Hello, I'm Moses. Some of you may remember me, if your subscription time is particularly long-lived, that is. If you hang around the forums, you probably know me, at least... 'Eyyyyyyyy. If you don't know me, well, hi! I promise I have no ulterior motives for asking the following questions. I'm not going to decipher your bank pin # by knowing that you like cats.

ANYWAY, it's been a while. I don't mean to be accusatory, but you guys have let this place fall into absolute shambles. If this was a cartoon, the backdoor would be flapping in the wind and vagrant cats would be coming and going as they please.

I know I'm not the only one who has hours to fill at work, so hopefully some of you can find some amusement from answering these questions. Or maybe you can laugh as tumbleweeds go by after I ask them. I'm good for whatever; I'm a surprisingly creepy cymbal monkey banging for your amusement.

How long have you been playing City of Heroes? 60+ months, or i just bought this account last week, either way i still don't know whats going on, so lost.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity? The individual that got me into CoH played on Infinity so this is where I stayed.

What are your plans for "Freedom"? Try to beat the masses to the ViP server and reserve my name there, other then that? no change.

Sometimes I get bored with the game, but then I try to do something else and always come back, my longest stretch with out CoH has been about 2 weeks, I'm not a very good quiter.

I don't know anyone IRL except for Omen, but he doesn't really count....o and Star Empath WS lolz

Who are you most well known as in-game? I mean character, but maybe you have an inappropriate nickname, and that could be fun too.

I am Moses. That's is my nickname in-game and real life. Since my most recent return, I've primarily been repeating trials ad nauseum as Mercury Avenger. Traditionally, I am better known as my longer standing characters, Magician or Molecule Misfit. There was a time where I was a force to be feared in PvP zones as Project HERO.

What have you been doing in-game lately?

Repeating trials ad nauseum. I also like running TFs alot. Good on the devs; I've never been one to play 50s (I need that positive reinforcement of the ding and sparky, level-up splurge), but now I can't tear myself away from them.

I've also been spending a lot of time at the markets. I left a lot of my characters bare-***** and wanting for enhancements.

What do you enjoy the most in-game?

TFs. Big, meaty 8-man teams that kind find their groove and just roll. Especially those that I don't form myself. I used to lead a lot of teams, and these days I prefer being a lazy passenger.

I gravitate to blasting, followed second by controlling. Tanking is one of the more unnatural fits for me, though I'll do it (I don't think I have the appropriate "bossy Tank" tone). I have never once found a Defender I can play.

Praetoria, Mercy Island, or Atlas: Which is your preferred landing destination?

I haven't made a new character in a while. I went through Praetoria a couple of times when it was new, and I think I'm over it. I will probably begin a new character in Atlas for Freedom so I can partake in the new Sewer trial thingy. Hopefully it's as fun as a "Go in at level 2, come out at level 12" trek from under Atlas to under Skyway-somewhere of the olden days.

How long have you been playing City of Heroes?

I played for a solid, almost consistent amount of time from launch until 2009-ish, then I started taking breaks here and there. The most recent break, which I returned from about 2 1/2 weeks ago was ~300 days, according to the character selection screen.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity?

The first "real" character I made was Magician, and Infinity just fit a character with that name. I didn't find a real niche or group of people to consistently team with until maybe six months to a year after I bought the game, so I'm not sure what kept me here throughout that time. I certainly wasn't trying to stay to Infinity; I created characters on every server. However, it was Infinity that kept attracting me, and once you meet a godd group of people, it's pretty much done. Now I'm just here because everybody knows my name (though maybe not so much these days).

What are your plans for "Freedom"?

I originally planned to go the free to play route when I first heard about it (prior to renewing), but reading more, the free limitations seem overly draconian and I think they would annoy me more than anything. So if I'm actively playing the game, I'll probably be paying.

I know I'm going to make a Regeneration brute, I just don't know what primary. I want to try the Beam Rifle, as well as Time Manipulation power sets, but I don't know much more about them. I'll at least give a try to the Dark Blaster powerset. I haven't been paying as much attention as I should. I have one character with a complete set of T3's, so I'll probably continue running that character to the point of T4's, while simultaneously getting another character more Incarnate outfitted.

Knowing where you'll be when the sun goes down.

What is your favorite movie?

I don't really know anymore. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was my stock answer for a long time, followed closely by Ferrid Bueller's Day Off, High Fidelity, Office Space, and some other mid-90's/00's offerings, but c'mon, I've gotta have something newer... The best movie I've seen recently is Thor... But I haven't seen a whole lot recently.

What is your favorite book?

Something by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. Slapstick certainly had the largest impact on me, but I don't know if I would call it my favorite. Perhaps Breakfast of Champions.

Outside of CoH, what are your favorite games?

I also like the Cowboys, but there are too many players on the teams with egos and personalities that make it hard to root for them. The Mavericks are my one true love, so the Cowboys are a distant #2.

