Quote:Technical issues happened. Technical issues that they've said they hope to try and resolve. It's likely something to do with how they're dolled out by the Subscription system and tying to get that to work that is causing the issues.So we give you all are money for paragon points up front you give us all are tokens, but if we give you all are money up front and it's for a sub we have to wait for are tokens, huh?
What happened to VIP number 1 priority?
If you give them money up front for the tokens though, you can make considerable savings on your monthly fees. Which is then money you could spend on Paragon Points or coffee or books.
It does suck, and here's hoping for a tech resolution to enable them to work in the way you were intending. -
Quote:The thing is though, all that -is- new content. New content relating to older systems, yes, but new content all the same. It's content, that is new to the game and the related systems.I think I'd love to see everything on this list incorporated! Even more than I want to see more Incarnate powers. Fleshing out the game that already exists would be awesome. I understand why the devs/NCSoft prefer to focus on creating newer content vs adding in/fleshing out content, but still.
How on earth the writers can make jokes about Neuron's 'innovate, never renovate' mindset and continue blithely on that path I just don't know. -
September 14th comes.
They get: 1 Token for 1 month of subscription, 1 Token for a year of subscription, 1 Character slot for 1 year of subscription, 1 badge for 3 years of subscription, 1 badge relating to their token number. -
Quote:Yeah, it's the biggest flaw of the Paragon Studios team IMO. Though that's someting I've been quite vocal on in the past (And will continue to be. A shiny new pair of boots and some nice jeans won't do much about rotting limbs underneath, and getting corpse juice on the shiny new things is never good.)Of course, the devs tend to release things "into the wild" and then never come back to them, so I can't really see it happening, but I agree with you that it would be awesome and add huge depth.
All I can do is hope that one day, my Rogues and Vigilantes will be able to do Rogue and Vigilante things outside of some repeatables one side and some repeatables the other that are actually you becoming a Hero/Villain. -
A year on, Going Rogue is missing these things for me:
1: Rogue content in Paragon City + the Rogue Isles outside of tip/morality missions (conducting deals, making money, smuggling, keeping the law off your back as you chase the almighty dollar.)
2: Vigilante content in the Rogue Isles + Paragon City outside of tip/morality missions (Taking down crooks who the Zig is too good for, going to the Rogue Isles to hunt down someone who's crossed the line, fending off people wanting to bring you in for your brand of justice.)
3: An expansion to the selection of tip and morality missions across the level ranges they occur in. (We had some vigilante and rogue tips added, and 1 new 40-50 Morality mission to each side, but that's it.)
4: Praetorian content on Primal Earth (Primal-fled Resistance trying to take action on an ex-Loyalist, possibly suspecting espionage, Loyalists tracking down Crusader Resistance members for heinous crimes they committed, persecution from Primal residents, a Praetorian-on-Primal subculture, or even Primals wanting to go to Praetoria, thinking it a 'better way'.)
5: Incorporating morality choices and points into story arcs (the arc where you get a warrant put out against you by Crey would make a great point to go Vigilante, or maybe the heat of Arachnos convinces a villain that Paragon might be a safer place to operate.)
6: A chance for heroism in the isles/villainy in the city. More chances to do evil on your own terms, or go to the isles to try and do some good. Especially lacking on the latter. -
The value of the VIP server to me is...
Zortel opens the VIP server and watches a veritable smorgasbord of comedy effect moths flutter away.
Nothing. I don't intend to use it to store characters, I don't intend to play on it, and I shall be rather sad if after the VIP Headstart it becomes a place to be on for hand outs from the devs to all their VIP kiddies.
Union, baby. That's where I made my first character, it's where I'll make my last character. If being a VIP on Union means missing out on random give-aways on Exalted, so be it. -
Rory stole the show with this episode, I think. He's been one of my favourite things of Eleven!Doctor Who. Really enjoyed the episode, though I need to keep away from the official Facebook page, the comments sometimes make my brain scream.
