Did Virtue crash?

Lost connection to mapserver, logged back in, then when I click the server the game hangs on trying to load characters and then dumps me back to the login window.

Think its a port problem, had the same problem with freedom.

Don't think it is the game, though.

It's dead, Tim.

Crashed and can't even get to the char select screen.

Now there's a message saying "Server down" while Virtue is unselectable.

We overloaded the server. Too many players.

@Rien

I am Lord Omi. Now and forever. They can take our City, but they can't take me.

I'm in the same boat. Just as well--I wasn't studying as hard as I should've been. >.> I'm sure they'll get it ironed out in time.

Edit: And now Virtue's grayed out in the server list.

I'm not sure what people where thinking when this event was planned in the first place. "Lets overload a shard and crash it when there are no devs left to hit the reset switch!"?

Maybe there is someone on the skeleton crew who'll reset it on monday. Perhaps some kind soul will even fix it over the weekend. But in the situation we're in I'd be concerned the odds were equally likely the shard wouldn't come back until maintenance thursday. If you're lucky.

And we're back!

Jump back on and let's crash it again!

I'm back in, and everyone is celebrating.

Should we start overflowing to King's Row once Atlas fills to 9?

This is false.

During Beta we have had cases where there were up to 41 Atlas Park instances spawned. The number of characters in the name doesn't matter.

Otherwise, we would never be able to have more than one instance of Founders' Falls, Peregrine Island, Independence Port, etc.

Peregrine Island alone has more characters in the name than Atlas Park 10.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

The Devs don't maintain the Servers. The Servers are located in Texas and there are NCSoft staff that handle server maintenance, reboots, etc.

I do not know if Virtue is down for the count or will be back up and taking log-ins at this point.

Hooking into this thread on the subject.

I am back in AP6 on Virtue, but I have to think that the hoss is going to stumble and collapse under the weight again...

Is that a good thing anyway, in a back-handed sort of manner?

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
