Call to Action: Unity Rally this Saturday!

I'll make every effort to be there on one of my older 50s--a character who, narratively, was born and raised in Paragon. It seems fitting that way, even if I won't be winning any costume contests.

I really really really want to be there but because of a real life obligation I can't make it and it just chaffs my hide, the thing I am going to I don't even like, it's a stupid baseball game that we go to every year with my hubby, my daughter and my father in law. I don't even like sports but because it's a "tradition" we go, yeah this sucks.

Massively is going to be covering the event on Twitch.

I'm babysitting my niece this Saturday, so I likely won't be there at 5pm. I may be able to make it later if it's still going on, though.

I plan on being there - I transferred my main from Liberty for it.

Is there a guesstimate on how long this event may take place?
Any inside scoop if any rednames will be appearing on their personal accounts?

I will do my best to be there....I will transfer my main to Virtue for the event.

I was rather shocked, though, when I mentioned this event so some fellow CoH players, and their reaction was "doesn't sound like anything special. I'll pass."

And this was players who are supposedly passionate about the game. Now I'm afraid to mention it to people I know who used to play, back in the day. I can probably expect a "lol, no" at best. Makes me sad.

To everybody who's posted that you may not be able to make it ontime - Please pop in when you're able! We need as many people as possible zoning into a Virtue Server Atlas Park and showing support in positive, engaged ways. I'm hoping to be able to continually recruit folks who can lead activities such as "Unity DFB: Devoted Fan Base" runs, maybe even "Save Paragon DiBs: Dedicated Instigators of Benefactory", or even "Architects of saving our Entertainment: Set the World on Fire Farms"... all based out of a Virtue Atlas Park instance. When the Hydra head on the right starts to shoot off its light-beams, I want the group leaders to say "Exit to Atlas Park 11".

[Edit: It was also pointed out that Villainous characters may want to participate, so hopefully we can also have spillover into Pocket D for a Save Paragon Dance Party, and Solidarity Incarnate Trial runs!]

Anyway, I'm going to be there instigating Random Acts of Solidarity for hours after things wrap up, for as long as I'm able to stay coherent. Make that conscious. For as long as I'm able to stay conscious. If nobody else volunteers to help out with costume contests every hour on the hour after the "official TonyV-instigated Titan Network-promoted Dress as your Favorite Paragon Staff" one at 6pm eastern... I'll host them myself.

So please, hope other people volunteer, cause my tastes run... Odd.

That said, I will definitely accept donations of INF to @Paula on Virtue, with the guarantee that they would go 100% to costume contest prizes. I'm a waaaay casual player and can only offer so much, so even if you can't help host anything, sponsoring would be welcome! Thanks a billion to everyone reading this. This means you haven't given up on the game, packed up your bytes and gone off to Farmville. Because of people like you, City of Heroes has become a digital home worth saving. And save it, we will.

For those out of town or otherwise busy tomorrow - if you are OK with leaving your computer on and logged into the game, someone suggested that you enter AP, go to AE and start an AE mission. This will immediately put you in TF mode.

DONT START THE MISSION! Leave the AE building and head over to City Hall and park yourself for the rally.

I haven't had a chance to test this myself, but it sounds plausible. I will cerainly be trying it tomorrow.

Ooh, the CoH Facebook page just posted that Massively will be streaming this. We ALL have to show for this now!

I'll be there but I know others who have work or other prior engagements (one a 25th wedding anniversary party) but otherwise will be there in spirit. Even veteran players, some still so bummed they can't bear to log in, are planning to attend, and while I was on Virtue, making sure my Player Rally toon was ready to go, the players on Virtue are planning on Costume Contests and non-stop partying after the event.

Those that cant make it could always AFK in Atlas. To AFK with out getting logged out just start a mission in AE. Since AE works like a Task Force your AFK timeout will be shutoff.

I'll be there, but I'll be using the AE TF trick (mentioned plenty above) to stand on the steps without going AFK and autologging while I'm out of the apartment for the evening. So, for any in-game friends who see this post, please let anyone know what's up if you see them attempting to communicate with me.

Three instances of AP on Virtue at 11:00 a.m. Keep it building, people!

Is there a global channel I should join for the event? I never had a character on Virtue that I actually played.
