Is that a good thing anyway, in a back-handed sort of manner?
Dropping the servers a half dozen times in a row will make NCSoft take notice.
How they'll respond is another matter.

Peregrine Island alone has more characters in the name than Atlas Park 10.
Haha, I believe he was kidding!

Heh... I wonder if anyone told them Virtue would be "extra active" today

I'll be back around 2pm Pacific with Ke'khali... I was there earlier when we crashed that puppy, and would kind'a hate to see it happen again before the "official start" of the rally.

Serves me right for quick reply!

I'm aware of this. If you would, allow me the leeway of it being shorthand for "it appears NCSoft has decided to shift priorities, resulting in the loss of the Paragon Studios devs and who knows what impact on the virtualized server farm". Does anyone know if the priority shift has impacted CoH server monitoring to even notice a problem? Probably not but a possibility. Does anyone know if the server folks have been told to devote the majority of their time to GW2 servers and if there is a CoH problem its to be put at the bottom of the to-do list? I don't know the answers to these questions and suspect nobody else here does either. And while the risk might be minor it seems a largely unjustified risk, is NCSoft going to have a change of heart because we're *increasing* maintenance tasks for them? IMO, virtually no chance of a positive impact with even a small chance of a very large negative impact (Virtue potentially down for who knows how long) isn't worth the risk.

Yeah if there was a hard limit I would think 256 would be the number in question.

Would it be possible to start overloading servers on a rotating basis and crash them one after another? Keep the NCSoft server monkies working hard for their money.

As Thulsa Doom would say, "That is strength, boy. That is power!"

Yeah, really. What the heck? That wasn't until 5pm EST/2pm PST.

Well, I came back to my computer to look and indeed the poor ol' hoss had collapsed again.

Now in AP10 holding my torch!

"How do you know you are on the side of good?" a Paragon citizen asked him. "How can we even know what is 'good'?"

"The Most High has spoken, even with His own blood," Melancton replied. "Surely we know."