My wife hates the game. It did provide a constant distraction while I was trying to graduate college, so I guess that's a pretty good reason to hate it, but all video games did, and still do that. She requires a lot of love, attention, and entertainment, which is the majority reason why I'm not in-game or on the PS3 for every waking hour.

I have a pretty decent job. I'm doing what I like and went to school for, and any job in this climate is really something to be celebrated. I got laid off from my prior job, one where I was also doing what I liked, and so it's a miracle I was able to recover from that to this, in relatively short order for that matter.

I have a wonderful tiny puppy Pomeranian named Sadie. Some SG-mates tease me about her, but they don't know what love is.

One of the first players I teamed with in-game was a controller named Crowd Pleaser. This was six years ago, or so. He lived in the area and was looking for a job, so I got him one with the company I worked for at the time. So we met and became friends through that. He would go on to later return the favor a few years later. We don't currently work together, but we keep in contact. He has had better luck ignoring the siren call of City of Heroes than I have, maintaining his exodus for the majority of the past three years or so. However, he does intend to poke his head in for "Freedom."

Another one of the first players I teamed with in-game a controller named ProcessdMeatMan (no "e"), who many of you may know for his own forum presence. (I liked controller backup as a squishy blaster.) He lived a few states away, but whenever we had the fortuitous chance to meet-up, we did so while I was in his state of residence for a wedding. We had a good time and keep in contact still. He also doesn't currently play, and has similar ambitions of returning once "Freedom" is active.

Reversing the trend, I dragged a real life friend into the game. He has only played off and on for maybe a total of one year of in-game time. He went by the Global @ChimpImp (or @Chimptheimp, I forget), and the only character I remember him playing is a Forcefield Defender named 1.8t (a reference to his car, of all things), and a character named Daibosatsu Toge (or something equally and incoherently Japanese), a Claws/Electric Brute he made solely because I told him I planned to play that combo. He too has intentions of poking his head back in when the game goes free. I tried to drag him in with me for this month, but it's a hard sell when the options are $15 now or FREE in a month or two.

Oh, same old same old. Lots of task forces. Moving some characters to Vigilante alignment, particularly on servers where I don't already have toons on both sides.

I originally picked it because I liked the name. Then I met people and started playing with them regularly so I stuck around.

I just got a new tank to 50 so that I would have an extra to move over to Triumph. Aside from that, play all the new content.

Chocolate.

Leveling as quickly as possible, primarily by running missions. Trying to make new friends. Trying to get into as many TFs as possible along the way.

TFs and large group play. My first main (Green Wind) was a blaster. Since returning to the game, I have been tanking all the way and loving it.

I played for over a year, ending four years ago (time flies). Since then, I played WoW in a casual raiding guild, with a little dabbling in Champions. Because of real life interference with raiding, a general feeling of malaise towards WoW, and a fond memory of CoH, I came back about a month ago. Loving every minute so far.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity?

I was looking for a mid-population server. Infinity is almost always yellow.

What are your plans for "Freedom"?

I think I will go VIP, though not sure yet. Really depends on what being VIP gets you. Hoping to see a big influx of new players.

I don't really think I am "well-known" in game. I alt a lot, so although I now have 3 level 50s on this server, I don't think I am known by any of them. I also play on Triumph, Liberty, Guardian, Victory, with a few others scattered everywhere except Freedom, Virtue, Vigilence & Zukunft.

What have you been doing in-game lately?

Mainly levelling alts through TF groups led by Ironblade & GATE-keeper. I've only done a couple of iTrials. And alting several characters by soloing.

What do you enjoy the most in-game?

I solo a bunch. I tend to enjoy either that or small groups, but I also like the weekly full-team TFs I have been running with.

Praetoria, Mercy Island, or Atlas: Which is your preferred landing destination?

Usually Atlas or Galaxy. I will probably run a couple of lowbie alts through the GC arcs for nostalgia's sake this weekend, before they are gone. Triumph is my villain server, so Rogue Isles is my second most likely starting place.

Just short of 7 years. I rolled my first blaster on my husband's account in September or October 2004, then got my own account 11/13/04.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity?

I was juggling through 4-5 servers when I started participating in a weekly TF run by Johnny Taxibot. I had a blast with those folks, and have hung out here ever since. But this isn't my only home.

What are your plans for "Freedom"?

VIP. We will downgrade my husband's account to Premium once Freedom rolls out, though, since he rarely plays it (lost him to WoW).

Ugh! I live about a mile or so from a university campus of a Big 10 football powerhouse, and the news media went into a firestorm a few months ago when the coach resigned because some of his team had accepted gifts from a backer and he didn't fess up when he first learned about it. If you are a college sports fan, you may know where I'm talking about, but although I absorb some sports through living here, not really a fan. I will watch the Olympics, both summer and winter.

My husband and my sister both have/had accounts, which will go Premium soon. My sister lost her computer, so she is on hiatus. I have also played with some folks who are also active in my other main hobby - I used to belong to an SG called Dragons of the MidRealm with them. I believe many of them have stopped playing.