(Special Mention goes to a woman who said that she felt sick whenever the 'repulsive' Arthur kissed Karen. Stay classy!) -
What I'm looking forwards to:
- 12 new character slots on Union
- Ability to roll Fire/Fire Brute as a hero from the get go
- Dark/Dark Blaster
- Getting rid of my Ninja/TA Mastermind for a Ninja/Time Manipulation MM
- Extra Costume Slots
- Cape/Aura Unlock from Level 1 store item
What I'm not looking forwards to:
- Still having to do iTrials to get those new auras and emotes rather than forking over dosh.
- Not being able to play Street Justice yet. -
Quote:Ahah. So scratch that then.Paragon Studios is in the San Fran area, way, way north of the outage area.
I can see people being upset about downtime, but I don't think there's some complainometer that has to register a certain amount before the servers come back on. Keeping servers offline for giggles does not a successful business make. -
While the servers are in Texas IIRC, I've heard about massive power outages in the South California/Arizona/Mexico area. Any chance the Mountain View area is affected?

Quote:Question: What operating system are you using? If you're using a 32-bit one, then upgrading your ram may not prove beneficial. (They can only make use of 3.2Gb of memory including Graphics Cards IIRC.)Right once I get a steady job again i'll be upgrading. Unfortuentaly my motherboard only has 2 slots for Ram (lol?) so Ill just get 2 2gig sticks to make up for 4.
I will lower my settings and such just to test it out. Also, I sometimes leave the CoH launcher up so ill be sure to close it from now on! -
Since CoH's EU beta, I have:
- Been a Bridesmaid for the first time, to two players I met through the game.
- Visited a bunch of places to meet other players that I'd never have gone to otherwise (Bristol, Brighton, Birmingham, Manchester, London, Reading) because...
- Dealt with my panic and anxiety attacks so I could go and meet those people at those places (I still get them sometimes when I go, but now have the strength of will to force my way through and take the first step.)
- Grown a hell of a lot as a roleplayer, and improved thanks to all the peeps at Union's Galaxy Girl RP meets
- Grown a hell of a lot as a writer, and improved thanks to Ravenswing, Morgana_Fiolett and Wordmaker.
- Gained a honorary brother in the form of Gideon, and an honorary uncle in the form of FloatingFatMan.
- Screwed up education but got a job that I do enjoy doing.
- Bought an awesome bicycle.
- Learned to build my own computers and feel more comfortable with upgrading them and messing about inside them.
- Met War Witch, Noble Savage and the EU Community team (Several times in their case.)
- Handed out CoH trial CDs at a comic expo.
- Picked up a coffee drinking habit.
- Picked up a tea drinking habit.
- Got rid of most of my consoles to focus on PC gaming. -
Sprint detoggles Granite Form and Rooted. This is a Bad Thing.

Quote:Considering people have had their stories one starred because they're 'poor farms', this is running counter to that. If people downvote story arcs for being 'poor farms', why not downvote farm arcs for being poor stories?I'm not sure i understand. This is like reading "How-To" texts and reviewing them for plot, storyline and character development. They're Farms, why review them like they're actual stories? I'm sure you'd be quite pleased to have your stories reviewed for their "farm value" and have them trashed because they are lousy farms!
....just sayin -
It was nice to see Daniel Mays (Alex, the father) back in something after his previous sci-fi outing, Outcasts, got canned by the BBC. (Canned on a cliffhanger ending no less. ><)
He was the best part of that show, and I think he was the best part of this episode. Especially the cup of tea scene.
However, the resolution of the episode felt rushed, and finding out that it was supposed to have been before AGMGTW makes a lot of sense now.
I think the episode limits and length of episodes doesn't help these matters. There's been a bunch of sub-par episodes that could easily have been better given an extra part or so. Ah well, the days of the serials are long gone.
Next week's looks interesting though. -
I think they meant Sonic Blast/Shockwave as opposed to Claws/Shockwave.
