I haven't had much problem with Spam email lately. Just one Pinnacle particular portal in PI CLOGGED with adsf dsa, jlksdjlk and jneio0887 characters. All zero vet badges, all global names same as toon names, all Fire/* Trollers, no SG, all level 50s with "random button" costumes.
I /ignore_spammer them on principle, though they haven't spammed anyone that I know of. Sent a petition and requested a GM to observe the obvious RMT farmers. Got an email back saying that I didn't give enough information. That's why I asked for a GM...
RMT hurts us all. A helluva lot more than all of the "game breaking" problems like stacking BotZ (for example)...
They don't care enough to even come and see it when its happening (all day and all night, in fact). -
I've been avoiding Carnies lately for this reason. Even with No Bosses when Solo set I've been getting a Dark Ringmistress AND a Master Illusionist in virtually every spawn. Downgraded to Lts, granted, but that still makes for a much tougher encounter than normal and the mission more tedious. Carnies never USED to spawn that many Bosses, why are they spawning that many DOWNGRADED Bosses?

Debuffs and DoT will both add to the fear effect caused by sustained damage and inability to hit.
As far as a Taunt Aura preventing runners? In the right circumstances I've even had them run from an Inv/Fire Tank. -
In my opinion, I can't afford Booster Packs. There have been a few things contained within them in the past that I would have liked to have used on any number of my characters. Some of them are really VERY cool. My main problem with them is that for a month after every pack that's ALL I HEAR about.
Has it been my decision to not spend what is really a small amount for these goodies? Yes.
Does it bum me out when I am CONSTANTLY reminded of what I am missing out on? A bit, yes. -
Quote:And they both have the same Tanking style...Statesman/Doc Delilah- I think that if Statesman ever gets over his grief over his wife to date again, he's going to have trouble with a relationship. For the last 70 years, the world has seen him as a savior, a parental figure-- how many women are going to look at him in a romantic like? It'd be like Santa trying to hit the dating scene ...
I think that Doc Delilah would find a man who's seen so much history-- he's been to Tartarus for gosh sakes!--- fascinating. They may or may not wind up in a romantic relationship, but I can see them definitely enjoying each other's company. -
I'd surely love to see this happen.

Quote:Not sure if this was covered or not, I had expereinced it some time ago but haven't been back to MA until last week.
Sometimes, even if the character has no recipes on them, they can not roll random recipes. An error message saying "recipe inventory is full" comes up. As a work around, sometimes you can roll an inspiration then go to roll a recipe. Note that even though you waste 20 tickets on an inspiration, this only sometimes works.
Had that exact problem just now. -
Quote:That's what I said.the thin pretense that inf is anything but cold hard cash tore wide open with the introduction of the market in I9.
That they keep insisting on it to this day is either hilarious or pathetic, depending on my mood.

Because the very concept of Influence and Infamy, and how it is used to barter for goods and services is intrinsically tied to the heroic/villainous behaviors associated with gaining said "currency", one can never be used to gain what the other can from the same source. My rep as a Villain doesn't mean diddly to a Freedom Corps Superpowered Field Trainer and the Arachnos Quartermaster doesn't care if I AM the Hero of the City.
Actually, IMHO the markets are both outside of the spirit of either type of Inf. It seems that we (players AND devs) have forgotten what that was. Neither one is a "hard currency". They are both merely a measure of what we can get people to GIVE to us, based on our reputation as a Hero or Villain. In a "secret bid" blind auction who's going to "give" me a shiny new Positronic Matrix EITHER because I'm "such a swell guy" OR "a really scary dude"? Whoever has that particular salvage up for bid doesn't even know who's bartering for it, let alone whether I will be really grateful if they give it to me or really angry if they don't.
Would the market benefit from being merged? Yes.
Would I LIKE the markets to be merged? Heck yes.
Does it make SENSE in-game without completely retconning the concept of Inf? Nope.
CAN they change the spirit of Inf so that it no longer conflicts with the nature of hard currency? Sure. They already removed the spirit from Reputation when they changed the way difficulty settings are implemented.
In fact, though I've heard nothing about it so far, Heroes or Villains tavelling to Nouveau Praetoria should be BROKE when they get there and their adventures there should not add to their Inf when they return to Paragon City/Rogue Isles. -
I think rather, that Nether feels that this post, and others like it, are back-handed slaps at the Farming community, in general.

Bugged TFs...

Customer Service conversation while on a bugged TF:
GM_something -> Invite me to team

GM_something -> Well if your (sic) not going to cooperate I can't help you.

I don't have my heart set on either the way it is currently or the change proposed, but I have to say, BABs: THANKS for askin!

Hey guys, what he's calling a standard mob in fact is not. He's trying to re-create standard mobs using customization. That's why his "Death Mage" is a Dark/Dark Defender. Everything he calls standard is most like just a custom mob SET on standard.

How will Traps/Sonic compare to Rad/Sonic for AVs? My initial thoughts were positive, but does AM give Rad the edge?

Great idea, Diamond!
Hello from sunny (but hot and humid) Florida, all you EU forum folks! -
Quote:/e 100% agreementThis is the notes from the patch, and it does not mention anything about the Custom Powers breakdown percentages in the Ops post, nor does it mention the part about needing all of the common levels in Custom critter groups (Which I agree with.). I could not find what thread they are a part of, but Im going to say something about the breakdown list anyways
The Custom powers breakdown list does not reflect what is actual happening within Custom Power groups. There are power groups such as Cold Domination that only have six powers in their list. If I go by the breakdown list I could select Cold Domination Custom, and that critter would only be worth 70%xp of a equal Dev created critter, even if I select all of the powers of both groups. Anybody who has actually dealt with custom critters knows that this is ludicrous. Most Custom critters even at the Standard/Standard setting could wipe the floor with most of the Dev created critters. If you doubt it just put a battle in a mission, Custom critters against equal Dev critters, and see who is left standing. Its a good way to see how balanced your Custom critters are.
If this list came from a Dev it shows that the Dev does not know how the Custom Powers system is setup, nor the strength of Custom critters, and the Dev probably should not be even messing with this part of the AE system until they do know how it actually works.
As for the numbers that are listed in the patch, the Devs have always preached risk=reward, yet this setup violates that mantra right from the get-go. Standard pretty much means same-as, so if a Custom Critter is set to Standard/Standard, then that critter should be getting the same xp as an equal level Dev critter. If the Devs do not believe that a Custom standard critter is equal to a equal level Dev critter, then they need to change the wording to reflect this. Standard should be made Easy (35%), Hard should be made Standard (50%), and Extreme should be made Hard (Say 65%). This change in the percentage in the Hard category reflects risk=reward xp of the Hard catigory. If I make a critter that is Hard(Extreme)/Hard(Extreme) then the xp should reflect that.
As I have stated before my experience with creating Custom critters in the AE is that even a current Standard/Standard Custom critter can beat most equal level Dev created critters, and the ability to deal with a Dev critter is what should be the measurement of Standard, and xp of a Standard Custom critter should reflect that.
Again if you want to measure the ability of a Custom critter, have them duke it out with an equal Dev critter, and see who is left standing. -
AE is dead.
Too few good stories to make wading through the ocean of crap worthwhile. Without meaningful Risk vs Reward (WHERE have we heard THAT term?...) there is no compelling reason to do AE missions except those which friends have created.
Give it a month. The AE building in Atlas will be as empty as the one in Faultline. -
Mine was Emp/Psi back when Psi sucked...
