I just wanted to pop in to say that I think it's wonderful that Samuel_Tow has the grammatical corrections down exactly right.

Good job for someone who doesn't have English as a primary language - but then, that's unfortunately pretty typical that someone who formally learned a language has a better grip on grammar and punctuation (plus, of course, that seems to be Sam's style - "get it right!")

"LFG" is a recent addition.

The global channels you find so elitist were established over the course of the past few years.

All servers have at least one, sometimes more.

The requirement for a moderator to unsilence you on a channel is to prevent RMT accounts from joining and then spamming.

Not only are global channels global, but they can be added to one of the chat tabs no matter which server the character is on. I have the Infinity channels on chat tabs for my characters on Infinity, Triumph, Union, Guardian, etc. The LFG channel is server-specific, so I have no way of knowing what might be happening on another server should I care to switch.

I'm sorry you find them so evil, I have found them very useful. They are an altoholic's best chat friend.

BTW, OP, it comes up at least once a month, so you may have people come in and say "search us your friend" because this is a topic that recurs so frequently.

It's an interesting idea.

The main problem I see is that the game's AI is not bright enough to fully use all the powers of a higher-level character - so having the AI run the Archnemesis would not be a very challenging fight.

The Digital You

Who are you most well known as in-game? I mean character, but maybe you have an inappropriate nickname, and that could be fun too.

I don't really think I am "well-known" in game. I alt a lot, so although I now have 3 level 50s on this server, I don't think I am known by any of them. I also play on Triumph, Liberty, Guardian, Victory, with a few others scattered everywhere except Freedom, Virtue, Vigilence & Zukunft.

What have you been doing in-game lately?

Mainly levelling alts through TF groups led by Ironblade & GATE-keeper. I've only done a couple of iTrials. And alting several characters by soloing.

What do you enjoy the most in-game?

I solo a bunch. I tend to enjoy either that or small groups, but I also like the weekly full-team TFs I have been running with.

Praetoria, Mercy Island, or Atlas: Which is your preferred landing destination?

Usually Atlas or Galaxy. I will probably run a couple of lowbie alts through the GC arcs for nostalgia's sake this weekend, before they are gone. Triumph is my villain server, so Rogue Isles is my second most likely starting place.

How long have you been playing City of Heroes?

Just short of 7 years. I rolled my first blaster on my husband's account in September or October 2004, then got my own account 11/13/04.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity?

I was juggling through 4-5 servers when I started participating in a weekly TF run by Johnny Taxibot. I had a blast with those folks, and have hung out here ever since. But this isn't my only home.

What are your plans for "Freedom"?

VIP. We will downgrade my husband's account to Premium once Freedom rolls out, though, since he rarely plays it (lost him to WoW).

(I don't know if you know this, but the Dallas Mavericks just won the NBA Championship, and with a lockout currently going on, they could be considered the champs for quite a long while. Expect to be reminded of that almost constantly.)

Ugh! I live about a mile or so from a university campus of a Big 10 football powerhouse, and the news media went into a firestorm a few months ago when the coach resigned because some of his team had accepted gifts from a backer and he didn't fess up when he first learned about it. If you are a college sports fan, you may know where I'm talking about, but although I absorb some sports through living here, not really a fan. I will watch the Olympics, both summer and winter.

My husband and my sister both have/had accounts, which will go Premium soon. My sister lost her computer, so she is on hiatus. I have also played with some folks who are also active in my other main hobby - I used to belong to an SG called Dragons of the MidRealm with them. I believe many of them have stopped playing.

I wasn't really sure whether I could make this one or not, but it looks like I will be there - probably with Maurya (energy/elec/elec blaster), since we are starting it in Ouro.

Just wondering - what changes do you think FF needs?

And BTW, it did receive some updating recently, when some of its shields were among those powers that can now be cast as an AoE instead of clicking through the entire team to apply them separately.

p.s. - If you want to see a Dev stance on the question of updating older powersets, this isn't the place to ask. This particular forum is for Players asking Players for assistance and answers, and the Devs rarely post here (in fact, I can't remember the last time they did post here, off the top of my head).

You can always go look at the Beta currently being tested. Probably not a "final" list, but it should give you a good idea about what they are planning to put in the Paragon Market.

I will bring someone - Brighid (fire/ice/elec elemental blaster) or Agoniste (fire/rad/fire troller). I think Agoniste has Maria as a contact, but I'm not positive.
