example of it done right. Pity that certain otehr zones haven't got a minor facelift and some of the older content overhauled... -
Strewth, whoever predicted that the next of the Paragon crew to leave would be your good self should have run a book, because they were sadly on the money there

Best of luck, and thanks for running stuff on the EU live servers at short notice and all! I was there at the Zombie event in Martial! Thanks for being an ace mod and community rep, and best wishes. -
Quick Q; does Smoke Grenade in devices have to check accuracy, or is it an auto hit power? If yay, then it should surely take accurate-tohit debuff sets, and if nay it shouldn't be able to slot for acc should it?
-
Quote:Bloody awful idea. Sure, I can pull that on Alpha. Reason being the 'orrible little virus is literally pewing +defence out the wazoo. Try that on a Demons/Fire for example, or something mostly res based, and that will just get you killed.I don't want mastermind attacks to do more damage, but I do believe they need something to make them worthwhile picks.
What I would love to see is the attacks given a gauntlet-like taunt effect.
Earth shattering idea here, maybe; Make them cost less end. They have the endurance costs of Blaster attacks at the moment. Halve them. Sure, they dont do much; they dont need to. But they shouldnt COST a truckload of end either. -
Quote:So not using a power that can easily be kept perma on three characters and is immensely useful is considered Great now?-Just- RARA and AB? That'd be like a kin that just uses SB! Now, if he didn't used fort but heal(zored), used all his other buffs and kept us alive... Sure! Great Empath.
And I would thank the forums for not eating my frakking posts!
