Thank you, sir.

I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30)) Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.
You know, I haven't spent money on this game in months (won a free year sub about 6 months ago). Thanks for keeping my wallet full for super packs.
I have heard - but I have never tested this - that converters work on SBEs. If that is the case, you could buy a full set (at the sale price), and use converters until you have nothing but procs.
However, I must reiterate: The claim that converters work on SBEs is purely hearsay! I strongly recommend that you log into the Test or Beta server to confirm that this actually works before spending cash and finding out it doesn't! EDIT: If this works, it is still a possible way to get stacks of procs at a cheaper price than individual sales. |
I had a Posi Dmg/Range lying around in my inbox I was never going to use *just now*, so I tried to drag it into the convert slot: Big fat nope. Much like Overwhelming Force, I am disappoint.
I just noticed when I went to make my purchase that the individual IOs are marked down at 25%, whereas the sets are marked off 50%. Before I go through with the transaction, I would like to know if that was an intentional reduction in the sale price, or if it was a case of mismatched numbers (and if so, will it be changed)?
I sent Alpha Wolf a PM asking the same, but if he doesn't happen to see it and one of the Community Managers notices this post, could the question be passed on, please?

Basically buying in bulk is cheaper, but the individual items are still discounted. Makes sense.
This was intentional. I discussed with Marketing and we decided that individual IOs will be 25% off.

Not cool.
Still, better than nothing.
I guess I don't really understand the reasoning behind having the bigger sale on the full set, when the set already has a bundle discount.
I would have considered buying a Miracle proc or two at 50% off, but even with the 25% off they're still out of the "impulse buy" range for me.

Pro Tip: Buy the full sets and then use the unused extras to frankenslot new alts leveling up. From level 7 onwards, new toons can have slot-and-forget IOs that level up with them and don't need replacing every 5 levels.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.
@Roderick
I seem to recall personally checking and seeing that converters *did* work on SBEs, at one point, but I guess it has been changed, because it no longer lets me put them in the converter window.

If that's the case, it makes sense to me.

Since that change was not in a Patch Note, we should assume it's a Bug. Are some of the older SBEs that originally could be converted able to be dropped into the Converter window?

Time to end this discussion. Store bought enhancements never have been, and currently can't be, converted. Period. Think about it: if you *could* convert store bought enhancements, you could just buy the ones that cost the least amount of paragon points and convert it into ones that cost more paragon points (similar to how people will convert crummy crafted IO's in game into something they could get more inf for in the auction, though SBE's aren't tradeable). That's bad business as less of the more expensive sets wouldn't be sold if they could be converted.
"I think it's ridiculous" =/= "it didn't happen".
Was it an egregious bug that happened to slip through the cracks of converter testing, and was panic-fixed as soon as somebody at Paragon realized it existed? Maybe. Is my memory and the memory of several other posters here coincidentally fabricating the same false memory? Maybe. But I pretty distinctly remember converting some SBEs. Asserting that it didn't happen just because it would have been a bad idea is silly; things that are bad ideas frequently manage to happen anyway.
If you have firmer evidence than my simple recollection, that's another matter, but your post doesn't mention it.
Oh, no, it did happen. I tested it myself and it's enshrined in the Wiki: http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Converter
At one time, SBEs were incontrovertibly convertible.
The first I heard of a lock on conversion for any Enhancement Set was the Overwhelming Force Set.

i still hoping the universal damage set will appear in the store too many market ppl are selling them at outrageous prices
also i wish we could sell extra enhancement catalyst or do soemthing with them
that is all..looking foward to bio armor i know its Soon (TM)
but i wonder how soon is soon?
as Ood Sigma said....We will sing to you, Doctor. The universe will sing you to your sleep. This song is ending. But the story never ends.
well as to the OF sets, there were 3 movies in the summer event , we were told that the third was for future expansion, great, now with the event in Oct, I could see a "spooky" movie going into the third or getting the first two changed, and that they could give the OF set out as a reward. or the choice could be given at the end of the haunted house mission. sorry to be off subject.

If so, I will definitely be buying at least a dozen procs tonight . At 25%...maybe I'll pick up 3 or 4, but at least a few. Thanks Alpha Wolf! I can actually see a reason for discounting the entire set more than the individuals. I would prefer the 50/33 and 25/15 points to 50/25 and a potential 25/10 though .