-
-
Will be rolling the following:
Dark/Dark Villain Blaster
Psi/Mental Villain Blaster
Fire/Fire Hero Brute
Claws/Energy Hero Brute
Ninja/Time Manipulation Hero Mastermind
Street Justice/Willpower Praetorian Brute
Radiation/Radiation Hero Defender (Need the slot space)
Beam Rifle/Dark Miasma or Traps Corruptor -

Okay, scratch my previous mindset.
Time to pass out the Idiot Balls it seems. -
I'm of the mindset that portals open up close to Earth that fire the meteors out to hit Galaxy City, making attempts of countering the meteors impossible due to it happening so fast.
Because it's just stupid any other way.
"Oh hey these meteors are flying straight towards Earth, should we use space based weaponry likely developed due to the Rikti ships flying off out of Earth orbit after the First Rikti War, our advanced technology, magic, or our legions of super heroes to smack them out of the way or destroy them?"
"No! Let's see where they land!"
~~~
"Hey, they're heading for Paragon City, should we evacuate people?"
"No, lol!"
So on and so forth. -
Quote:I'd guess this is the reason:I'm sure this has been brought up before.
Is there a reason everything is on a 20 hour timer as opposed to resetting at a specific time during the day?
Resetting at a given time is a much better solution to capping someone to once per day. If you reset everything at say, midnight, then clearly people cannot do something more than once per day.
What you gain from this is people are not arbitrarily punished if they cannot play the game at similar times 2 days in a row. As it stands now, if one night you had to do something late, and the next day you could not play late, there go your tips/a-merit conversion/TF merit reset/whatever else.
I think it would allow a lot more freedom to play the game without bypassing the current once per day restriction. I realize the 20 hour as opposed to 24 hour was an attempt to deal with it, but let's face it, there are far more than 20 hours in a day.
Do 5 tip missions before Midnight.
Limit Resets
Do 5 tip missions after midnight and Morality.
Congratulations, you've changed alignment in 2-4 hours. -
I certainly am. I have ideas for characters, for costumes, for new power possibilities and so forth, but until Freedom hits, I've been finding it hard to log in and RP.
I think as someone who roleplays a lot in Galaxy City, this is made worse by the fact that the Sword of Damocles hangs over the zone in the form of the Shivan meteor strike that'll turn it into Burny McRuinsville.
Damn pre-patch slumps. -
Paragon Studios, I am disappoint. :|
I'd have thought that they'd have used PAX to lay some cards on the table, ready for a release in the next few weeks. The 'new and shiny!' attitude seems to persist. The female Barbarian outfit is... a little laughable at best, and a bit offensive at worse. You say Barbarian, I don't think skirt and thigh high boots. I think evolution of those ragged 'Tied Bracers' with fur armour, leather and smatterings of chain mail or small armour plating.
Also, Minotaur character shown without using the cool minotaur leg option we have? Really?
The fly/afterburner comment is just silly. If you could just take -one- power to get access to T5 Travel Pool powers, I'd buy it, but instead you'd need two powers. And Afterburner doesn't even work with Hover. Of course, if it did it' be a bit useless anyway, as you can't attack while Afterburner is running because... um...
uh...
Devs will it so?
Enhancement boosters
At least the other (non-MMO) company I was following showed some promising stuff.
Edited to Add:
That reward table for Signature Story Arcs. The once every seven days one.
1 Alignment Merit, usable only by Heroes or Villains. 1 can be used to roll for 5 random recipes.
4 Reward merits, usable by anyone. You'd need 16 more to roll for 1 random recipe. To buy a specific recipe outright, you'd need way more than 4.
One Astral Merit, every 7 days. That'll do... a lot.
Or 10 threads. Half a component, and threads don't drop from non-iTrials anyway.
Not exactly stunning rewards. -
I don't know if it's sad or awesome that DBZ: Abridged is a thousand times better than the original and Kai put together.
-
Well.
That was confusing. I think I'm mostly caught up on the order of events now... I think, but my parents were left in the dust.
Weird start to part 2 of series 6. Next week's should hopefully be better.
Nice to see the guy who played Cass Cromwell in Outcasts doing something else sci-fi.
