Ernest Borgnine has passed away at the age of 95. You made remember seeing him in RED. But I remember seeing McHale's Navy as a kid, watching him pull those fast ones week after week. He was a great actor both dramatic and comedic.

He had a good run, but I'll still miss his awesomeness.

Another legend gone. He had a great run and an excellent career.

RIP Quinton McHale/Dominic Santini Ernest Borgnine

Such a storied career and genuine personality. An Oscar winner early on and then a staple of cinema and television. This leaves who....Mickey Rooney? The grand silver age of cinema legends grows thin.

RIP

Don't forget Dom in "Airwolf".

Hollywood doesn't cast "not pretty" people anymore. You got to say he had a memorable mug.

While I recall things like Airwolf, Merlin's Shop, and McHale's Navy, I'm afraid Borgnine has been cemented in my brain as Mermaid Man. At the merest mention of him I hear Mermaid Man crying "Eeeevil!" in my head.

Huh...I coulda sworn he was lost on a rafting trip probably about 20 years ago. Other members of the expedition were found on an oil platform.

Airwolf was one of my favorite shows as a kid. It ranked right up there with Knight Rider in my young mind.

I always loved his genre work.
Three roles stand out for me-

Dirty Dozen, The Wild Bunch & Escape from New York.

A versatile, talented performer.

This....this is truly a shame. Borgnine was truly one of the greats in acting and he was not one of the "pretty" faces either. He made it in hollywood because he knew his craft. I know that he will be sorely missed.

RIP Ernest Borgnine.....

Yeah his face was memorable but he had the skills also something that some "pretty faces" don't have these days.

He was a great choice to play Dominic Santini in Airwolf. He was a good everyman character in that show as well as a good foil for both Archangel and the embittered loner Stringfellow Hawk.