Nothing. I took a month off prior to this launch.

What do you enjoy the most in-game?

There is nothing I would say I enjoy most in game. I can say that I enjoy the Incarnate trial farming least though. Those are very nice missions, but they get old real fast for me.

It was Galaxy City for most of my time, but I would go with Praetoria right now. You actually can make choices that somewhat matter there.

I've been playing since launch, but on this account, and around 87 months or actuall subscription time.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity?

It was were my brother and his friends could get all the names to form "The Honor Roll."

What are your plans for "Freedom"?

Determine if being a VIP is worth it, or if I should just go Premium. I still enjoy the game, but it sort of feels like I would only be playing for the Incarnate Trials... which I don't even enjoy that much.

Costume tweaking and soloing, mostly. Occasional pick up teams.

Status Crow. Started Paragon City Search and Rescue in May of 2004, then transitioned to City of Villains the following year via Paragon City Search and Destroy.

What have you been doing in-game lately?

I just reactivated to check out the new content. It has a familiar feel, but with lots of new twists. I like the new graphics, animations, sounds and powersets. I still don't understand how to get that "+1" thing under my level, though!

What do you enjoy the most in-game?

Helping others, immersing myself in the city, the lore... this game is the cartoon of my boyhood dreams come to life.

Galaxy, actually, but I understand that it's no more. Atlas by default, then.

Off and on since a month after launch.

It was my first MMO and I'd no idea what I was doing. I think I'd opted for Infinity because of Buzz Lightyear, no lie.

Seeing the old sites, trying out the new stuff. I don't really have the time I did in years past to play games, but I think that's also a good thing. Many of you would probably agree and thank me for limiting my time.

Best in life? My kids, no question about it. I've been on a pretty unlikely and fortunate path; every day is a miracle, along with all those in it. Carpe diem!

Of late, "Kingdom of Heaven" and "Body of Lies". I'm psyched to see "The Tree of Life", "Voyage of Time" and "Melancolia". Finally, I love LoTR and have never been more excited to see a movie than I am for "The Hobbit (I and II)".

Baseball. Long-suffering New York Mets fan here. Shoot me now, please... I used to be a HUGE Cowboy fan as a kid, but when Dwight @#$% Clark cheated and interfered with Everson Walls to make that @#$% catch in the 1982 NFC Championship Game, I swore to never follow the @#$% sport again.

Family, work, obligations. I strive for more balance in life now -- whereas I probably put in 30+ hours a week in my CoX glory days (that's scary for me to type that now!), there's so much else to do and see and love, and only so much time.

I'm really good friends with Manta Birostris of PCSAR fame, and keep in touch with Jotunn (Da Troll) on FB. On a special note, the further we get from 4/28/2004, the more I'm flabbergasted at just how special PCSAR is (not sure if they're still around, but I'll use the present tense, as I always found it to be more of an ideal than a group). It's a corps of kindness that I've yet to see even slightly replicated anywhere since, and that's a testament to their members & the Infinity community for receiving them so well. It's an ethos that anyone can carry over into "RL" and make the world a better, safer, happier place. <3

You get the +1 by getting an Alpha Slot to Tier 3, which it bestows a level shift.

If you haven't begun the Incarnate stuff, go to Ouroboros and do Mender Ramiel's story arc. Upon completion, you'll start getting Incarnate Shards, which you can convert into components (the common level of which you can also choose as a reward from level 50 TFs). You turn these components into an ability. In the case of Alpha, it's a passive ability that acts as an extra enhancement booster on every power than can accept it. At the basic level, it's Musculature (damage), Nerve (Accuracy), Cardiac (endurance), and everyone's usual favorite, Spiritual (recharge). Get that to the third level of creation and you'll have a +1.

Why did you originally choose to play and/or stay on Infinity? - It was a fun server, everyone was friendly for the most part, had a lot of vets that ran fun events and it seemed to have more of a family atmosphere where people kind of lived and let live. Great teams and PuGs for the most part and always fun TFs to run.

What are your plans for "Freedom"? - Right now just trying to get back into the game, want to focus on getting my 35-40 lvl toons up to 50, but with some of the new powersets I know I will get derailed with altitis at some point.

Work mostly, I work in the oil/gas field as a landman so I am constantly pounding the ground and out talking to land owners in the far backwoods parts of the eastern US with the new gas boom in Ohio and Pennsylvania. I am often living out of a hotel for 4-5 days a week and only home on weekends if I am lucky. I have been in the same area for about 2 months now, 3 hours from my house. Hotel internet is most of the time too spotty for efficient gaming. When home on the weekends I try to catch up with friends and now that it's college football season get down to WVU for a couple of games. Also I Mountain Bike 60-80 miles a week so that cuts into my "fun" time. Just don't really have a lot of time for games and when I do I mostly play Modern Warfare 2 PVP.

Nope, a lot of my friends are married or not "dorky" enough, in their words, to play COH although I do play some other online games (Modern Warfare, Star Trek Online) with some R/L friends.
