so the other day i saw a couple of toons running around with Kirby dots for an aura... and i almost choked to death on my cookie! what are superheroes without kirby dots????

i asked them what aura it was and they informed me it was dark matter (or something like that anyways) and said it was a dev give away a little while ago.

i would do horrible horrible things to get my hands on this aura, any word on if they are going to release it generally?

Oh yeah, that was the time that girl got her whatchamacallit stuck in that guys dooblickitz and then what his name did that thing with the lizards and it cleared right up.

screw your joke, i want "FREEM"

Sorry to say that, despite much fuss from some of us on the forums about it, the only official responses have been that it will remain an exclusive giveaway for the time being...

I managed to get it from their Twitter giveaways, but I wish they'd simply make it available for all to purchase or acquire or whathaveyou.

Best of luck!

I got a code... I don't really like it or use it either. If I could unbind it to my account, I would let you have it... for a fee, of course.

Your character does not have capped defense. Depending on your AT the cap is between 175% - 225%. Your defense is not teal in the combat window, it can go higher. STOP SAYING IT IS CAPPED! The correct term is Soft Cap.
I enjoy playing in Mids. I specialize in Melee Characters, other AT's usually bore me.

They have also given these away during appearances in Pocket D.

I'm not certain but I think some were given away at a con or M&G that one of the Devs or OCR staff attended.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

This was pretty much the only reason I did the recent Shark Week event. After all the hullabaloo in Talos Island, the afterparty in Pocket D would feature a redname passing out random Kirby Dot codes. I got lucky on Infinity about midweek and skipped the rest of the week. The Summer Movie Event was WAAAY more fun.

We should get Zwill to come to the next DC area meet and greet. And then kidnap him until we all get aura codes.

Yeah, I went to one of the Mako Week post-Mako meetings in Pocket D hoping for a code, too. Still don't have one. (And it would go perfectly with one of my characters, too. Right now, she's using the Pixel aura, which is a poor substitute)

I got lucky enough to get one of these codes during the Shark Week event on Virtue. But I would agree that I don't like how the Devs seem to be treating this aura as a very limited "permanent" exclusive.

Any exclusive that remains PERMANENTLY exclusive is always a bad idea (I'm looking at you Prestige Power Slide). I hope and would have absolutely no problem with the Devs eventually selling this aura in the Paragon Market at some point.

As someone who has most of the "exclusives" available already, including PPS... I just want to chime in and say I agree with this a hundred and eleventy-one percent.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

Being in wrong time zone, I had almost zip chance of attending the shark week events

Being out of US/EU means no chance of a contest that doesn't excude me

I'd much prefer a market/real money option.
l also would prefer marketing spent their time/budget on more inclusive (that is, something I can access /self interest) stuff but not going to hold my breath for that.

CoH is always going to have things locked away as exclusive this and thats.
Understanding that fact helped stop me buying every costume piece, code etc as there's no point being a completest about it.

I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thank you Devs & Community people for a great game.

So sad to be ending ):

More or less what I think too.

While I know limited the access to the aura was supposed to make it special; it's just frustrating now.

I HAVE INFORMATION RELEVANT TO THIS DISCUSSION.

Ahem.

Apparently they're giving out a metric crapton of Dark Matter Aura codes in celebration of the late Jack Kirby's birthday.

I stand so very corrected.

And I just got one so not all of the NA codes at least have been used up. There are two NA lists, the code I used came from the first list.

Word to Santa. Got 4 codes myself (two accounts and two friends) so keep plugging people!

Thread had significantly viewer views than codes when I first saw it (I think I saw 64 views). Now it looks like views exceeds codes*, but I'm not sure by how much. There are a lot of codes, and many of those views are repeat views, not unique views.

* Edit to add: Views were still lower than codes when I wrote that.

I just applied a code from the first list within the last half hour or so.

Still codes left.

I just got four codes (main account, two secondary accounts, fiance's account) so there's definitely a lot left. I recommend picking randomly from the middle, not from the top or bottom.

I was very pleasantly happy to see this offer

Did the whole copy to excel & started to copy and paste, only to get it first time - Joy!

Didnt bother to try to get it on any other account. Only fit a few concepts which I can make on the one account and seemed nicer to let others have the chance.
