Anyone else hit by a pre-Freedom lull?

I certainly am. I have ideas for characters, for costumes, for new power possibilities and so forth, but until Freedom hits, I've been finding it hard to log in and RP.

I think as someone who roleplays a lot in Galaxy City, this is made worse by the fact that the Sword of Damocles hangs over the zone in the form of the Shivan meteor strike that'll turn it into Burny McRuinsville.

Damn pre-patch slumps.

You're getting this now? I tend to start getting the pre-patch slumps months before hand. But when Open Beta happened it allowed me to make a few Outfit saves i can copy over when it hits live.

Yes Z, very much yes, also the lack of a date is dragging it out.

I've definitely noticed it. GG regualrs seem to be in a bit of a "not going to start plot 'cause I don't know when it's all going BOOM!" mode.

In fact, plot that is currently running is in direct response to the above in an effort to not just leave everything on hold until the meteors hit.

One thing I have to ask, is why has the trajectory of the meteors not been plotted and noticed? It's something scientists are more than capable of doing months in advance, and in a world of super powered people surely something would be getting done about it?

((Yes I know it's because of Plot™, but I still had to ask ))

Because it's all secretly a Nemesis Plot and he has fitted the asteroids with cloaking devices maybe? In a more seriousness vein, god knows - it's going to happen and we just have to roll with it and not poke the plot-holes too much (lest they expand and consume the universe or something along those lines).

But yeah Z - I have several character and plot ideas kicking around which are sort of on hold until after everything goes boom.

I'm of the mindset that portals open up close to Earth that fire the meteors out to hit Galaxy City, making attempts of countering the meteors impossible due to it happening so fast.

Because it's just stupid any other way.

"Oh hey these meteors are flying straight towards Earth, should we use space based weaponry likely developed due to the Rikti ships flying off out of Earth orbit after the First Rikti War, our advanced technology, magic, or our legions of super heroes to smack them out of the way or destroy them?"

"No! Let's see where they land!"

~~~
"Hey, they're heading for Paragon City, should we evacuate people?"
"No, lol!"
So on and so forth.
What, about all the litter? Yeah... someone should do something about that. Maybe give Squish a sack and a little grabby thing?
I have one plot that can operate outside of Freedom's start date because it's Forseverse stuff. It's just the bigger-work of the two and I'm a bit meh.
The second one (of which only two things have happened towards) really should need Freedom and even more lovely would be Street Justice, before it concludes entirely. And I know how fast everyone burns through plot content!
Yeah, got this too.
Which is a problem, because I'm meant to be sorting out SG vs SG RP plottage and some missions and such >_>
Ah, right, that thing. Took some searching to find it.
Okay, scratch my previous mindset.
Time to pass out the Idiot Balls it seems.
I have a few character ideas I want to roll, but I CBA to roll them until the Freedom rolls.
As for my RP, I'm not involved in anything too major at the mo, so it's all good. :x
Yeah, got two re-rolls queued, one of which requires Street Justice. And lots of costume tweaking and extra slots. And...yeah. Want.
Street Justice... WANT!
I have one possible toon lined up for that, maybe one or two more. Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to Freedom and the return of a certain black cat.
MA/SR -> StJ/WP? That's not a choice, that's a 'How soon?'
re: lull... Nope. I have real life to do that to me. Actually, when I get the chances I do, I'm still working on a canon-to-me character levelling to 50, so I have plenty to do before Freedom comes about.
/Rose Dawn is gettin' there, slowly but surely.
Yes, definitely, and not just related to this game.
Yes, mainly because of this alternate-universe Galaxy that will be destroyed and certain other factors I like to call 'beta-rot'.
I'm running on automatic atm, continuing my Project:level scheme. Which isn't so bad as a few characters that have been hovering in gap levels are now at 20 for costume, capes and the new 20-29 missions on both sides as well as others who have been around 30-33 and can now access Cimerora and RWZ content.
Going to the meet helped, I had time on the train journey in to flesh out the backstory for my DP/En blaster and I can always switch to something else like basing. Got plenty of those I could be working on.
Well, this is not just a meteor shower, it is a targeted attack. One would assume that anyone with the technology and power to do something like that would also either have the technology and power to do it so suddenly there was no time to react as one would with a typical meteor shower, or to mask the incoming meteors so they could not be tracked. If they didn't it wouldn't be a very effective surprise attack, now would it?
