Huh, I never saw it have that many, though I'll check next time I run it what I get. Odd. I thought it was basically "enough to get the job done".

Virtue if you still like to RP, it's busy and pretty much ... roleplaying everywhere.
I've been hearing that Triumph is kind of up and coming on the RP scene. You probably just want to skip down to the server forums and see what mood you get off each one. -
Oh just wait until you hit the 54. Sands, Blackwand AND a nemi staff. hehehehe.
-
It also helps when you need to spawn a giant monster for an event, somewhere other than its intended location. Robot Rampage wouldn't be the same without Pocket D and the Oro portals.
-
>_> Or, you know, play for as long as it would take to earn em... just sayin'.

What wand with 50 charges? It has never had that many when I've done it...

I'm with Cat and Scuzz. I never opted out, and I know for a fact that I used to receive these. The last one I received was on December 18, 2008, about the Apple Open Beta. I think at some point the database must have been reset to having everyone opt back in.

^^ This.
I have also had my "newsletter: yes" box checked, and haven't gotten anything since December or so. Everyone else was getting all these things, and neither my inactive nor active accounts have gotten anything.
I've gone back and reclicked it, hopefully that will help. -
Congratulations!
>_> Is it a coincidence that her shortened names become EveEl? heheh.
And happy birthday! -
Apparently you don't approve of "sandbox" play?
Valve does - without it, the use of their Hammer and other editors (which they themselves use) they would never have been able to offer the insanely fun Portal Flash Map Pack with the release of the xbox version of Portal. It's new content for them - because it'd been out on pc made by fans, and adapted for use in their officially released product.
Also, several people who made mods for Half Life and other of their Source games using the editors, became employees of Valve because of the high-quality work they showed.
Sandbox play is extremely vital for certain products - and we've already got half a box with the Architect. I do believe that the next logical step WILL be to allow us access to modifying maps and the like. I don't see it being any EASIER than Valve's hammer editor (which is ... really, really insanely difficult to use unless you're already in the industry) but I do see it as a way for not only the product line to extend itself indefinitely, but for the company to grab people who show a lot of promise using the technology. If not on this game, then any others which Paragon might put out in the future. -
What you said. I agree entirely. It's not fair to anyone including the developers of the game, to skip everything in it to race to the top. There's nothing much at the top, it's all from ground level.

Okay so the spam is normal. I just had never really seen it do that. The BADGE spam, yeah, but not the item spam.
-
Well, how long had the old account been active before you stopped using it? The only reason to keep it would be that it would have existing Vetran time on it, and you'd have none on a new account.
Welcome back -
She should come back and post it herself. Dirt is MIA for a while now...

Okay the first part, no, not so easy, but jesus making machinima is a professional gig for some people - don't knock it.
Machinima on youtube can very easily spread the word that this game IS as cool as "all that" and seeing things in the game being made easier to interact with for folks who are good at it would be a godsend.
Or don't you think that samuraiko's videos are good for the game? -

That'd be an interesting story arc for the Menders.
Save Oranbega, a few centuries before the war against Mu.
Meet and help them, knowing that one day, they will become eeeevil.

If they meet and help them, before the war... they don't have to become evil. That's pretty much the premise of my alternate world. -
Recently there's been some people in the Player Questions area wondering about their sudden appearance of vet rewards the account they're on hadn't earned yet.
Tonight, I made a mm and started choosing her (valid) vet rewards, and when I got to the Base Items (trophies) I got this spam in my chat box.
Is this normal? I haven't seen that, ever, but then I haven't made too many new characters very recently and don't normally pay attention to the general tab while I'm in the tutorial getting new powers up.
How many others are experiencing this sudden spurt of "added" vet rewards, too? I mean, the one person says they've been on the account all of a week - and they got to choose up to the 42 month vet rewards. That's pretty wonky. Anyone? Either of these things? -
Well, be aware that if you use those things and don't wind up telling a gm, they have every right to remove them and you'll be angry. So... might want to bug it and send a petition to a gm to have it straightened out.
On a similar note, I created a new mastermind tonight and when I was putting on her many, many vet rewards, I chose the base items (the trophy cases) and it listed in my chat box all the things in them (positron's helmet, hamidon goo, etc) and i've never, ever seen that happen. So there may be some overriding issue with the vetran rewards right now. -
There are so many hardly- or not-played characters out there, it's nothing bad. Keep em, you might want to play with them some day, or even put them in someone else's sg that wants prestige padding and doesn't mind not getting constant prestige with them being idle.

Sure this could be relatively easily done...

I suppose you are a game developer and that you have worked with City of Heroes and its coding and that you know how it works.
Otherwise I think this would be fun, but useless, what would come of it other than easily made videos?

Aside from it being reasonably simple to give a single-color texture to walls in a supergroup - sg base love please - I would say that's a perfectly GOOD reason for doing such a thing. Even lighting and a background that doesn't clash with or combine with the colors on your character = great screenshots. -
The squishies. Whoever has the control wins, basically. Enough of them and no tank can move, scrappers do no damage thanks to defender debuffs. Hell I'd even move the Novas off to the non-squishies, just to balance it out.

lol Wine coolers.
hahahahaha who even BROUGHT those? Someone smack them. -
I actually like the idea of having minigames, but I don't know how they'd work them in properly. I'm a huge sucker for stupid quick flash games online, that's probably why I don't mind the idea that much.

Dual pistols were defninitely really high on the often-requested sets. Other forms of summoning for the MM's have also been asked for... and at least this wasn't "clowns".
Sometimes they run very brief forum-only polls about what we'd like to see, among things that they think they'll be able to pull off. Shields were the first biggie there. Growth/shrinking and a couple other things (water powers... waaaater powers) have been talked about but not spoken of in terms of 'when' but 'if'.
