September Veterans Get the Short End..
They also get a token on the 14th like they were going to anyway, and if that makes a year they receive an additional token for that, no? I happen to be in exactly this situation but I'm not too stressed about it because I'm pretty sure they didn't create a special exception just for me that will deny me my future tokens after the conversion. We're also getting thrice as many tokens as we ever got vet badges and we get tokens for buying points. I'm going to have tokens coming out of my ears.
Seen a few people talk about this and wanted to share it with everyone. The new Token system awards a token for every Veteran badge you have with the yearly badges giving two. The 13th of September is when Issue 21 goes live.
Here's the problem: People that were very close to receiving a new Veteran badge, let alone a yearly token, get a short end of the stick. Example: Account A is about to receive their 36 month Token on 14th of September. On September 13th though they are awarded 11 Tokens + 2 Bonus tokens for the two yearly Veteran Badges. (Yes there is more for having a game account code but ignoring that for now its not the concern) However, had the patch been delayed for this person by 1-2 days they would be receiving 12 Tokens + 3 Bonus tokens. Essentially, they miss out on two tokens equal to about 30 dollars. I admit it sucks for these people, and others that were receiving a Veteran badge this month. I wonder if it would be possible to create a grace period for the month of September and if you were to receive a veteran token during this month you get the associated tokens with it. (1 for a regular badge, 2 for a yearly) |
September 14th comes.
They get: 1 Token for 1 month of subscription, 1 Token for a year of subscription, 1 Character slot for 1 year of subscription, 1 badge for 3 years of subscription, 1 badge relating to their token number.

Triumph: White Succubus: 50 Ill/Emp/PF Snow Globe: 50 Ice/FF/Ice Strobe: 50 PB Shi Otomi: 50 Ninja/Ninjistu/GW Stalker My other characters
I hit 87 months on the 14th, if I remember right.
The way I work that out is something like this: Badge 87 would have given me another token, but I also get a token on my billing day, so it's the same. However, I also get 550 points on my billing day, if I fill out my rewards on the 13th all the way to Tier 8. If I21 had gone live the 15th, I would not be getting the 550 points for September, only the 400 point bonus for having an active subscription at any point in September, but before I21.
As far as I can tell, I'm winning 550 points on this. That is, if I got my math and facts right.

Unless you consider not getting every token you think you deserve on launch day "getting the short end," I'm not sure why you'd think having to wait till your badge would normally be awarded to get the associated token is bad. If your next badge is a yearly anniversary badge, you still get the extra token.
Loose --> not tight.
Lose --> Did not win, misplace, cannot find, subtract.
One extra 'o' makes a big difference.
Not sure if it's been said, as I'm just replying to the first post, but that's going to happen to anyone no matter when it goes live.
Someone in the game will always have their next badge/year mark on the next day.

So I just looked up my info in game and apparently my next Veteran Reward hits... tomorrow.
Here is the question I ask: will I still get a Veteran Reward badge for this from pre-Freedom? Are they even still a thing anymore?

I believe that once you have filled Tier 8 you will stop getting badges, except for the annual ones for subscribing. Trying to come up with a new badge name every month would be a huge challenge. (Hmm, maybe I just found the real reason they are switching to the hybrid model. )

You should get another Token, since they are supposed to come monthly on your payment date. Badges are given out for each Token you get. You can look here for exactly which badge you will get.

I may have been badge-blocked here by the calendar.

I'll live. I would much rather have I21 live then worry about the badge on the 22nd. Besides, I'll get it on the 22nd anyway.

Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.
